Osun people still eat a plate of food for that amount!

Afam4eva:

I think the OP is referring to taxis that pick several passengers at the same time and he compared it with the one that picks a single person in the states.

I also never knew people still buy a full meal for 100 naira.

Your comparison is totally flawed, are you sure you live in the states or you are quoting some figures from a blogger?

Get your facts right hommie!!!

This is what you get when they devalue your currency. They take all your crude oil, pay you in dollars and the money becomes useless when you convert it to your currency. The effects reflect on every other commodities.

The irregularities in the Brent Woods monetary system favors the advanced countries at the detriment of the poor nations richly endowed with natural resources.

lmaoo how about buying the whole of America?

the average house located in a not so expensive state when converted to Naira is around 50,000,000...for this amount you would get yourself a nice structure in Nigeria.
people rarely build new houses from ground up, only the super rich could afford to, the cost of buying a land will first run you down, to add property tax, insurance, and utilities. you go fear!
Re: Comparison Btw Cost Of Living In The United State And Nigeria. by Chinom(m): 6:28pm On Jul 12, 2015
OP is partially right. The comparison is between people or workers of the same class and category in both countries. Like a cleaner in the US and a cleaner in Nigeria or a bus conductor / Agbero in both countries.

In most places in Lagos, especially motor parks, the average bus conductor can get a meal for N100 complete with meat.
One room accommodation are certainly available in Lagos for N4000 a month. Even less than that. And there are Taxis in which you will pay about N100 per trip. Of course you will have to share it with 4 other people.

Housing is definitely cheaper in Nigeria than in the US. We are not talking quality of the houses here, but just roof over your head.

not everywhere is N100 in abuja. for instance from area 1 garki to berger through the express is N50. garki to garki 2 is also N50. many other places within abuja is N50. except u re taking a drop (chatter) then be prepared to pay from N300-N400 within town. the OP is in order
