You just compiled a list of the first universities in nigeria, that doesn't mean other schools don't have their own strong alumni, you simply didn't bother searching.

AAU for example, has very strong alumni, yet you did not mention them at all.

The private universities are backed by their founders and sponsors, you also ignored them completely.

Must u comment...all these other uni shld be squeezed into the list to still make it seven right...

Would have bashed the list if ABU had not made the cut.....mehn that school Alumni is strong...My Mum is an Almuna of the school Set 1969,they still hold yearly alumni meetings

The alumni office in most sane societies aside helping gather ex students to achieve development, runs the scholarship office. They employ staff who makes cold calls and reach former students thereby maintaining statistics of responding, non responding and employment situation of former students also enabling networking, where chief executives who are ex can reach out to school and encourage job seekers to apply for opportunities announced but primarily they run the scholarship from donations received.
I have seen persons donate single handedly equipment and facilities worth millions of dollars just to help their institutions they graduated from many years ago, if you ask me I do not believe based on any familiar contributions of the above named schools that any of them have an organized office aside the websites and cannot award them that "strong" status.

I was surprised to see and meet OAU alumni association having Sokoto branch. I used to attend their meetings during my service year.

They also have active branch in Gambia.

Your post would have made more sense if you went further to detail how many scholarships for how much was offered in the last 5 years by each Alumni Association and for how much total, don't you think

Apart from other developments you may have found out to also list instead of just calling out names of universities without any VERIFIABLE statistics of comparative performance.

Apart from the Alumni Hall I don't know what else the alumni body of OAU has done for their alma mata. In the US, public universities get substantial support from their alumni.
