Not a complete DIY but I changed my 2004 Honda Pilot ATF yesterday.

Tried to loosen the drain bolt but it wouldn't come off so I went to a car care center to loosen and do the change there.

Went with my own improvisation (kit used for administering drip). After about 2hrs and four (4) cans (manual said 3 but mine took 4) I tested it and my transmission shift was far better than before.

Now, I'll prepare to do another drain before the final ATF is put in. I did it myself but they loosened the drain bolt for me.

Changed my rear ac blower motor... Now, the rear ac works. Pics show old blower motor, old and new side by side and, new one after installation.

Thanks. Changed my Power Steering Fluid today and the inlet O-ring too. Did these after service.

Hoping to change VTM-4 fluid within the week if I have the time but, that will be done by a workshop. I already have the fluid at home.

What DIY's do I intend to perform on my car? Loads. What have I done so far? Tons. I'll post a couple of pictures to illustrate one of the changes. Just understand, this car is very much a work in progress, and it's far from complete. Evolution's the name of the game. wink

Actually, what I've been doing is preventive maintenance. The only major things I've done at the mechanic is brake pads changes which I hope to do by myself someday and the front disc rotors which were warped and the guys who did the filing did a very bad job so I had them replaced with new ones by the mechanic.

I learn online... YouTube, nairaland, etc. And, I just got myself a Chilton's repair manual for my model in addition to the free PDF books I've got.

I just try what I can do... Honestly, if I had the skills of Siena...

Hahaha... The funnel I ordered for that finally got to me yesterday so for the next change, I won't be using the drip kit. The tube is small and really took time but it was worth the effort. I'm not a doctor... But, I have a medical background from the university.

Changed all six (6) spark plugs today at the mechanic. Hopefully, VTM-4 fluid change will be done tomorrow. They didn't have the right tools to loosen the drain and refill bolts so I left.

Jedi Master Siena!
I really pity the person that would come in the stock 2.8L and want to have a dance on the M6 (or better, the Autobahn) just because the body shells look the same!
That 4.2L engine just looks like a caged wild animal waiting to be unleashed at the push of the pedal!

VTM-4 fluid change finally done today. The one removed still looked good but how was I to know?
Well, I thought changing it will remove the VTM-4 light which comes on the moment I accelerate beyond 60km/h but it still came up.
I'll have to be driving it like that. At least I now know the fluid is fresh.

Last month I finally had the chance to rebuild my front brake callipers. My driver side had become a bit sticky and had multiple torn dust boots... Some good boots were also swollen as I had erroneously used petroleum grease on them once.

Although I did this on my 03 Accord, the principles are cross-cutting for many brands. A few manufacturer specifics may apply though...

The complete procedure is on www.diyautoworksng.com

plan to do a boost leak test on the turbo pipes of the Octavia. fixed one turbo pipe boot that was leaking. so far no oil stains found underneath unlike before. turbo whistle has gotten a bit loud lately and the car smokes a bit upon brisk application of throttle.
also plan to blank the egr hole during the test. it has messed up my intake that was cleaned out sometime in august last yea and i have a feeling my egr doesnt seal properly. my fault though as I do a lot of short distance journeys.
intend to make the tools for the test using 2 inch silicone hose about 10 cm in length, 2 appropriately sized jubilee clips to secure the silicone hose, 2 inch PVC pipe capped at one end (5 cm in length), valve and a bicycle pump.

Here is a rundown of what I've done to my car so far, and what is pending. First, the vehicle itself:

Year: 2000.
Make: Audi.
Model: A4 Quattro Sport.
Engine: 2.8 V6 2xDOHC 30V.
Power: 193hp.
Torque: 280Nm.
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual.
Drive configuration: Permanent All-Wheel Drive.

My aim, as with most of my cars is to build a fast-road car, squeezing the largest engine possible into the engine bay. This has been achieved, and the spec is very different to what it originally was, as shown below:

Year: 2000.
Make: Audi.
Model: A4 Quattro Sport.
Engine: 4.2 V8 2xDOHC 40V.
Power: 360hp.
Torque: 440Nm.
Transmission: 6-Speed Manual.
Drive Configuration: Permanent All-Wheel Drive.

The donor engine came from my 2005 Audi A8 4.2 Quattro B5.
The 01E 6-speed manual gearbox came from a 2001 Audi S4 B5.

2005 Audi A8 D3 engine harness (partial).
Custom aluminium radiator.
VibraTechnics billet aluminium Motorsport engine mounts.
Audi S4 B6 / Milltek stainless steel de-cat downpipes.
Audi S4 B5 / SSAC stainless steel 2.5" cat-back exhaust system.
2004 Audi RS6 C5 power assisted steering rack to vane pump high-pressure line.
Mocal 13-row engine oil cooler.
Mocal 13-row transmission oil cooler.
2003 Audi RS6 C5 in-tank fuel level sender.
Triple radiator / aircon condenser cooling fans.
2001 Audi RS4 B5 dual cooling fan controller and harness.
2004 Audi RS6 C5 160 amp alternator.

INTERIOR:

2004 Audi RS6 C5 instrument cluster (200mph).

EXTERIOR:

Full OEM Audi RS4 B5 bodywork, consisting of:

Front wings.
Rear doors.
Rear quarter panels.
Side skirts.
Front bumper with lower grilles and foglamps.
Rear bumper.
Radiator grille.
Fuel filler flap.
Brushed aluminium mirrors.
Front wheel arch liners.
Rear wheel arch liners.
Rear wheel wells.
20% window tints.

Mine went pretty well. Completely rebuilt my PS pump and finally isolated the cause of a low speed front-end rattle over uneven roads. The culprit? My right engine mount. Changed that as well.
Sorry for the loss of your tools. I misplaced the 3/8 to 1/2" adapter for my 3/8 torque wrench angry during the Yuletide. Will need to have it replaced.
