I am posting this question to Nairalanders to get opinions on what has been going on between my wife and the pastor. Maybe I am just being naïve, but there are so many things going on between them that I cant simply ignore.

I am in the Military, helping the nation to fight lots of bad people, so I am always traveling. Sometimes I would be gone for 3 straight months. My suspicions started when I started seeing calls in odd times of the night from the pastor to my wife. Then I noted that she has been deleting some messages from the pastor..

When I came back from the military base unannounced one evening, the first thing my wife was concerned about was deleting messages from her phone. I didn't show any interest at all, just spending time playing with our kids.

I took her phone to a friend at the computer village who happens to know how to recover deleted messages. Below are some of the messages from the pastor to my wife that has been deleted.

"Darling how are you and the kids doing? May the lord grant you blessings. Goodnite sweetheart"

"Sweetheart, I waited for your call all day but didn't hear from you. Did you get my messages? Please call me"

"Darling, just wanted to check if you made it home safe. Has the drink cleared from you?"
- Wife repied " Yes I am home now. I don't have problem with drink"

"Are you still going to make it today? Let me know on time, I love you"
Wife replied - "I sure will. I love you too"

"Hi sweetheart, may the lord grant you your heart desire and abundant blessings. I love you"
- Wife replied "I love you too daddy"

Please advise. And if this happens to be true, Should I just expose him? Or send him to meet father in heaven on time..

There might be nothing bad going on with ur wife and the pastor, Nigerian women are known to trust there pastor more than anyone else. I have a friend in skul that worship her pastor like God. Imagine tellin me that her pastor told her that hacking and cracking of gsm network access (what we call cheats today) is not a bad thing at all, that he use cheats once he come accross any. So bow she use cheats cos her pastor told her so. Calling pastors names like daddy, lord, etc is not new thing, come on

If this is true then I don't think you need a prophet to tell you what is happening. You are a trained Soilder for that matter.

Proceed as follows in line with other comments u ve had:
1. Ask if there is anything she want to tell u by way of confession.

2. The answer u receive in 1. above should determine if u d ask the one below:

3. "If I read (past tense) ur SMS BTW u and pastor and share with u the exact wordings of those SMS and what goes on BTW u and pastor, what would your submissions be??"

I might be wrong but I strongly feel u should approach this with caution.

If indeed there was an exchange of such messages between the pastor and your wife then this is beyond mere pastor-congregation relationship.
You need to confront your wife with the messages and also the pastor.They need to be exposed.

Take the text messages to the pastor as evidence and confront him man to man. Dress in full fatiguee when you are going so he remembers your occupation. Try to read his expressions and explanation carefully.

OP think before you react, you know the consequences of committing murder, remember your children are there. Just blackmail the pastor with the messages Deal with your wife in your own way

@ op, i am very sure that even the Heavens will reject the pastor.
But what method was used to retrieve already deleted messages?
You need to have all the facts so you dont take any rash decision.

The truth is, your wife is having an affair, how you deal with it depends on you.
I suggest you confront your wife with evidence and deal seriously with that pastor.

Visit the pastor with some of ur colleagues. He will confess before u touch him. Ur wife obviously needs attentions and emotional presence in her life. She is jst praying dat u get killed on duty. Fear women

The chat between your wife and her pastor suggest a relationship that is out of the Normal. For your wife to be in a hurry to delete chat/messages from the pastor indicate an unholy friendship. The first step is to confront your wife before proceeding to the pastors. If your wife refuses the pastor's advances I doubt if he will force himself on her. Secondly what will be your action/reaction if actually your wife has cheated on you with the pastor. Thirdly is to make effort to build a strong unity/trust in your marriage.

BigRay, i would advice you to take things easy, be wise and apply wisdom to this issue at hand.

Firstly, i would say You are the one at fault now because you've not caught you wife in the act, you are just merely SUSPECTING her.
Thank God you're a soldier and you know the Law which says "No matter the Crime committed, no one is found guilty unless convicted by the law to be guilty."

YOUR FAULTS
I know you're a Soldier as you said, who goes away to serve his fatherland.
1. It doesn't matter your nature of work, your wife need you around not only for the Sex, but as a husband who lover his wife.

2. Once in a while your wife would have urge for Sex/your companionship which is very important.

3. Calling her on phone is not enough, you didn't marry her to be calling her, but to be with her.

4. Would you say since you've been away you didn't have an affair with any lady? Answer it to yourself.

TIPS
As you are around now, shower your wife with love and affection, do things you've never been doing for her. Make her feel like a woman that she is. By doing these things even your wife might wonder and may even CONFESS to you in a way that is favouring her side of the story.

For me, 3months without seeing your wife for a married man is too long. She might be tempted you know, just as the way you're been tempted wherever you go.
Becareful because this kind of issue has destroyed many marriages. It has caused divorce between couples. And the problem that is setting in your marriage now is that you are lossing you TRUST.

Don't act strange to your wife, just in a matter of time, the truth will be known. If i may ask, have you ever prayed for your marriage, your wife and your family in general?

Begin to play the role of the 'HEAD' of the family. Never treating your wife, let her feel safe with you even when she is guilty in anyway.
Protect your marriage, guide it diligently and don't destroy your union. Ask you wife questions, not questions of guilt, but question about you. Ask her to tell you what you've been doing that she doesn't like and don't be surprise with her answers. And this question must come in a time that you know is happy and excited...
I pray that God will protect your marriage. Remember, don't judge your wife or the Pastor. They are not guilty yet, even if they are.

That pastor di bad. He has used false prophesy to confuse ur wife. plus with ur line of wotk its obvious ur wife is lonely. Ehen about retrieving deleted mags, pls how can I permantely delete my deleted msgs to avoid stories that touch
