As far as I am concerned, this sim registration is arrant nonsense by MTN!!!
They really want me to go "update my records" when it's purely their fault that data got missing. How do they explain this:
I misplaced my simcard July 2015, I went to their office for a replacement and they registered my sim. I got series of text messages in November 2015 to go "UPDATE MY DATA" I went after so much persuasion from family members. Now in January, they have sent me lots of text messages to go "UPDATE MY DATA" again. They have even threatened to "Block MY LINE".

However, I've decided to dump them before they disconnect my line........ I SIMPLY PORTED TO ETISALAT

Walk into any of their offices with a valid ID. Just tell then you want to port, they'll almost hug you. I ported yesterday morning within 15 minutes.

NCC should do more public enlightenment on number portability. It is amazing so many don't know all they have to do is walk into a Glo or Etisalat or Airtel office and port their numbers away from the corporate rascal that MTN is to another network of their choice while keeping their former number. No more losses!

....any Nigerian who gives mtn more than 30mins of his or her tym all in the name of sim registration is simply stupid, and jobless too.
Just yesterday 18th January 2016 I ported my mtn line (080361200**) to the Glo network. That's a line I have used for at least 11yrs.
We are so willingly ignorant in this country that we simply refuse to take advantage of the benefits of sim portability,.... I spent less than 15mins in the Glo office to port my line. Today I use the same mtn number on the Glo network.....
