So the government didn't withdraw the money, they only borrowed it to the federal governt by buying t-bills and bonds. All the same the government collected it and used it for recurrent expenditure. undecided is it not thesame thing

The only sensible and enlightened post so far. Pension funds have been invested in Tbills and FGN bonds issued by an administration that have spent over 80% of funds generated and borrowed on recurrent expenditure and yet the so called youths are blabbing about oshiomole's wife and personality

This rebuttal doesn't deny anything, rather it even confirms the FG drew that amount in form of bonds. Crude was sold for around $104 - $140 bbl then, why draw the pension funds by up to N3.5trn again?? What was that humongous amount generated used for?

A lot of silly doofus on nairaland these days.

you need to go back to school, you don't understand buying of bond? it is simply investing for people to borrow and make interest so that the liquid is not stagnant, the money is invested, that is how world trade center,Texas and many big investment are funded all offer the world, pension money is a long time investment and with low interest rate.

I believe Oshiomole than the rebuttal....just a matter of time, he would be vindicated again
The only way oshiomole can be vindicated is if he presents such statements with FACTS ...and i seriously doubt he is able to provide such since most of his previous and current allegations against the previous govt have been riddled with propaganda....

13 Oshi the son of Omole, lover of exotic maidens also bear their standard and sometime speaks for house of Alliance of Protected Crooks. Yet he knoweth not whence to speak and whence to hold his peace.

14 Oshi the son of Omole it was who spoke to people saying, “O good people, the household of Emperor Omanman of United World, had told me the names of those who looted our treasury and carted away at least six hundred oxen full of gold coins and precious gems." Whereupon the household of Emperor Omanman rebuked him vigorously saying, “Begone! We knoweth not what that sayeth for thou speaketh untrue words. We gave you neither name of who nor the number of oxen of gold coins carted from thy shores. Pray, tell where did thou hear this great tales, that we may inquire and enrich our knowledge.”

When you talk too much you talk out of point. Oshiomole is a disgrace in this regard. Let him resign and join the Sagay committee if he's so keen on the anti corruption crusade. Must he speak to the press on these issues be they true or not?

The problem of oshiomole is that he needed international attention desperately prompting to marry an international ashewo who he mistook for the kardashians, that one didn't work.

Again, he thought it right the another way to achieve his desire is to look for a known international figure and pick up a fight with the person, in that regard so many people will notice him. This made him to start to misguided attacks on okonjo iweala but it seemed it's not gonna work again.

Same he did when world attention was placed on jonathan, he tried sneak into the focus with his unprofessional remarks on the person of gej, but immediately the attention was removed from gej oshiomole stopped attacking gej.

Just like the international celebrities draw attention with some sex related news, oshiomole came out to draw our attention with the news that his new ashewo was a virgin.

You guys should just giving the man attention already cos that's what he's aiming for
what is dis one saying

You are a BIG fool. You cannot differentiate between that which is theoretical and that which is real practical. When you buy bonds you lend the issuer of the bond money. The issuer can then do what he likes (unless it a conditional bond) what he likes with the money but in the meantime pays the buyer interest. In this case the GEJ government has spent the money of the pension funds on recurrent expenditure instead of investment in infrastructure. Which of this is so complex for your brain to absorb?

The statement by the Pension managers is false and deceitful.

Enice:
most nigerians lack analytical reasoning. bonds and treasury bills are a means of borrowing by the FG. Now, what was the borrowed funds used for? To pay salaries and not develop infrastructures. Oshiomole is right.

eakenbor:
You losers criticizing Oshiobaba don't get it. 3.5trn of pension funds was invested by buying treasuring bills and Jonathan diverted the money for recurrent expenditure. What that means is that the FG, as at today, owns the pension scheme 3.5trn. What if the government is unable to pay back in the future, won't that lead to insolvency of the scheme? Please you guys should think with your head.

Meanwhile, I found out that ever since Oshiobaba got married to Iara, all the enemies of progress nor let am rest. Them say he marry the woman of their dreams. It's a free world. Make your money and snatch her from him instead of jumping at him at every opportunity on Nairaland.

retsonbiz:
NIGERIANS ARE DUMB.....The Treasury Bills and Government Bonds that Government Sold to the Pension Funds Managers....What did the Government do with the Money?

Oshiomhole is Right.....Most of the People on this Trends are Dumb.

@retsonbiz, @eakenbor, @Enice @WhoBeThisMan Thank you for saving me from the irrational and irate nairalanders on this thread. its a big disgrace, how low nigerians are, on serious national issues. what is wrong that Nigerians are so low and careless in thought and speech.

No wonder we are taking for a ride by just any bunch of opportunists in power. Once again the Bible asserts its authority "MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE" - Hosea 4:6

If Nigeria must survive, then we have to change our attitude, seek knowledge, and be objective in our dealings with each other.
