Brethren, does anyone have information about the whereabouts a Rivers State awardee of YouWin 3 named OLALEKAN YUSUF? His phone lines have not been going through and he has a lot of cases to answer here in Port Harcourt. He abused the trust of fellow awardees and defaulted on his obligations. I know he follows this thread, and i want to give him the opportunity to right the wrongs he has done before i disclose them publicly. So OLALEKAN YUSUF, if you are reading this, ....... me my ......... pls

Hmm... Let me sit back and relax as this unfolds

With the announcement for boot camp, all proposed press conference suspended!

Another vicious circle. It is thus confirmed that no 3rd tranche payment till after boot camp, which we are yet to get the detail information, tentatively slated for two weeks from now. That takes us to October ending (making it over one year from date we signed our MOU).

Then another vicious circle of bureaucratic processes of of payment, which takes us to December, then a mail from YouWiN secretariat to suppose childish awardees, alerting us that we could be as senseless as diverting the 3rd tranche to festivities celebrations, so they have to still fix our funds till January to strike the record of 3 years vicious circle of YouWiN 3. Having commenced applications for YouWiN! 3 since 2013.

Then, we can celebrate our usual Nigerian factor: "YouWiN! 3 breaking record. One year programme started in 2013 and completed in 2016."

This supposed highly successful programme that would have been second to none worldwide, frustrated with Nigerian factor. And the secretariat Nigerian bureaucratic processes lend credence to critics.

Sorry, just thinking out loud.

Av actually not been active on nairaland . pardon my busy schedule bt i try to respond as much as possible on the watsapp groups .... the press conference was not suspended but as usual awardees are good at talking without corresponding actions. only 8 awardees aside aside the key leaders contributed . so we were left to do a press statement due to limited funds. the press statement was published in peoples daily yesterday. hopefully nations and daily trust will publish it latest monday. Hans been busy with the neccessary follow ups with NUJ GUYS in Abuja.
let me also stress that although a few awardees ( precisely 4) asked us not to go ahead it will be unfair in a democratic house to neglet the voice of the majority. One of them names witheld insited that thier opinion must be considedered and that we are not listening to advice.

We have made due consultations at d sec, bank and have had 6 meetings in kd, 4 or 5 in southwest, tarabba and lagos. we even consulted a SAN, before taking to the press .... personally i think that's consultation is enough .
We are also not claiming to be some supper intelligence we are open to advice and suggestions as you can reach us on any of the numbers on facebook wall. furthermore , we are also doing some back, stage informal solution to ensure payment commences soonest.

youwin money is safe in d bank and has not been embezled. finally pls note we are not fighting goverment,We will not allow the fear of few rob us of our rights .
see you at bootcamp

I wanted to support this press conference bt when i re-visited the MOU (section 17.2 and 18.3) i signed at Fed. min of Finance. This sections will remind all of us on the need to tread with caution in our actions as awardees! Do not cause anything that might warant d application of the above mentioned sections pls my people.. We must sample awardees opinion b4 venturing into something like this in the name of central Youwin awardees.. This just a priviledge and not a right, mind you that there is already change in govt, bt no change in govt policy yet..

Lets wait until after the bootcamp.. Wish u guys the best of luck!

Youwin awardees should think like entrepreneurs and stop all forms of sentiments and fear? Why should the government promise young people grants to start a business or grow their businesses and then fail to go perform it own obligations.

Some awardees left their jobs to start these businesses and now they are being frustrated ! The government have a duty to pay all remaining tranches to all deserving awardees.

And for those saying all these boot camp nonsense! How will boot camp bring about the release of the tranche? Just because you have been paid does not mean you should forget others that have not collected theirs, for instance the whole of ekiti and half of taraba have not gotten second tranche! Is that fair? What will you do if you are in their shoes?

I have been paid but I choose to fight for those who have not been paid? What about you? What have you done to make sure others benefit from the grant? Do you choose to fight for them or you choose to be self serving and hide your head?

Please follow the link, go to daily trust website and comment on how the delay has affected your businesses. Please say something good about Youwin and then go and enumerate your challenges due to the delay.

God bless your week!

We have had no less than 8 meetings with Youwin officials within the last month! We have gone to perm sec FMF and have written letters to her office on the delay in payments! We have made several representations with participating banks and the director (finance and accounts) FMF. What do you think you will say at boot camp that will change the story. Well to be candid! Your point is noted and for some of us that are putting enough efforts to see a solution is found, we only need your encouragements and support because if payments starts everyone will benefit.
Cheers .

just received the following email from YouWin :

beneficiaries, you are hereby invited to attend a

YouWiN grant.
You are also required to come along with a
printout of this email and a valid Government
Issue identification document.

Note:
Participation in YouWiN! is FREE for all
components of the program, and has not
authorized any individual or organization to
collect payments for participation. Candidates
and awardees are advised to make no payments
to anybody on account of YouWiN! participation
and are required to immediately contact the
secretariat should anyone request payment

YouWiN Programme.

N.B:
Please note that this email is sent without
prejudice to the prerogative
of the Federal Government of Nigeria to

I really cannot understand this. at least YouWin should finish paying tranche two before the boot camp. This is not fair to awardees who are yet to receive second tranche.

What was their response concerning the issue?
Re: Youwin Business Competition 2013 by Aleona: 4:43pm On Nov 05, 2015
If you are yet to receive any of your tranche funds, please accept our apologies for the delay. The reasons for the delay include:

· Issues with Stanbic IBTC and UBA. Currently 72 awardees in the second batch (T2B2) are unable to receive their second tranche for about 7 weeks now due to a garnishee on the Federal Ministry of Finance Stanbic IBTC and UBA bank accounts. Note that this is a legal issue which is not within our control though the Federal Ministry of Finance is working assiduously to resolve this issue.

· Issues with Treasury Single Account. In compliance with Presidential directives, the grant funds for the YouWiN programme have been moved to the Treasury Single Account domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria, and the programme now requires a code to access these funds. We are yet to receive the relevant codes from the Accountant General of the Federation, and as such the programme is not in a position to draw down from the funds and make payment to you (our beneficiaries).

So far all 1500 awardees have received their first tranche, 1007 awardees in the first batch of the second tranche have been paid and 143 awardees in the second batch of the second tranche have equally been paid. A third batch of 205 awardees for the second tranche has been prepared and this is pending payment. No third tranche payments been made so far.

We understand that the delay to the release of these tranches impacts your businesses and we are in discussions with the Federal Ministry of Finance to help expedite this process.
Furthermore, the second phase of our boot camp is in progress and feedback received from you has been very encouraging. We believe that the skills you have acquired during these courses will shape your businesses and position you for success. For those of you who are yet to attend the bootcamp, please take full advantage of this opportunity.

Did anyone else get this message from the secretariat
Re: Youwin Business Competition 2013 by gxworld(m): 6:29pm On Nov 05, 2015
The recent bootcamp, good feedback came as aresult of some awardees resilience to put those backstage of youwin under MEDIA pressure. I PERSONALLY FEAR that With this new email from sec awardees will be tempted to wait for another round of due process! its time for us to brace up ! put FMF in another round of strategic pressure ! The sec has done their best for us but we need to do ours. Am seriously advicing awardees not to relax now.... Accessing TSA may not be easy but with GOOD PRESSURE we can make the players expedite action! A peaceful march to national assembly not a bad idea or a courtesy call to the new minister !
As it stands now no date officially has been given for us to expect our tranches.... a stitch in time save nine!
