Some days ago, I was at a secondary school in Surulere (across the bridge from the Island) in Lagos for a friend's event where he is educating secondary students about the perils of peer pressure. I honestly wasn't expecting what I saw as the state of this secondary school.
It left me wondering if this was a school or a dump yard. Why in heaven's name are Nigerian leaders looking the other way while the young ones study in this sorry environment?

The attached pictures are what I saw. This is no secondary school. It's a hopeless shanty. I hope this gets to front page and attracts the necessary attention.

More pics. I now know that the name of the school is Eric Moore High School. Junior high and senior high are camped in the same quarters.

This is terrible. sad

And there are many many more schools like this all over the country.

If our government would only invest the majority of our budget into our education sector...but no, they refuse to do so.

Nigeria...It's near-hopeless...

All the time I was there, I couldn't help but imagine how the public would have reacted if this was in America. Plus, how does the country hope to produce imaginative students in this envrions?

This is Fashola's Lagos undecided
After racking in close to N300billion monthly and drilling 2 golden boreholes with N175million, not forgetting his master website,
this is the best Fashola can bequeath to Ambode. Yet, some gullible folks consider him an Awolowo undecided

we just like deceiving ourselves and being deceived.
Let the deception continue undecided

APC.......................... Change undecided

So all these Jakande school blocks still exist....no maintenance, no upgrade! angry

Government finds it so difficult to manage schools well despite huge funds being allocated. I know how my secondary school looked liked when l was there though far better than many secondary secondary around because it was originally by owned by Catholic Nuns before the state government forcefully took over, they allowed the infrastructure to deteriorate. It got a new lease of life when Tinubu returned the school back to the Nuns and they transformed it to what it now looks.
