LUCKY DUBE LYRICS
"Teach The World"

It takes a million people
To build up a good reputation
But it takes one stupid fool
To destroy everything they done
The world knows your people as
The most violent in the world
The world knows your nation as
The most oppresive in the world
Take it upon yourself
To restore your nation's dignity
Yo ho ho ho ho ho ho

[Chorus:]
Teach the world
Teach them right

It takes a million lives
To get the respect you deserve
When people see your kind
Some of them would run a mile
The world knows your people as
A nation of crooks
Everyone around you should
Always keep their eyes opened
The world knows your nation as
A nation of drug lords
Everyone blames your people
For the destruction of the world
Take it upon yourself
To restore your nation's dignity

IbnIslam:
For every verse of the Quran that is touted as "violent" and "intolerant", the answer generally lies in the preceding or the succeeding verses themselves.

The verse that you have posted is from Surah Anfal Ch. 8 verse 39. It is absolutely true and unadulterated. But didn't you notice that the verse begins with an And? Doesn't it indicate that there must be something before the verse that set the context of the verse?
Let me quote the preceding verse i.e. 8:38

Say to those who have disbelieved that if they cease hostilities, what has previously occurred will be forgiven for them. But if they return to hostility - then the precedent of the former rebellious peoples has already taken place.

Clear enough?
Verse 8:39 is in the context of those non-Muslims who were hostile to the Muslims back then. Islam is not just a spiritual entity but also a political entity. With the advent of Islam and the Muslim empire most non-Muslim tribes and kingdoms around it began attacking and waging a war against it. All seemingly "violent" verses refer to those who were at war with Muslims/Islam. As for general non-Muslims, the Quran clearly states that they must be treated with kindness and justice. Have a look at this verse:

Surah Mumtahana 60:8-9
Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
Allah only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion - [forbids] that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

So every case of terrorism you've ever heard of is Islam?

I employ you guys to read more please.

Anyone can be a Terrorist!

Oga I don't need to read more cos I have had enough reading and education that you will ever have in your life.

I have seen what Islam can do firsthand.... I have been in many Islamic nation and I have first time experience in Israel.... So stop the nonsense that Islam is Peaceland.

They call the Jews the problem but I ask this .... Since the award of noble prize for science and innovations .... Israel and the Jews have won 51% of all the award which shows they are our saviour when technology is concern.

What am saying is that Islam is the only people who can stop all this madness.... In as much as they still follow the teaching of the Qur'an the same will be case

What do you mean by that Islam is peaceful when the peaceful Qur'an encourages terrorism?.....

Do you ever wished it used the context "terrorists"....

When it had over 109 verses that promote killing for the drunk rapist Mohamed.... Bro I have Islamic study in medina and in Jerusalem during my industrial design with IDF.... See some verses

Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing...

but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)" (Translation is from the Noble Quran) The verse prior to this (190) refers to "fighting for the cause of Allah those who fight you" leading some to believe that the entire passage refers to a defensive war in which Muslims are defending their homes and families. The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, however, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did). Verse 190 thus means to fight those who offer resistance to Allah's rule (ie. Muslim conquest). The use of the word "persecution" by some Muslim translators is disingenuous (the actual Arabic words for persecution - "idtihad" - and oppression - a variation of "z-l-m" - do not appear in the verse). The word used instead, "fitna", can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. This is certainly what is meant in this context since the violence is explicitly commissioned "until religion is for Allah" - ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief.

Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time. From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding merchant caravans for loot.

Quran (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

Don't forget ... The slogan... Where is Allah's paradise .... It's in shadows of the swords.

Stop the nonsense... You know what your religion teachings and you know they are bad ......

What do you mean by that Islam is peaceful when the peaceful Qur'an encourages terrorism?.....

How does the Quran encourage terrorism? Are you referring to the violent references in the Quran? Is it any different from the ones in the Bible? I suggest you take a look at the Bible reading the old and new testament before thinking one religion is better than the other!

Fighting is ordained for Muslims in order to defend themselves and their rights, as well as the rights of others. You have foolishly taken a verse out of context in order to justify your ill-conceived premise. The fighting ordained by God in the Qur’an is the fighting to establish justice and security in the land, and this is a duty upon all human beings. We will always hope for peace, but we must realize that without justice, freedom, rights and equity, peace will never be able to survive. You have failed to keep in mind that this was written at a time much different from nowadays, much like the Old testament of the Bible.

Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing...

Before u start reading the Quran u should know the background of that surah, for example in this chapter, Allah ordered to kill the non-believers; you should know when this surah was revealed. It was revealed when they were being attacked by The Quraish (enemy) and they were brutally attacking Muslims when they were praying, torturing them, killing innocent Muslims, etc. Allah told them to defend themselves by attacking the Quraish. This was completely for self defense. For example, If someone is going to attack and kill you, would you just sit there and do nothing or defend yourself? A lot of verses in the Quran were meant for that particular period of time just the same way some verses in the Bible are just not practicable in the modern world.

You and the terrorists have one thing in common and that is ignorance! They kill because of their ignorance and you hate from your own ignorance!

What religion do you practice, if it is Christianity are you not ashamed of it? From the raping of young boys by Catholic priests to the lavish lifestyle the famous pastors are living, are you not ashamed! History clearly proves Christianity is one of the most deadliest religions ever from the Holy Roman Catholic Church to Adolf Hitler to the KKK but we all seem to forget easily. Is the Muslim community in trouble, yes it is but just like Christianity had its revolution, Islam must have it 's own too and be free from the extremists!

All those saying they want to learn quran definitely didn't think it through before saying it..
You are doing exactly what they want you to do.. They've planted the fear and evidently, they'd be reaping it with the way some of you think. If that happens, before you know it, you are radicalized and then in a year's time you are blowing yourself up somewhere in the North..
Y'all should just think before you make some utterances...
