Back to the thread - the banks believe if force is not used many nigerians will not register for BVN. Perharps they are working under orders from CBN. I advise everyone to register and do the needy so we don't start queiing in banks towards the end of the final closure; that would in itself constitute another stressful venture.

That's a scam think it over your ATM will be disabled because you haven't done your BVN registration, but you can fill the form to reactivate you ATM which will be disabled.
And after the whole process you haven't still registered for BVN.
Don't get doped by yahoo boys by putting all your bank details on the form,they will simply use it to get a new ATM with your details and clear you deposits!!!?
I registered in February for my BVN was told I will be notified via SMS to pickup the physical card, in the mean time the details where sent to me via SMS 24hrs later.
Shine your eyes till now my BVN card isn't ready

The problem with nigerians is that they like to take everything for granted and they don't want to do the right thing at the right time. that my ATM card will be disabled if I don't have BVN. Below was what I received:

I wonder what having this BVN number is turning into. Is it a must I have it nor make use of it?

End time thing I think.... What do you as well think of this BVN or no BVN issues?

I was at my bank sometimes ago and was asked if a had filled the BVN said no and thats all. Well, was told to fill it at my convenience

I recieved email from Fidelity bank stating BVN would expire 1st June and registration is done at any Fidelity branch. There was no link. I registered yesterday. The msg Op got is scam though..

look ,u have got no choice ,whether the service providers are bad ,wrong or ugly is irrelevant ,the bottom line is u have got to do it ,unless u won't be able to do any money transaction with any bank. So go to any bank, get any bank ,do the stuff,they will give u a form ,then go and submit it to ur bank. All these excuses u are given can't and doesn't change the fact that u have got no choice .

Nigerians should be smarter by now.

Because you of all ppl should know that NO BANK will send a mail to you asking you to send ur card details or bank details and it has been said for almost 8months that the BVN can only be done in person not online due to the biometric data capturing process involved. You should know better than this that this mail sent to you is from fraudsters and scammers .

Trust me! I didn't do that but just thrashed it immediately I extracted what I wanted to.

I just got it reviewed from my e-mail thrashed can which I've as well taken its screenshot
for Nigerians to see to be aware of the new e-mail format used by scammers for fraud.

They should never click on any of such link in the e-mail let alone submitting their data.

u only need to do it once and it covers all ur existing accounts and those u will open in future . So if u have bank accounts with 7different banks ,once u do ur bvn with just one of them,it covers the others.

Oh! Lord of mercy, i received similar E- mail today, it claimed to be from Gtbank that I should fill a particular form to reactivate my ATM card that I will soon expire, as I was filling the form I got to a column that requested for my ATM card pin, my E- mail and password even my phone numbers then I was like what the f*ck, so paused checked the mail again but to my surprise the E- mail account I received the message n link from is not the one I used to open my bank account.... Then I don't know what to believe again so I decide to leave it wait till my Card stop working then I will go the nearest GTB branch n do the necessary stuffs.. Below is mail n the form from the link

walk into any bank ,tell them u want to do bvn , they will give u a form to fill and do some things ,when they are through they will give u a stamped form that u have done ur bvn with them but u should go and submit that form to any bank u have account with.

very simple ,when u did the bvn ,they must have given u a small piece of paper with a some numbers on it . If u can find it ,cool. If not go to ur bank and complain, they will ask u to wait for the official bvn card that will be given soon .
