@ ex elpaso mums/dads,

is there a way to escape getting consent letter from father of child notorised from embassy for baby's passport since elpaso passport agency insist on it .
This is especially more tedious for those families that don't reside in Abuja or Lagos where the consulates are.

Great! It is necessary to explore all alternatives jare. I sent two emails now to Dr Fagbohun but not received a response yet. Hopefully he responds today. In the meantime can you forward the quote you received to my email (iyawoade01@gmail.com) Also contacted Dr Glen Morgan and only gave Dr's fees so will need to contact Houston NW Medical center for remaining fees. Accommodation will be decided after I conclude doc/hosp plans although I am also considering In town as it appears to be my cheapest option at the moment ( compared prices with precious cedars

Will keep you posted if I find anything more reasonable

Apple19:

Hi mama, good to know you're also heading same way. Contacted Dr Fagbohun of Oakbend and have gotten a quote already. But still want to do Oliver twist small. But thinking of Intown suit for acc. Let me know if something diff come up abeg.

Then I will be leaving early or mid January cos am a mid Feb mom. Waiting to hear from you

Unfortunately, this is not an issue of El Paso Passport Agency. You will need a consent letter in any city in the US if the father is not present at the time you file for the baby's passport. Good luck
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Nobody: 1:00pm On Sep 03, 2015
@Vlesparza,

Thanks for the reply but that's not what i am asking . my question is about getting the consent letter notorised at the embassy.
someone asked this question in the part one of the thread ,but the answers were not straight forward . I need someone that used elpaso and
presented a consent letter that was not notorised at the American Embassy that was accepted to advise me. Thank you.

My thoughts exactly! This issue of circumcision has given me sleepless nights!! undecided I have resolved to carry a picture of a well circumcised 'kini' to my delivery to forestall any reworking caused by corner kick circumcision. Gbam!!!

On d circumcision issue.i actually asked a nigerian doctor based in d us wen I had my son and he said wat we call 'excess foreskin' or American style is actually better cos d excess skin stretches as d organ gets bigger .hence giving it a better look if we r concerned about d look but he also said something about it being an advantage against prostate cancer.i hope ds info helps

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by FinanceFitness: 1:44pm On Sep 03, 2015
I really doubt you can get around this in Elpaso.

If it is really tedious for you, you can plan to get your baby's passport in Houston - so fly to Houston about 10days to departure from US and then process baby's documents here. You can just make your itinerary that way when booking your ticket now.

There is no way around it for El Paso o. i remember someone based in Edo State then, the husband notarised it with a Lawyer and send, it was rejected. The husband had to fly to Lagos just to notarise the consent letter and send via DHL again. They ended up spending more money.

Are you saying she can use the form not notarised at the embassy for processing baby's passport in Houston? Pls let's throw more light on this if you ve recently used any notary apart from the embassy and used it successfully to obtain baby's passport.

I used Dr Gleen too...he's such a nice man. Talked to him about the pediatrician bill and he gave me a number to call... One Tim something. I misplaced it. Can you send the nos to me if you ve it? Thanks

Same here I didn't save the number because he called back the next day through his office and promised to do something. I'm back in Naija and I'm told my bill has arrived and it may be under $300. Need to be pretty sure but I feel the guy came through. Please the next person fortunate to have the number should save it. I'll go online now to do a search.

My advice is speak to the Dr and for male children arrange with your Dr to perform the circumcision. It weighs heavily on the bill.

CIRCUMCISION UPDATE: The thing is fine now. We didn't need to redo it. We just pulled the flesh down and the Dr. Set it to heal....Dr. Glenn responded. It's 'Naija' style now. No more worries and not a cent added for that extra service.

Please for those yet to buy ticket ..don't patronize any agent. Travelstart send me aquote of 370k just to change date from 31st August to 6th sept.

This waka was made possible by this great forum even my host sef was so surprised that I finished all the paper work so fast. Many thanks to y'll

Good advice. Although we used travel agents the thing is when or if you need to change flights call the airline directly. We used wakanow. Changed our flights by 2 weeks and only paid $72 (N14,250) to KLM no hassles.

Always be direct and try to leave agents be. Use them only if you absolutely have to. Most things have been explained here very well.

hello mums/dads,

i ve been a silent reader of this thread for days now.
i must confess, i have been learning a lot from here.

God bless you all.

i wish i knew about this thread when i had my baby in 2013 in Texas.
though my experience then was not so bad but i didn't really enjoyed my stay.

please, i need information on how to check on my baby's SSN
my host then, who is my uncle opened an account for my baby and then requested for the SSN which i gave him in good faith.

on seeing the dangers behind sharing SSN with some one else, i believe is important to check my baby's status.

please help a sister.

am also a Dec/Jan mum, will be doing my visa renewal through drop box soon, believing God for a successful one.
