Hi @Justwise, I need a further clarification on the response you gave on my post in the previous thread.

I am a PhD student in UK with hubby here also on depandant visa but working.

We are making an application for my mother-in-law to visit due to us expecting a baby soon.

She is a retiree so the financial implication is on us (myself and hubby).

We will be presenting payslips and 6 months bank statement for hubby and myself.

Can we make the application from here using the online portal and also make payment from here or does it have to be made from Nigeria ?

@kaverd

We have repeatedly demonstrated what a healthy bank statement should look like. Positive cash inflows and outflows, also refer to as source of funds, income and expenses.

All the inflows must come from a verifiable source, therefore you are to submit evidence of business transactions, contract papers, award letters, receipts, invoices e.t.c.

There is no particular format explaining money lodgement in account, just have all inflows you feel could raise questions asterisk and briefly explain the source and attach the paper evidence.

Regards.
Thank you very much for the explanation..God bless you.

I seem to be in a fix. I am travelling to the UK on Monday but I cant seem to find where to buy BTA (Pounds). Union Bank promised to sell to me but on getting to their head office today they claimed they do not have pounds anymore. I also approached Access Bank and GT Bank. Feedbacks were negative. Using POS/ATM for transactions abroad will be terribly expensive because of the charges. Buying from the black market is equally expensive, the mallams on broad street are selling at N347 to 1 POUND. Can someone advise?

I do not know how to reach teleperformance victoria island or the UK embassy.Please, what could be the problem

What do you mean by business reference?

Since your father is the owner of both companies, he should use the Business Name and Limited Liability. Submit evidence of transactions, contract documents, receipts, invoices and any other document that is related to the business will be accepted, even from the inception of the business.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by frankloloko: 1:25pm On Oct 29, 2015
@frontpagelawyer, justwise..... what i mean earlier today ;;the reason why my dad cannot use his old business name is because of tax. The amount to be paid is too much. So he concluded to pay for self assessment tax from 2010 till date and that is 5k per year. So can my dad use the new limited liability with 2 years invoice, receipt .(not recent one) Is it accepted?

Hello Justwise,
Phew, after sending several mails back and forth with them, they said I probably chose a wrong visa type. They said there is a separate application for EEA family permit where I wouldnt be asked to make any sort of payment. I thought I picked the right one which was settlement. After they repeated the same thing in three emails, I decided to make a fresh application, because I had already confirmed the previous one, so no change could be made... lo and behold, the right visa type was just there titled : Other EEA/ Swiss Family member...sub visa type : Family Member of an EEA National.

Am so delighted.... cheesy smiley
Went to IOM for TB x-ray. Will pick up the result tomorrow. Will keep updating the house as I progress.
Thanks and do have a pleasant evening.

Please how do I make afresh post here. Can't seem to find my way around here. It's been years since I came to this site.

You just did.

Glad you found the right form

Frontpagelawyer and Justwise, I HAIL una oooh!

Just got our passports today and was issued visa. Would have made a silly mistake if I submitted my newly registered company without backing it up with my old business documents. Anyways, all glory to God and all thanks to FPL and Justwise...God bless you both!.

NB: Submitted in VI on the 14th of oct and it was issued on the 21st of oct. also my last visa was issued in Abuja, this one says SHEFO...lol

Lastly, FPL...I told you I did not sign the application forms I printed out and you said they might reject it, Well it was overlooked I guess!

Congratulations! Glad it turned out fine at the end

Oh, I did? Lmaooo! I honestly can't remember how I located where to make a fresh post, but I'd find my way again.

So my appointment is on Monday. Hubby should be on his way to Nigeria this weekend to see me and also to accompany me to the TLS,... do you think they'd interview us both?
Also, I picked 18th Nov as date of travel, is it too near? Can this hamper my visa decision?

Pls, my birth certificate... the one from National Population states that I was born in my hometown, the one from my hospital of birth is from a different state where I was born, and thats the one I entered on my online application. Will this discrepancy cause any problem for me, or I should just go with the one from the hospital?

Also, my documents do I label or use marker to indicate which is which, or I should just have everything in one envelop like that?

Thanks for your precious time.

Was it intentional?

I am afraid, marriage certificate is the only proof you have to support your application that you're legally married in accordance with law.

I contacted them but they said that the delay is because the are making more enquiries. I don't understand this even after paying for priority. Please has anyone experienced this before.

1. Have you been refused a visa to the UK or any other country before?

2. Did you do the application yourself or through an agent?

They should be the same as you can't be born in two different states.

According to TLS contact

You should be aware that you may experience extended processing times if any of the following factors apply, if you have:

previously been refused a visa for the UK, and/or;
previously been refused leave to enter the UK, and/or;
previously been deported, removed, or otherwise required to leave the UK, and/or;
overstayed a period of leave in the UK, and/or;
been refused leave to remain in the UK by the Home Office, and/or;
been refused a visa for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United States of America or the Schengen countries

So you might want to reconfirm

Okay. Thanks.
I'll go with the one from the hospital where I was born. Because there's no time for me to go to the NPA to request for a new one. It's just funny how they only ask for one's state of origin and local govt Area, and not ask where one was born. Then end up using it as the place where one was born. I should have gone back for amendment years ago when I I got the cert. Now it's come back to bite me in my behind. I pray they accept this hospital one that is all old and frumpy, sort of.

Yes you can apply from the UK as though you are you MIL, my husband's uncle lives in the UK and he filled out his aunts applications from the UK and also paid for it online, then the aunt printed from Nigeria and signed it ...done, hes done this for past few years, this is how I am doing my husbands spouse visa smiley

hope this helps

I don't think I understand you, your daddy's current company is just two months old so how can he pay tax on that? The old invoices and receipts got nothing to do with the current company so how can he include them?

Failure to pay federal and state tax as a business owner is a criminal violation of the law. Moreover the only way ECO's can evaluate Nigerian companies especially sole proprietorship is through its tax clearance certificates.

Since your father has two companies; and both old and new are still in operation. Submit both old and new documents. The decision to issue or refuse the visa might not be adjudged on the Tax Clearance certificate is alone.

2) can he use the old receipt and invoice both from 2013 (no recent invioce or receipts)
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by frankloloko: 10:56am On Oct 30, 2015
@FrontPageLawyer , sir he doesnt want them to know he had old business name because he didnt pay any tax . but he created a payers id since 2010 and when he got the new liability co there is a form he filled that he wont pay tax for some time . if he pays self self assesment tax can it help ? because he has old business receipt to show to them and they might think why he didnt pay tax for years . how can he explain that sir ? thanks.

What else do you want to hear? ECOs reach their decisions on so many factors . Read thoroughly where we advised someone with similar situation three weeks ago (old and new companies) he got the visa this week.
