The first interview was before we can across this wonderful thread. So we stated that we were going on vacation and didn't vonlunteer the information on the pregnancy status of my DW. I think we even denied it when asked. The second interview was musch different. We prepared my DW to mention that she was pregnant and armed her with burden of proof.

Could the second refusal be linked to our first interview?

I'm suspecting so, it may be as a result of ur previous pregnancy denial or that your status has not changed from the time of previous denial. I hope the gurus will look into dis and give their opinion since I'm still a learner waiting for my own interview.

Congrats @Olokings, gaga and shawlar, the end justify the means. Wishing you guys safe trip back home wt your LOsss

Sorry Tobermom,

I have been reading so many pages in order to catch up to what's been going on here, it's being a while. So I was telling my Mom about the post you quoted and also pointed to her that what happened to you is a possible scenario when one tries to help....bingo, I got to your post on few hours later.

My advice to my people here, squeeze if you must and rent your own space, one may rent very close to your intending host so that you have people to check up on you or take you shopping on their free time. That way you won't end up in each other's noses and stand the chance of straining relationships that may otherwise last a lifetime!

Tobermom:

Hmmm, i was gonna keep quiet but since this point is being mentioned again i feel i should share my experience on the highlighted. I mentioned staying with family in my last post and for the first week everything went fine. Until last week when i started getting cold vibes, i was being frowned at perpertually. I felt i was in the way so i made myself next to invisible. By sunday my host and i had squashed the issue she said thats the way her face is and i should take it like that. I took it in good faith.
Now, ive not been feeding very well cos their eating habits are very different from mine. They eat things like cereal , oatmeal etc ( i dont eat these things) plus they can decide theyre not even hungry that day.( dont get me wrong theres plenty food at home. They just dont eat) So am i going to say me im eating sha. I cant do that, mama raised me better so i decided to do a bit of grocery shopping yday under the pretext that i had special cravings. You will not believe the reaction i got. My hosts mum was like what did you buy? I told her. She shouted Why? Who asked you? Is there no food at home? I was stunned! I apologized and said not so o that i was just strolling and bought these few items. She said your cousin is going to be very angry with you, im also very angry with you! See me apologizing on top. She said she went out to buy some items that morn and bread was included since i LOVE bread ( so my fears about not feeling free in the kitchen were valid) the next thing she said i should return the items. :ot. I was like i didnt pick up the receipt from the store. The next thing she called my cousin ( who's some months older than me) to report me. I just started weeping profusely. Someone i just squashed issues with another one is propping up for nothing! I felt like a child. Needless to say i called my hubby immediately and weve made other accommodation arrangements. We all know theres no such thing as a free lunch and that why i was trying to help out but it backfired real bad! Whats a girl to do?

There is an hospital in Sarasota, Florida that my friend found here. She I planning to go at month end. The package wasn't bad but you need to do your home work and call them.

Also, there are no testimonies about the hospital here so we really don't know much, she wants to use them so that she can go to Orlando with the other kids. The name is Sarasota Memorial, you may Google their ratings and all. My friend called and was told that the paediatrician bill is Usd 700 apart from the package stated online, they also mentioned that additional bills for complicated deliveries are negotiated.

elitebook:

Thanks Shelly. Florida it is for me. I will keep scouting for more affordable Hospitals so we can pay for decent accommodation and have our peace of mind. I just can't deal with the drama of staying with folks for 2months+. Nothing worse than being pregnant and miserable on top of it.
@Tobermom, I feel your pain. Been in ur shoes before.. The unexpected, unexplained mood swings and unsmiling faces. Smh. Pele! Good thing ure moving out. Do it with grace and gratitude and visit them once in a while if u feel inclined to.
All the best!

You ever hear of a WOMAN telling a pregnant woman that she should stop throwing up cos the sound is irritating..... said it's an involuntary action but was gently scolded to try & manage it.. grin cheesy grin

After delivery, i was asked why i no longer throw up, said i told you it was involuntary but i was informed that no one throws up in late pregnancy so it was a deliberate act to annoy... grin cheesy

I can't really call it cruelty, I think its what nerf & aunty call "intolerance" & "deep seated anger" especially when they see you come in almost on a daily basis with shopping bags & then have the audacity to say you are paying your thousands of USD medical bills in CASH!!! while they have to either use insurance or medicare..

You get dat kain money, use shakara dey talk "I'm paying cash, I can't use insurance ooo, come still dey squat, your case na sorry... grin

Lol busted!

Hello moms, I have been following this thread for a while and I have been able to learn a lot. However I need some advice.
My husband and I have been granted a 2 years B1B2 visa, His intention was to travel for a conference for his business which is the sole reason why we got the visa. At the interview I wasn't asked if I was pregnant but I am actually 29 weeks gone. And now I'm considering giving birth in the USA. I have a relative I can stay with in maryland. I need all the help I can get to make this dream a reality. I know I have limited time to plan and all.. But I'm sure any help I can get here regarding useful information from doctor, to Poe, to cheap hospitals will be appreciated.

biophysical as in biophysical profile? If yes

It's basically in plain English examining/monitoring/evaluating the fetal wellbeing, as in all round well being in-utero... It's a combination of different parameters too. It's has a score system I can't bore you with. And it's not some random regular tingy... There's usually an indication for it... In olokings wifey's case VBAC I guess.

It is called biophysical profile,A fetal biophysical profile is a prenatal test used to check on a baby's well-being. It is usually done after 32 week. It is done using an ultrasound and baby is monitored, the fetal heart rate, the breathing movement, body movement, body tone and amniotic fluid are checked and given a score. If the score is low, decision has to be made either to repeat the test, or monitor the baby using other test or to deliver the baby ASAP.
