ideykwum: Not in real life. .... The tide was just against Jonathan this past election , not forgetting that The same Yorubas voted for an Ijaw in 2011, and even this year, he still won at least 35% of their votes.... is that your definition of hate? What you see happening on nairaland is called 'Group act" or group behaviour. You will be surprised an Igbo woman with a Yoruba husband will still come here with a secret moniker to poke fun at her husband's people. 1 Like |

sukkot: Lagos is Nigerian land- Nigeria's former capital and was built with Nigerian oil resources. The international airport (Murtala Muhammad Airport and deep sea ports) gave Lagos big advantages. Lagos belongs to everybody - Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa and others included. So go tell a Hausa land owner or Igbo land owner that bought the property with their hard earned money and sweat and tears that the land is not theirs. People (including the Oba of Lagos) need to be more guarded in their comments. But it is also clear that the Oba of Lagos in the heat of election cycle mispoke. 4 Likes |

sukkot: Of course Lagos preceded oil but it was NOT the mega city that it has become. Today Lagos is probably the biggest city in all of AFRICA. We are all very proud of Lagos. Trying to exclude anybody is courting disaster and problems. Lagos grew to Mega City status because of Nigerian oil resources and because it was Nigeria's capital. Just Like Abuja has grown because of Nigerian oil resources and because it is Nigeria's capital. 1 Like |

saintandsinnerz: What rights were violated? Did anyone get hurt or died as a result of the Oba's statement? These are just some of the questions the ICC would look into when determining whether to take this joke seriously! I know you are used to living in a world where you can't express yourself freely but I repeat what the Oba said is still part of his fundamental right to free speech, now if people were actually killed as a result of the statement then there would be a case for inciting violence or "genocide" as some of your comrades put it. 1 Like |

millionaireman:Get a life! Isn't it a Yoruba man that God used to make Jonathan a ijaw man the first vice President from a minority tribe? Ain't it also the Yorubas that protected that Jonathan be made President when yaradua died and the North didn't want him to be President? The Yoruba used mass media, protested on the streets of Lagos and abuja; in some cases they were tear gassed, where were the igbos, the ijaws and other minority groups then? What did the Yorubas get in return from Jonathan and his tribe? Insults! He even went to the east after he won his first election, that's about 2 years after he was sworn in as president after yaradua's death and he was shouting at the top of his voice that they the Igbos are the pillars of his administration. That's were he missed it and this led to him losing the 2nd term, his none performance inclusive. 8 Likes 1 Share |

scholes0: Igbo has never been slave to Ijaw. Ijaw has never been slave to Igbo. You are only a small-mind personality, like many in your group whose duty is to create enmity between the Igbo and the Ijaw and others in the old southeast region. Objective? So that as the resources in the old southeast region are being exploited and the environment polluted under one Nigeria, there can be no strong opposition group from the old southeast region to shout out against exploitation and environmental degradation. Your divide-and-rule tactic is outdated. 1 Like |

nairalady: How many Yoruba youths do you hear making noise about June 12? Besides, June 12 wasn't a Yoruba thing, it was a Nigerian thing...a Democracy thing. And about the killing of 2 million people, it was a fuccking war, what did you expect? It is not like Nigerian soldiers weren't killed as well. You guys make it seem like your people were just sitting by themselves, minding their business, and Nigerian soldiers went and started killing them. It was a war, and they were the casualties of war, PERIOD! 6 Likes |

RickyTan:so if i have a child and he grows to be an adult and i have no money to send him to university, and all the neighbors and towns people get together and help contribute money to send him to university. he graduates and becomes the best doctor and extremely rich and world renowned. does that mean he is no longer my son ? he is now the son of everyone who contributed to his education ? dont make me laugh bro. he remains my son but the others can enjoy in his success because they helped contribute to it but he still remains my son 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Lemon12: The beauty of free speech is that it can be negative or positive, you can agree with it or disagree but it should not be restricted. We've seen politicians said worse things and they were not crucified, you people need to get over yourselves! Personally I feel the Oba was wrong to make such a statement but expecting the ICC to sanction him is just plain ridiculous! 2 Likes |
