Definitely a continuation. For one actors contracts will not allow that kind of storytelling and two the greyjoys are really boring and I don't think the show runners could make them any better than the martells, also Bran's story has reached the same point in the book.

They only got to the part where he meets Bloodraven. They didnt show his training, the things he saw, what BR told him. I dont like the Greyjoys, but they aren't boring to me. Especially Asha. I loved her chapters.

As much as I love bran I don't think they would do a parallel season and base it on me or show his training montage as that kind of thing doesn't translate well to tv. Same thing with greyjoys, the messed up dorne in d show so expecting better for d greyjoys is a dream. Lets b honest ppl don't really care abt them, they r shi t and their story is shi t well except wen dey decide to go meet dany, anoda character wit a shi t story.

They are pirates, you dont have to like them, i dont like their reaving and raping either, with theur "We do not sow"s, but i think their story is interesting. As to Dorne in the show, no doubt it was shit, they really ruined Dorne. So then what's your favorite storyline.

In one of the chapters that GRR read, it seemed the next book started with the battle of one the greyjoys that wants to attack mereen...the one with d horn that will supposedly allow him to control a dragon....that does not seem inconsequential

The battle of the Greyjoys is merely a diversion. The main dish is how Victarion Greyjoy and Deanerys get along.

A diversion to you, perhaps. To some of us, it is very important and is being eagerly awaited.

Mereen is practically besieged at the moment, and the Battle of Slaver's Bay will determine what will become of Ser Barristan, Tyrion Lannister, Jorah Mormont, Grey Worm, and the rest of them in the city. Daenarys herself isnt even around, so Victarion may have to cool his heels somewhere first.

Once, long ago, a young man lived in a small village. This man began feeding the dogs in his village, and they all came to love him. Near and far, they would clamor to the village to get the treats this man made; they were the best treats any of these dogs had ever known. One day, two boys from the village decided they liked what the man was doing so much, they decided they would also feed treats to the dogs. Around this time, the man said he was working on his next batch of dog treats, but then retreated to his hovel and was not seen for a long, long time. The dogs grew hungry, but the two boys had made their first batch of treats. They weren't as good as the treats the man made, but the dogs still appreciated them. Plenty of dogs who had heard of the man's treats only got to eat their first treat when the boys made them, and now these new dogs even moreso clamored for the real deal. Years came and went. The boys would feed the dogs their treats, but as time went on, the boys got sloppier and sloppier with their recipes. Some of the dogs still ate the treats greedily, but many of the others had come to hate the drivel these boys were making. So instead, many returned to the empty scrapped containers that the man had put his treats in. The containers were old now, and offered little sustenance. Indeed, there was little more than the memory of flavor in these containers. But nonetheless, there was so much more tasty satisfaction in the tinfoil wrapping curled around these containers than the slop the boys were making, or pure starvation. And all these dogs, every day they came and licked the tinfoil and, for the briefest of moments, could pretend they were eating the real treats the man once made. And every day, they come back, they lick and gnaw at the tinfoil more and more greedily, and they wait. For they know that surely, surely the man will finish his next batch of treats soon, and they can finally feast as once they had.

These books have so much detail, so much forshadowing, so many hints and backstories, and some of them unrevealed or unresolved. It's going to take time, to piece everything together, and to resolve things. He has even planned a plot twist or two. Just be patient. And plan rereads. PS, if you're so ready for the next book, then im sure you know Lem Lemoncloaks real identity ?

I don't hate them because they are pirates, the vikings were pirates and were awesome. I hate them because their entire culture is unsustainable and doesn't make any sense. Thy are basically the vikings without any of the good parts. No culture can survive based only on "reaving" for as long as they did and if not for GRRM authorial fiat they don't deserve to exist. They are the worst type of parasites and should have been wiped out centuries ago especially considering they don't even contribute anything to the Seven kingdoms.

Dorne also annoys me but that is based on their history than any of the current story although I still find myself skipping the Dorne arc. As for favorite storyline I'll give it to Jon, a genuine good guy fighting a threat that actually matters. Stannis too, his character is great (book stannis not the rubbish the show did and yes I'm still very pissed about the show) and Arya too. Waiting for the glorious revenge of the North too.

During their times of peace with the rest of the kingdons, they grow plants, however small(yes they sew) and traded with the resy of the world. Harlaw is the richest of the Isles, allthough they have less soil for agriculture, they make up for the rest by reaving and trading. They can't just be wiped out, hey're tough you know. The Iron Born have the second largest fleet in Westeros. As for Dorne, what dont you like ?

@Gbola, I absolutely love that your old man and dog thingy. Nice one.

I have to agree with @Sage1000, the book Stannis is so far removed from the show Stannis that they might as well be characters in different shows.

Each member(atleast main member) of the Brotherhood without Banners has a backstory or identity, except Lem. And no Lem isn't Tom O' Sevens. eg Beric is a Lord of House Dondarrion, Thoros came to King's Landing to convert people to R'hllor, Anguy is from the Dornish marches, Tom O' Sevens had a thing with Edmure Tully, Harwin amd Alyn were once in service at Winterfell, Jack be Lucky and his eye story, Edric is a Dayne and was named for Eddard, Lady Stoneheaet is UnCat and so on. Only thing we know of Lem is he had a wife and daughter and that he wears a yellow cloak. He definatily is more than that. And there was a time he talked of his dreams with the Ghost of Highheart.
Lem, is that you? Still wearing the same
ratty cloak, are you? I know why you
never wash it, I do. You’re afraid all the
piss will wash out and we’ll see you’re

How is lem lemoncloaks centeral to the plot ?

First off. Rhaegar had two squires formerly; Myles Mooton and Richard Lonmouth until they were both knighted. The Lonmouths are Stormlander house sworn to House Baratheon of Storm's End. Their sigil is. six quaters, red lips/kisses on a yellow field, yellow skulls on a black field. Their words are "The Choice is Yours". Why all of this you ask ? If you recall Meera's story about the Little Greenman on an adventure who came accross a tourney on his way home. Now this is definately her father Howland Reed. In that story, she mentioned a few people, although by their sigils or appearances. In that story, apart from the squires and their knights, every other person he mentions seems to have a big role, a big identity, or was somehow important to the plot. Except;

At the feast, the dragon prince sang a song that
made the she-wolf weep, while the storm
lord won a drinking contest with the knight
of skulls and kisses.

That night, the storm lord and the knight of skulls and kisses both swore they would unmask the Knight of the Laughing Tree.

Now who do you think the knight of skulls and kisses is. Lem is also known to drink heavily, and can match king Robert. At the Battle of the Bells at Stoney Sept, Robert slew Myles Mooton. No one knows what happened to Richard Lonmouth, but his body wasn't found, he might have watched up somewhere. Now its possible that later Rhaegar might have chosen Richard for the King's Guard if there was an opening, its also possible him and Robert might have been friends. But why has he disappeared, how come no one has heard about him ever since. Its said Rhaegar was close to 4 people his squires, Arthur Dayne, and Jon Connignton. Its possible that he was present when Rhaegar abducted Lyanna as everyone believed, or went away with her. Its possible he might know if Rhaegar had a child or no, anything like that, if Arthur Dayne was present at the ToJ, its possible someone else close to Rhaegar knows the truth of him and Lyanna, hence why Richard Lonmouth might be an important person, one doesnt just disappear, he might be alive and is masquarading as another person, maybe to start anew, maybe he wanted to forget his old life after the Trident. He has some similarities to Lem Lemoncloak, hence why he might be Lem Lemon(which is close to yellow)cloak.

This might mean everything or it might mean nothing. There are oher characters who also seem mysterious, like Gerold Dayne 'Darkstar' or Septa Lemore or the Gravedigger or Robert Strong or the Shavepate or the Alchemist. That doesnt mean they have something big to do or anything. Same for Lem, GRRM might not even reveal it, he might just leave it at that, hence they could mean everything or nothing to the plot.

Lem didnt work for the Starks. And not that he was talking in his dreams, he told the Ghost of Highheart what he dreamt.
"Dreams," grumbled Lem Lemoncloak.
"What good are dreams? Fish women
and drowned crows. I had a dream
myself last night. I was kissing this
tavern wench I used to know. Are you
going to pay me for that, old woman?

When Jaime was don with Edmure, he refused Toms song?
Why?
Anyone?

Why did Pate have to die n how was he killed?

Why was Tyrion mischieviously pleased when Aegon follwed his advise

1) Tom once ran afoul of Edmure Tully when
he stole a girl that Edmure was supposed
to bed to take his virginity. Edmure had
drunk too much and was unable to perform.
Tom then made a song about a floppy fish,
which led to Edmure's hatred of music.

"A hundred times," the singer said airily.
"They keep a chamber for me, and the
young lord is like a brother."
Catelyn smiled, wondering what Edmure
would think of that. Another singer had
once bedded a girl her brother fancied;
he had hated the breed ever since. "And
Winterfell?" she asked him. "Have you
traveled north?"

He remembered Tom is all.

2) The alchemist is Jaqen H'ghar or a face, if Jaqen himself is a face, but they are just the same person is what im trying to say.
Jaqen passed a hand down his face from
forehead to chin, and where it went he
changed. His cheeks grew fuller, his eyes
closer; his nose hooked, a scar appeared
on his right cheek where no scar had
been before. And when he shook his
head, his long straight hair, half red
and half white, dissolved away to reveal
a cap of tight black curls.

He was just a man, and his face was just
a face. A young man's face, ordinary,
with full cheeks and the shadow of a
beard. A scar showed faintly on his
right cheek. He had a hooked nose, and
a mat of dense black hair that curled
tightly around his ears.

Now its unclear what he wants in the citadel, but its connected to how he even got captured in the first place. Also the pate Sam sees isn't the real Pate, most like its the Alchemist wearing his face now. Maybe the alchemist/Jaqen/NewPate was on a mission. We'll find out in book 6. Its easy for a faceless man to kill, and he had to die because he would compromise his mission which we will find out about.

3) That's just Tyrion being pleased with himself. Nothing to it.
