Though difficult, I know most people will find it easier believing that you don't understand what it is. Why? Because you ask what it is and you don't go around calling feminists into something that has nothing to do with it. You don't go laughing at them. You have not said derogatory things about them. You don't go making snide remarks about them. You don't celebrate when feminists are attacked and when I quote you and ask something, you see me as babygirlfl and not ohh that feminists is quoting me. She must be asking for trouble. Also when I reply a posts, you see babygirlfl's post and not that feminists post. You come in a topic and write your opinion.Why is it that all the known regular feminists don't have a problem with you. Why do we have problems with certain posters?

On feminism being turned into something petty, it would be like saying marriage has been turned into something petty on this section but does it mean marriage is petty? Most topics we have in this section is petty and we reply according to what we think. Yes maybe most feminists will agree on the same thing on that topic but it does not mean we are agreeing on that because we are feminists. It's other people that assumes every woman that wants to cook is a non- feminists and the one that doesn't want to cook is a feminists. Feminists in this section are judged on what people assume feminism to be and not what it is.Feminism is not talking about plates, dishes or how you want to serve your husband. It's about choice and worth for me. A woman can make the choice to serve her husband everyday. It does not make her not to be a feminists.

Although I can ignore sometimes but I'm usually not one to ignore some kinds of things except the poster is on my ignore list. Then of course they are wasting their time.
But for anyone else, if you call me names or insult me, I'll give you back. No time.

But what I recently noticed is that even people that you could disagree with on some issues and agree with on other issues may no longer be open to such arrangement. Like it's become an all or nothing case. Maybe because some folks don't like seeing others get along so they will capitalize on your moments of disagreement to put more salt in the injury. Their work is to fan the embers of discord.

I come kuku withdraw myself entirely. If I can't have an opposing view with someone I usually get along with without it turning ugly? What's the point then?

My post was directed at baby. I had seen some of the rofo rofo she and edwife had and becasue they had bought it back here, (this is the sane thread LOL ) and cabal was mentioned plus both ladies are decent ladies I decided to say something.

What I would love to see is respect of other peoples beleifs even though one may not agree with or understand it
I will be lying if I say that I have not seen snide remarks on clean unrelated threads & ive seen people call other people out just to cause trouble. Cococandy is a victm of this and I know its difficult to ignore, but many times these people just want to engage you and are seeking attention so the best thing is to ignore them.

we all cant agree all the time, but If only we can respect each others beleifs.

I dont understand feminism and I am being very genuine when I say that. I feel that my understanding has gaps in it becasue I see areas that I feel feminists should be in but I dont see them there and I almost want to shout from the rooftops "You need to do more, here, here and here"
I also feel that its been made to look petty and its mainly only discussed when it comes to cleaning and household activities. I beleive that there is more to it.

This is the only topic that I see that seems to divide this section down the middle but the problem is that even if you want to discuss it as adults, there are always people who will jump in and start stirring up trouble so the discussion gets derailed and no one has really learnt anything.
Its a shame, becasue as a forum and the adults that we are, one should be able to learn and share ideas.

However its not too late and if we all start subscribing to respecting each other regardless of our beleifs and not encouraging other people to disrespect or insult the people we are having debates with, then we can effect change.

Sometimes its good to talk and its even better to talk and more is acheived when one is not in the throes of an argument . . like now.

Everyone has said valid things and its all boiling down to two things; We need respect of other peoples views and zero tolerance for insults just becasie you dont agree with someone elses view.

Now if only 10 of us on this section did this, eventually it will have a ripple effect and others will follow suit.

The others who dont follow this will be in the minority and will look stupidd.

I know its very hard to ignore insults. but like I said, I have a 2 pronged way of dealing with it.
First I wont give you the oppourtunity and 2 even if you managed to, then you wont be indulged. It works for me.
