Bro, you are the ignorant one coz you have no idea what you are talking about. How far have you travelled within Nigeria or even the SW to arrive at that judgement? Show me an estate in the entire SE that can match these ones at Citiview estates at Arepo in Ogun state? These are the sort of cutting-edge ultra-modern estates that you only find the SW (in Lagos and Ogun, and the same company is already developing similar structures at Ibadan).
Estates ?
You have not seen anything yet. Travel out is all I ask, that's when you will know that there are more modern residential buildings in the east than old ones unlike in your places where the old houses dwarf the number of better ones.
High brow Lagos is the only scape goat.
What about your non estates ? Bro, let's leave story.

Correct. The few rich there have modern houses, having pulled down the old ones. There is a place called Akobo in Ibadan, it's all new houses there. But mokola, dugbe, adeoyo, gbagi, molete, sango, ife road, ojoo, sabo, and other places making up 90% of the city landscape are decrepit. I once lived in Ibadan and so I know this.

You lied @Francis. I keep advising younger folks that if you are offered any job of the same amount, chose Ibadan. You will make sense with your life in a few years.
Gbagi, old and new Ife roads, Alakia, Adegbayi all around the airport are not old houses. I once lived there.please don't come here and say things that are untrue. Rate Nigerian cities, how many of them can beat Ibadan? Its one of Nigeria's best.
Just like the op said, the old parts of the city is larger than most cities in Nigeria so also its new parts. I think that city will b next to Lagos economically in the next six years

Over 2 million igbos living there are the ones that are going to die. They are the ones dragging out the progress of ibadan because pre colonial and pre independence era before the influx of the Igbos, Ibadan was the largest and most developed city in Nigeria.

It seems there are four kfc outlets in Ibadan, meaning badan host highest numbers of kfc in Nigeria after Lagos. Why?

Ibadan has more shoprite malls than other cities apart fron Lagos and Abuja in Nigeria? Why?.

Ibadan has more highrise( multiple stories between 33 - 100 Meters) than any cities in Nigeria apart from lagos and Abuja. Why?

Ibadan is one of the only cities that has a planned CBD in Nigeria after Lagos and Abuja. Why?

]

Besides those things you highlighted, Smile 4g, an igbo managed ISP (it's actually owned by South Africans) launched their services at Ibadan, not even Lagos o. Why? Why not the SE? Even their own people know the importance and place of the city. cheesy Na bad-belle go kill them.

I did my IT in ibadan, you cannot come and be showing us the picture of KFC ( that is found everywhere) to deceive people here, the moment you enter ibadan, you begin to feel poverty.

Most of the pictures aresa is showing is eithera church, fastfood or public building. In oojo part of ibadan, typhoid is the order of the day because wells are built beside soakaways.

There are fine places in ibadan but its about 5% of the total size of ibadan.

Why u come do IT at Ibadan? When u knw you go feel poverty smellos nigga...
U no get brain...

Some of them don't know that Ibadan city alone(not the whole Oyo state.) is almost the size of the whole Lagos state.

Lol....that's virtually impossible.

Oyo state land mass alone - 28,454 km2

Abia state land mass - 6,320 km2
Anambra state land mass - 4,844 km2
Enugu state land mass - 7,161 km2
Ebonyi state land mass - 5,533 km2
Imo state land mass - 5,530 km2

All the Total Land area of South Eastern States barely measure up to Oyo state alone, so tell me, were those buildings built in the air or on water.

Hence this:

Match all the modern houses in the biggest city in all geopolitical zones across the country with those in Ibadan, when the houses in those cities finish, the remaining modern houses in Ibadan WILL still be more than those in the next two biggest cities. Fact!
