it amuses me when I read comments about the market bouncing back very soon. The bottomline is the both PDP and APC has lavished the nation's treasury on their selfish campaign now the oil revenue they were hoping to recoup their investments from is not forthcoming. To the extent FG have to deep hands into the NLGN fund and pulled $2.1billion to bailout states just for payment of pending salaries not even for infrastructures. Oshiomole on the hand is busy fight Iweala bcuz she didn't approve a certain loan for his state. Emeliefe on his own side is claiming the reserve is now growing in leaps and bound while CBN can no longer defend the NAIRA which lead to the free fall. Now tell me who is deceiving who? The major reasons Pa. MB is not in a hurry to appoint his cabinet due to lack fund. I ve said it countless times that the only way forward for Nigeria is AGRICULTURE so it's better Nigeria and Nigerians wake to reality and stop living in fool's. paradise. By NOVEMBER some of the things I'm seeing now will be made manifest. *ThE OcToPuS * 2 Likes |

myjoy08: Anyone that believes what the CBN is saying can virtually believe anything. What do we expect him to say, of course they have to make Nigerians believe that they are doing their work. I dnt know how long we can continue to prop up a currency that is a product of an economy that is structurally weak. The spread between the official market and the parallel market is over 20% (a perfect environment for round tripping) and we are still trying to prop up the Naira, using our already scarce foreign reserves. This defense of the currency by the CBN looks more like an Ego trip than any clear-cut policy. In as much as I do not support devaluation because it has not really helped the nation in the past and I do not see any advantages for its implementation at this time, our economy is stuck between a rock and a hard place and sometimes somethings have to give for other things to fall in place. The CBN is living in illusion if they think all is alright. If Emeifiele knows he is sure of what he is doing/saying let's just float the currency and let the markets(demand/supply) dictate what the real value should be. 2 Likes |

I believe there is political interference in this naira defence project because someone said he will par the 'rubble' with the USD post May 29. For the market, we might be witnessing a hostile bear consolidation. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pythondjango(m): 9:21am On Jul 16, 2015 |
@pythondjango,its clear that as a patriotic citizen you wouldn't want ur currency lose value by rounds of devaluations exercise but the truth must be litted for all to see,and which is,when you as a country is structurally weak, fundamentally unsustainable, and has less to offer d intl market in terms of what to import to d rest of world aside oil and gas, infact which is refined outside d country. so ur economy cum currency value will suffer seriously and there is no need for "ego-playing" amidst our monetary and economic policy makers.I made bold to say that nigerian CBN governor is so demented for being so pretensive and ego playing in when there is a need for right thing to be done.Emefoolish is known to be ideally dumb and creative thinking dunce, while thinking that his doing connotes "good job done by his relunctance to swerve to right step taking" no apology for saying.I think this emefoolish should be relieved of his job because he would remain d nuisance and dumb egg oozes poisson to this nation's economic value in this buhari administration. |

FranklinRich:By the time naira hit #400 in d parallel market then i know d "ego don" would have been shamed and that will give him no shell to hide his shame then he may do d needful.By that time d market would have been reduced to naught. |
