yes it can, the business are (1) buying accident cars fix them and resale, (2) saloon (3) restaurant, (4) buying nursery school. thtz all i know of, the types of permit u can get are, work permit, study permit, business permit and life partner but u cant get perminent residence permit now. tht amount is good for start up here.

Hello bro.

Please do you have an email or number I can call.

Am in SA and need to ask some questions about the permit you talked about.

Please would really love a response.

Thanks

this thread will be question and answer thread, i will alwys make time to reply questions mind you iam not too good in english.
iam not here to connect people abroad or do visa for any one because iam not in position to do that.
iam not here to ask for money or any assistance.
iam here to answer and tell my people/nairalanders any thing they want to know, from the life our people are living in the street of south africa to the top, to the secret no one will tell u about south africa to the hustling and how everything look here to different between here and nigeria to the reason why u havn't seen many of your brothers who are here for years.
all depend on what u want to hear just ask anything. this thread is like asking a nairalander or a brother how things are here before you decide to come here.
i will only answer questions i wont tell any one anything on my own.
thread OPEN!

forget cab business you can't cope ,More importantly the business is for the locals .You can try restaurant, saloon ,Cafe or buying of cars and reselling business in SA.On a serious note getting job in SA is easier if you re science oriented,IT,Medical personnel or technician(refrigerator,AC and Laptop repairs) .For those coming for postgraduate studies there are many scholarships mostly designed for science students and most time students are employed as tutors or laboratory assistant. .
Thanks Bro! I Am An Agric Engineer, would Consider S/A 4 Masters If There Would Be A Ready Job Over There

how can i describe this, ok as we all know it's hard for any one to sell a restaurant or business thatz moving fine, thatz where ur knowledge and skill comes in.
we are all buying failed business, be it car i said ''accident car'' the same thing with nursery school and restaurant, we are all buying drowning business and we resurrect them, is like buying a ''mama put here with that amount'' then you will re package it the way you want with that same amount.
the most important thing is to get a spot, renovate it and start it the way u want same goes to nursery school, saloon, flat etc.
thatz the reason why it's composory you learn any one you choose cos here it's difficult to survive if you dont have the knowledge. if you have knowledge it's soo easy here.
i see it as ''my knowledge and hard work couldnt save me in nigeria but same thing saved me here and soo many of us with the right knowledge''
Uche, pls can i mail u for a private chat on Whatsapp?

Can you elaborate on what this "struggle" will entail?, In other words a guy with an MSC in banking and finance will be employable as "What" in SA?

it means regardless of one's qualification when we come here without money at hand or surport from home till the person stabilize ( get job with the certificate which may take up to a year plus) else the only job we do for a start here are, security, bouncer, washing cars, cuting hair etc.

you cant rent flats without permits unless u 'll rent it in someone's name then it's possible but the person can claim the flat. geting a job here is almost d same with nigeria you will hunt for job after school not easy bt definately you will get and you will forget you sorrow later. finaly they hv 6 months and one year programmes.

Be not deceived you can't get any reasonable job in SA with bsc Political science or Public admin,There are SA citizens unemployed with bsc in these field of study .You may be fortunate to get employed as Tutor/research assistant if you enroll for masters degree program .To be renting Flats and sublet to people is a good business if you have the capital but the risk is enormous for instance if they failed to pay you must pay with your money .You don't need Business Permit to do this kind of business but you MUST have temporary permit (study, critical skill or work permit etc).

Don't get me wrong people are getting jobs but mostly in science oriented courses and per hap accounting and financial auditing .In the midst of Xenophobia violence my neighbour(Nigerian technician with trade test not even bsc got a good job in a big firm). You mean if he graduate with SA certificate in political science he will get job? That is FALSE. Where will he work?We have thousands of SA citizens in this field of Political science seeking for jobs and they will be employed before considering a foreigner .Having SA certificate doesn't guarantee jobs but rather what SKILLS you have and what can you contribute to their economy .Graduates of Pol sc in SA (foreigners) have 2percent chances in getting jobs, perhap he may do menial jobs to survive . if he is soft developer,IT expert,Medical personnel or technicians etc then I can assure of him of Jobs .
