I don't believe MI-24 pilots use gas masks. We only train MI-24 pilots in Belarus, that's a fighter pilot. I initially though he was flying an F-7 in that photo, not until Africaken pointed out he was wearing a Russian helmet.

Not entirely man. After the bot, a lot of stupid from the other thread invaded this thread.

which is why the vast majority of armored vehicals bought by the Nigerian military during the war have been wheeled grin

They have many hundreds of tracked armoured vehicles already since 1980s, Nigerian military always had both types. Most of the new purhcases are MRAPs that only come wheeled not tracked. The hundreds of T-72 MBT and BVP IFV are all tracked new purchases. We have both , we buy more of both, that is an all-terrain balanced army.

Tracked vehicles are slower, require more fuel and logistics in general and are harder to fix when they break down.

Wheels = High mobility
.

Your high mobility = ZERO mobility when your tyres are stuck in mud
.

whats the name of that helmet and oxygen mask wink ?

The name on the helmet in Russian translates as Yakubu.

The name of the Pilot is Yakubu. The Nigerian Airforce doesn't operate any Russian jets at this moment.

STop what ?, I think you should post pictures supporting ur claims too ? @ least av posted few pictures showing ur chadian forces who are the best in desert warfare and experienced using wheeled armored vehicles !
Go to the youtube or google pictures from USA "operation desert storm" or "Battle of 73 Easting" -read about it, only abrams and bradley armored tanks and vehicles where used so what pictures do you want unless if you don't have access to the internet !
You should stop showing the world of ur ignorance !
Lol

Insn't the SU-30 better than the J-10B?

Henry120:

They've always been very active in COIN operations. However, they are mostly based in Yola instead of Maiduguri.

* I'm referring to those used for COIN in the N.E.

I just hope we can sign a deal for a proper 4 GEN fighter soon. I favour the J-10B over any other fighter in the market, but it looking increasing likely that we are going to get the JF-17.

It all depends on the requirements of each individual Nation. The J-10B is a 4++ fighter aircraft, with general improved performance over the basic J-10A. It's range is double that of the basic model, avionics and combat suite are state of the art, it comes with an AESA radar and improved armaments.

The SU-30 is one of the best fighters in it's class, however like a high class chick it requires high class maintenance.
