Forget the cultural nonsense. Where Obi of Onitsha sit those kings cannot even come close. Those kings you mentioned are equally powerful but the Obi of Onitsha is the most powerful king among them because he sits with other regional kings across the country unlike all those kings you mentioned

OfoIgbo:
The following Anambra traditional rulers are culturally above the Obi of Onitsha as there are tasks they can prrform for Ndigbo thag the Obi of Onitsha can never perform

1. Eze Enugwu-Ukwu na Igwe UmuNri
2. Igwe Nawfia na Igwe UmuNri
3. Igwe Enugwu-Agidi na Igwe UmuNri
4. Eze Nri (the custodian of Ofo Nri-Menri, the highest ofo in Igboland, jointly owned by the 4 principal Nri towns of Enugwu Ukwu, Nawfia, Enugwu Agidi and Agukwu-Nri)

Arguably, kingdoms like Oraeri and even places like Aguleri, Igbariam, Nnewi have powerful claims that will trump the Onitsha claim.
It was Zik who pushed the Onitsha monarchy when he held sway as a frontline nationalist, to the detriment of more deserving kingdoms, but traditionalists know the main traditional dawgz and the pretenders.

Ordinarily,I would have had you eviscerated for that bit of stupidity, but seeing as you're still high on the euphoria of a deservedly successful Ofala by the Agbogidi,I'll let it lie.
I'm old enough to have fathered you and that bit of flotsam you quoted.
You would teach of traditional institutions you know absolutely nothing about.Tell me,how does that work in that alternate universe you appear to dwell in?

I don't waste my time with people that lack common-sense. How did you know you are older then me? Stup1dity could be infectious at time, I don't want any of it.

These are the most powerful kings of Nigeria(Ooni of Ife, Emir of Kano, Obi of Onitsha and Oba of Benin). You don't mess with them, though some are late but their dynasty is what we are talking about.

I like the Obi of Onitsha, Long life to the King.

We don't even have to go down history, the Anambra state Traditional Rulers Council law that recognize and grade traditional rulers in the state is there for even the most lazy to look up.
Onitsha lie way down the list.
This thread is about celebrating the Obi though,if only the boy will learn to curb his outbursts

Agbogidi,ekene.
Traditionally,Eze Nri,Ogalagidi Aguleri are higher than Agbogidi but he is more more influential, powerful and famous politically than them all.
And unlike a lot of the Igbos Onicha worship their king and that has helped to elevate the status and position of Onicha as an economic nerve center is an added advantage.

A section of Onicha once resided in the Bini area and they have influence from their but their Igboness never left them. Their language, culture and traditions are all very Igbotic.

Obi Onitsha is the chairman of Anambra traditional rulers and so he can go and represent Anambra monarchs in some circles.
Eze Ilomuanya of Obingwa in Imo state is the chairman of southeast traditional rulers, so there are places he can sit that the Obi of Onitsha cannot sit.

But does that make Eze Ilomuanya superior to Obi Onitsha? Obingwa is an autonomous community that was created about twenty years ago or so. So Onitsha is much older than Obingwa, yet their king represents Igbo monarchs

Well, Nri kingship is hundreds of years older than Onitsha kingship, and is by far, more important to Igbo cultural life than Onitsha kingship whose only sphere of cultural influence is Onitsha.

You don't get it. Presently the Obi of Onitsha is not even the chairman of traditional rulers in Anambra State. So its not about who is the chairman of traditional rulers, it is about who is most influential among all the kings.

The point I am making is that the Obi of Onitsha carries with it a lot of weight and influence with it both politically and otherwise. These and many more has placed the Obi of Onitsha as the most influential king in Igboland. Where he stand no other king can thread on it. The doors he opens are powerful doors that all those little kings in Igboland cannot even dare to touch. I consider those kings you mentioned as little kings with exception of Eze Nri.

Obi of Onitsha is the most influential king in Igboland. You can choose to accept it or leave it. cool

You could be right but am not in the country right now, its unfortunate that I missed this year's Ofala festival but information my people in Onitsha sent to me stated that it is ongoing as it continued even today. It is usually a week long event with other groups coming up with different celebrations.

Being chairman of traditional rulers means nothing. Eze Ilomuanya is a little village head wi5bout any recognition. Mentioning him and Agbogidi in the same paragraph is a crime liable to beheading...I have been trying to be civil but you wanna piss me off.
