If Buhari's administration is serious about local content and building a strong economy, it should be made mandatory that elected officials only use Nigerian vehicles, especially those of indigenous technology like IVM. BTW, this is one sector that GEJ and his team should be applauded, even though the bad supersede his good deeds. 61 Likes 1 Share |

Hopefully the purchasing power will be there for Local purchase, rather than having cars in stock and not able to buy, due to the situation of the economy 3 Likes 1 Share |

PaulJohn1: You still dey on IVM, a hundred thread will not improve IVM's popularity but if they do demos and a nationwide drive campaign then it is possible for buyers to see what the car can do. Product placement in a couple of Nollywood movies with good drivers will help too, remember Chevy Camaro from Transformers movie. The government is not the only business out there. 42 Likes 4 Shares |

4.6% of global sales! These guyz called Carmudi.ng may be referring to tokunbo sales. This report also says Nigerians would embrace hybrid cars cos of low fuel consumption and emmission. Since when did Nigerians start caring about emmission and environment? Na mufu the road side mechanic and rafiu the rewire go fix an hybrid car when it breaks down. 6 Likes 1 Share |

With the restriction of Naira card abroad and Forex how will this be made possible? Besides what has the APC done to this effect? Reaping the rewards of the GEJ regime in the automobile industry and yet GEJ never achieved anything #lying Apshit 11 Likes 2 Shares |

What a bloody lie. Which sensible investor will come and invest now with the various economic summersaults of this government.? The jonathan template for the automobile industry has been thrown out of the window or completely reversed. Airlines and other multi-national coys are making plans to finally move out of the country due to unfavourable cash policies of this govt. Propagandists. 4 Likes |

PaulJohn1: Not just IVM. Peugeot isn't doing a bad job. I see no reasons why we cannot stop our monetization policy for a valid auto financing plan for public servants. For example, teaching and non-teaching staffs in universities would benefit from long term financing options. 3 Likes |

You don't grow the GDP of a country with just one sector of business. Nigeria/ns largely depend on importation almost on every thing and with the recent fall of naira to toilet tissue and tight/useless laws on Dollars, exchange, and wire making it almost impossible for importers to do business the GDP is going no where! Bad enough we really don't have middle class per say in naija making business men and traders especially importers to play that role, our GDP will keep dropping without them. |
