God could well exist as the explanation to "existence" (eg deism), but to jump from that to Christianity requires a leap of faith. Faith by definition does not have a solid foundation. Its only backup is a book. So it is normal that your faith will be challenged if you have an open mind. Your faith is immovable only if you close your mind. So do you want to be challenged or do you want to stay within the confines of your religious indoctrination. I think you should embrace the challenge and keep thinking critically. Eventually you will overcome the challenge and find peace of mind. Either by leaving your religion to a freethinking one where not having all the answers is ok (ie one which is not governed by a holy book) or by being locked tighter in Christianity. Obviously, my wish for you is the former.

Yeah not asking you to become an atheist
There are many positions between "God does not exist" and "God sent his only son to save you from yourself".
There is a theological position which says: "I dont know for sure if God exists or not. I believe he does but his ways remain a mystery". Some form of agnostic theism. You have to find your comfort zone for yourself.

No way. My belief is complex. I would precisely call myself an agnostic atheist and a secular humanist.
Basically I dont believe in a god (atheist) but I dont think that right now there is enough evidence to be 100% sure either way (agnostic) and believe that humans have the capability and the responsibility to live moral lives without depending on a god (secular humanist).

When I was questioning my beliefs, there was this my pastor friend who was already assigning spiritual madness to me. Just for questioning.

Would never try to explain that to a pastor unless I was deliberately looking for a long boring lecture.
So what kind of Christian are you? Any particular denomination? I was raised catholic before backsliding to a point of no return.
