Can you guys collectively come up with a collection of persuasive reasons for why every Yoruba/Nigerian person should support regionalism?
I'll help distribute it.

Funny enough Amala politics was invented in Oyo state by Lamidi Adedibu grin grin

I wonder why there's no statue in his honour

Loool.

They'll have to make the statue with amala to create the realism synonymous with Yoruba arts.

But can amala withstand nature without crumbling? grin

That must be my Ibadan ninjas cos anything "amala" and "Ibadan" are like siamese twins. grin

Now I see why passingshiit is the amala politics maestro on these sides. grin

Lols

I hate those internet polittical jobbers. They can sell Yorubaland to the highest bidder.

You need to see Passingshit debating seriously with his fellow stupid jobber from the other side called TonyeBarcawhatever.

Those dudes sucks mehn. They are busy defending politicians when guys are smiling to bank closing lpfo deals on a daily basis.

Never trust snakes - most of them have alternate handles.

Anyway, I think both nn3nna1 and still-whatever are sisters but it seems the nn3nna1 is an emotional nutter and she was almost losing it back then. And Every time she's in culture section back then, the cray0la1 always follow her there. Then the still-whatever will just appear from nowhere. grin

The three handles are just weird.

Oyo Assembly Seeks Recognition For Young Mathematician

Oyo State House of Assembly yesterday passed a motion seeking official recognition for nine-year-old primary four pupil of a public school in the state for her prowess in Science and Mathematics .

Miss Morufat Yetunde Lawal is a primary four pupil of A.D.S Primary School, Fiditi and she emerged first at the 2015 Mathematics Association of Nigeria National Olympiad Competition.

She had earlier in 2014, set record as the first primary three pupil to represent the s tate at the National Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN) competition where she also came first out of 40 other contestants.

While still in primary four, Morufat equally represented the state in Abuja in a Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists (JETS) competition organised by Federal Ministry of Education where she won first prize in December 2014.

Hon. Fatai Adesina (Ibadan South-East 1) had raised a motion to that effect during the House plenary presided over by the speaker, Barrister Michael Adeyemo.

The lawmaker while justifying the need for the official recognition maintained that such a gesture would further encourage her to be a good ambassador of the state and that of Nigeria wherever she finds herself.

The lawmaker, also made some suggestions including a call on the House to “receive and honour Lawal Morufat Yetunde, her parents, head teacher and Mathematics teacher at a plenary session.

“Urge the executive arm of government through the Ministry of Education to work out a programme of academic development cum scholarship awards up to the secondary level for her and or link her up with the National Mathematical Centre (NMC), Abuja to access her scholarship.”

Another lawmaker, Hon. Oladeji Bimbo Olawunmi (Ogbomoso North), while contributing to the motion, maintained that best teachers are found in public schools, and called for support for Morufat, who she described as a pride to the state and Nigeria.

A voice vote called by the Speaker on the adoption of the motion to become a resolution received an overwhelming yes from the lawmakers.

In another development, the adhoc committee set up by the House on ensuring lasting peace among the Fulani Bororo cattle rearers and their host communities in the state had recommended the set up of peace committees at both the state and local government levels.

The suggestion was part of the eight point recommendations contained in the report submitted by the ad-hoc committee chairman.

Honourable Kehinde Subair to the House during the plenary which was adopted by the lawmakers.

Ngozi elete ponmo. Ngozi iyawo tupacshakur.

She was serving in Osogbo then yet she was bashing Osun State on a daily basis. It got to an extent that someone asked for the hospital where she was serving, maybe he wanted to pay her a divine visitation.

She saw the writing on the wall and deleted her moniker without returning.

Her parents would have been disappointed if they learnt she was attacked because she bought an unnecessary job for herself on internet.

She's left.

53 Make First Class At UI

Fifty three students graduated with first class degrees from the University of Ibadan (UI) out of 2,362 graduands in Ibadan on Friday.

The first class graduates emerged from the institution’s Faculties of Arts, Science, Clinical Science and Public Health.

Prof. Emilolorun Ayelari, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor of UI, disclosed this at the 67th Foundation Day and Convocation 2015 held at the International Conference Centre in Ibadan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that 14 of the 53 first class graduates were of the Faculty of Arts, 32 from Faculty of Science, one each from Clinical Science, Public Health, Distance Learning and four from affiliate institutions.

Ayelari said 494 had Second Class (Upper Division), 822 secured Second Class (Lower Division), 185 had Third Class, 40 in the Pass category, 177 from unclassified degrees and 48 diplomas.

He said the 53 first class graduates had become UI scholars, adding that the university would bear the cost of their studies up till their doctorate (PhD) degrees.

Ayelari urged the graduands to be good ambassadors of the institution wherever they find themselves.

Responding on behalf of the graduands, Ms Ejemenare Daodu, from the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, said they had come a long way but thanked God that they had succeeded.

“It was not all rosy. We experienced many challenges. There were times for laughter and times of despair.

“All the challenges we faced have shaped us into intellectuals that we are today’’, she said.

Daodu, who secured the highest number of awards at the ceremony, urged the students of the institution to be fully prepared for the task.

She called on the management of the institution to embrace the digital world that is growing fast.

“I look forward to a day when Nigerian students will on admission know the date they will graduate.

“What I mean is an educational system devoid of incessant industrial strikes’’, she said.

Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, who graduated from the Faculty of Law, said he was glad he succeeded, despite the his responsibilities.

Ayelari presented the incoming Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, to the audience.

He would assume duty on Dec. 1. (NAN)
