That's a Vektor CR-21!!! It's not in service as far as I know? Can you elaborate?

Frumentius, i was trying to say the Pintle mounts are obviously better than using strings.

* my original handle got banned for a giving a more elaborate reply, so i'll just leave "this at this"!

Don't know what your previous handle is, mate. Some idi0t tried to argue that mounts - any type - were unnecessary in all heli transports and those makeshift strings in Naija Pumas were evidence not of short-comings, but of the gunner's mastery of his art.

In this case not in service only means not available to every infanteer. Infantrymen showing promise can play with the CR-21, and upon earning the badge "Marksman" in a section can play with everything from pistol to anti-personnel rifle.

So yes, some units within the SANDF use whatever weapons they deem fit.

I know some Parabats who are qualified on the NTW.
Very Interesting indeed!!

I was also wondering what are restrictions on using a personal rifle in the SANDF? Do you have to use the (for exp) R4 your issued with or can you use a personal rifle, and what are the restrictions on moding your issued rifle?

Only when you earn certain levels rank and more important, proficiency, are you allowed to modify your issued rifle/play with non-issue weapons. For example, I've heard of section leaders in the regulars being charged with "damage to govt property" for mounting rails and scopes to their issue R4. Their excuse? "My juniors had them!" The next crucial question: "Are you qualified?"
As with any army, the brass never are.

Yes, I know.

I think they'll only be effective against tank round not modern rockets and missiles.

Stealth variant of missiles like the Ingwe one proposed by Denel will reset everything.

Thanks Frum for the great insight! Ive always wondered about this after seeing a few photos of SANDF soldiers with non issued rifles, like your photo of the Oak with the CR-21 for example.

Just a last question I would like to ask, mate! If you don't mind.

I was on one of SAAF forums topics where they were discussing the new upgraded R4, and one of the members posted a photo of his R4 issued by the SANDF(not sure if his a reservest or a regular Soldier) he said every thing except the magazine was issued to him by the SANDF.I've seen a lot more soldiers using these newer R4s these days...well definitely in Potchefstroom at least, what I want to know is are these new R4s becoming more standard issue per se? or are they still for the select few for exp those that are more proficient as you said.

Still, you cannot quote where I insulted anybody here.

I have no argument with multiple members, just you and africaken posting wrong data which you want to force the forum to swallow.

The members of this forum should learn how ask questions when in doubt, don't just say something is a lie.

NAF ATR-42 Surveyor has ELINT capability complement of the SATCOM dome.

If you don't know the what ELINT and SATCOM domes look like, be humble enough to ask for help.

"A KU-band satellite communication (SATCOM) system has been integrated in Nigerian Air Force aircraft, thus increasing the communication capabilities of the ATR 42MP."

They could be for a number of things.

Now, please post some manner of concrete evidence to support what you have said.

There is no need for argument or debate. Simply post evidence.

Just because it has a simular design does not mean that it is an AK

For example by your standard the FNC is also an AK

Yes I know what rifel it is mate! It's an R4 or slightly modified Galil if you will, which use a operating system derived from the AK but except for that are entirely different rifles..the R4 and Galil don't even use the same caliber ammunition as an AK,

I was just wondering why you commented on my post saying its an AK if I wasn't even asking what rifle it is?
