I have been following this thread for long, but am still confused, i have an offer with UOW, for MSC but way too costly (I can afford the pay to accept offer, but what about the next semester pay? because i have been getting a firsthand info regarding Wollongong and its scarcity of job grin grin grin more over 4hours a day to sydney where i might land a job is not rice nor beans grin). i deed my first degree in Zoology can i opt for advanced diploma in engineering which is an svp based on my current job now, many agent i have contacted says am not eligible to apply for a course lower than my current BSc, but only one TAFE institute is responding to my application for advanced diploma Engineering) will my visa be granted am too scared to proceed since chilsolm told me this, i urgently need help on this, cos wollongong hmmmmmmm might sound a warning gong soon embarassed.

Does it contain the course content and description.

I think you can appeal the decision.

Alternatively, you can find an occupation the associate degree can fit into and go for it. It doesn't matter if you come in as an associate, you can always get a job you want in your field of expertise.

It is really unfortunate. I know one other person that got negative assessment as Economist from Vetasses. And unfortunately, I couldn't find another occupation for the person. Why not consider your spouse occupation if you are married provided that the occupation is on the list?

Guys, I have tried to get advance diploma in engineering under svp but it's not working out coz I have b.eng already.. How can I be accessed for PR. My data.
Age:26=30
Work Exp:0
Course: chemical engineering(2.1)=15 when assessed.
IELTS: 6.5 eligible for assessment but no point provided that you have at least 6 band in all the modules.
Please am I qualified? How do I start? Please help

I can see that you are eligible but you don't have sufficient points at the moment. Research previous posts on this thread you will have all that you need to avoid using an agent. You basically need 60points altogether. And the best thing to do is to enrol for PTE Academics to gain required points from English test.

At the moment, you can proceed with your assessment with Engineers Australia. It is possible to get positive assessment within 24hours provided that you can pay more. Check the website for the details.

@NNBB2012,

I think he needs at least one year work experience. Without it, how will he write his CDR? Except he performed engineering duties in NYSC.

Oo, you need at least minimum of 7point in each band to get a point for language. The 6.5 cannot fly.

www.skillselect.gov.au

That is the website to start from, it has all info you need.

No, he doesn't need 1 yr experience to write CDR. I used to think the same way before until I read it again and did experiment it with 2-3 people and it came out well. It is difficult to write it though but it is something that he should be able to write. He can write on his IT (SIWES) experience, final year project and any research that he was involved in etc.

That is good news then...

Thanks for clarifying.

To answer your other question, for PTE you need minumum of 65 points in all bands to get 10 points for proficient english. You can use your ielts result for EA assessment.

Good morning. Will like ask if it's possible to get a positive assessment from Engineer Australia without being a COREN registered Engineer but with working experience.

Thank you.

Thanks to a senior member of this thread, I was able to pay my application fees.

I'm not quite clear about something though. I checked the 189 document checklist and it says I scan and upload "coloured copies" of my documents. However , on immi account it says "certified copies". undecided

Hi guys,

I have 2 questions -

Looking towards PR, what carries what points abeg? I know qualifications, experience and language test carry specific number of points. I'm also aware the required points is 60 to be eligible.

For students studying at non-regional areas, what are the other easy routes to PR? Since state nominations don't come easy as compared to th regional areas.

For Q1:

Here's what I'll like to call skillselect-points-calculation-made-easy. Enjoy...

http://www.harriswake.com/skillselectpointscalculator

For Q2:

You still need 60 points if you want to do skilled migration ie subclass 189, 190 and 489 (with or without schooling in Oz). Schooling in Oz just gives you additional points(which as you already know, gives you a few more points if the School is in a regional area). The link above will show you how many points you get for each criterion. So in effect, if you don't school in a regional area, you don't get the points for it, but you still need 60 points for skilled migration.

For other paths to PR that have nothing to do with skilled migration and the required 60 points, you can check out the other Visa types... maybe by marriage grin grin grin

Hope this helps smiley

Yes, you can scan and upload coloured copies.

Please NNBB2012, Do you know anyone who uploaded coloured copies recently with no hassles? I just uploaded all my scanned documents and there is no way to delete them and I just saw this on the checklist

" All supporting documents must be scanned and uploaded with your application. All documents that you provide must be certified copies of original documents. Do not include original documents unless specifically requested to do so by the department. Documents not in English must be accompanied by accredited English translations"

write the institution immediately and explain the situation to them.

Then ask them for permission to resend your certified documents through their mail box (email). Am sure they will accept. just to be on a safe side.

When uploading this time around, make sure you make reference to the initial application made, to avoid confusion.

I hope this helps.

Hello All,

Please has anyone done his/her education assessment with CPAA , using ICAN, + BSc certificates? Was a positive assessment given? I have been reading in other forums, that with ACCA , CPAA would definitely give a positive assessment. I am trying to take a poll if its same for ICAN certificates.

Cheers

That's no problem....if they are not okay with what you uploaded, they will send a mail requesting for what they need. Don't fret yourself.....am speaking from experience grin

@ Belong,NNB2012 ,futuredon and others please I need advice for a friend. He initially applied for nursing in Charles Darwin, skol had gotten to their quota, agent advised him to do psychology, he got a visa refusal cos of home ties and initial degree in Nigeria (theatre arts)

Now, he is finding it very difficult to get admission. 3 schools have refused him. I know I read of somebody that got a grant after initial refusal here.

Please what is he not doing right,February resumption is almost here, but no skol admission yet. Please advice

He should check the programs is he applying for if he meets the requirements. Requirements must be met before admission can be granted.

No issue bro, you are fine. Go ahead and upload every other document such as form 80 etc. Also arrange your medical, don't wait until you are asked to do so. You could get direct grant without the case officer contacting you similar to my case.
