I was born into a catholic family. My parents especially my mom is a die-hard catholic. I did all the catholic sacraments, baptism, confirmation, holy eucharist, except matrimony which would come by God's grace. I was known in my parish for being a devout member of some societies.

Fast forward to this day, I'm no more a catholic, I attend bible believing churches like faith baptist/rccg. This is because upon completion of my university education, I was inspired by the Holy spirit to know the truth, I couldn't prove so many catholic beliefs in the bible, and I care a lot about my eternity. It caused a lot of dispute between I and my parents and even up till today, they've stopped calling me or asking about my welfare. All efforts to convince them beyond reasonable doubt have proved abortive. Pls I need your advice nlanders coz I need to reconcile with my family.

Rather than throw ur modified faith into the faces of your parents, why didn't you practice your new faith in your privacy and then do their thing when you visit them. Afterall, all Christians are one and the same no matter the denomination. There are quite a lot I hav to say about ur change of faith but that would be for another day.

Except the Lord build a house,they labour in vain that build it.It's the Holy Spirit that can convince a man of the truth and not by wrestling with the flesh.Don't force your knowledge on them or shove it in their faces.
Can't you go to visit your parents or did they bar you?You should reach out to them.Visit them and relate with them without making religion the purpose of visit.They are first your parents and the bible admonishes us to maintain a cordial relationship with them.

I advise you talk to God about it. Then try and have a talk with them. They are your parents. I can understand your point, but do not allow this to cause breakage between you. Try and solve it out. But don't rush in doing it.

If your parents are going to pick their beliefs over their own daughter then they need to take a course on parenting.

U have no evidence about all u wrote n u have no evidence about the scriptures u quoted, they could all come from a Hebrew story book.

Now ask urself, what if ur d ones worshipping d devil n the Hindus worship the true God

The question is why do you want to make the peace now? What's the motive? How do you think your parents see you after all the embarrassment you might have caused them by abandoning duty?

They might be sulking why the hell did they spare the rod and spoil you.

As it seems now, you don't have the upper hand going into negotiation and any deal now the conditions won't favour you . Try to hold out and pretend you don't need them and see if they might reach out to you.

Focus and try to live out your dreams and at the right time when it would be mutual you guys will see a middle ground.

I am a committed Pentecostal,if I decide to get married to a catholic and my parent refuses,I will try convincing them but if that fails, walahi I will let go of that relationship.
Catholic or not,the most important thing is having this very personal fatherly relationship with God. every other thing is secondary.
