It's disheartening reading this kind of piece.

As this is on a grand scale, so also we have individuals in the nooks and crannies of the nation killing the dreams of greatness of others due to their selfishness and material greed.

The question is this; are you not doing the same thing in that little world of yours sabotaging what would be of benefit for the greater audience?

Think about it.

GEJPosterity:

I can tell you a story about my dad when he was in the civil service and Julius Berger was still a small startup company from Germany.

The Lagos-Badagry Expressway (JB's first major project in Nigeria) was a contract JB got after presenting the smallest, most professional quote of all the firms that tendered.

After the tender, the 'Ogas' called the Germans aside and told them "See, that's not how we do things here. You can't present a bill this small and get a contract in Nigeria."

And to cut a long story short, more than 15 ogas had houses built for them or substantial cash kickbacks paid to them after JB re-tendered and came out with a winning bid of more than 15 times their initial estimate.

That was when JB decided to set up shop permanently in the autocidal sweetheart country known as Nigeria.

True story.

This country's darkness did not begin today.

I have no reason to doubt your story and that's why i refuse to support the excuse of ''the whites are to blame''

A whiteman who refuses to play ball will not get anything in Nigeria. If the whites couldn't stop the Indians, why should they stop us?

Is it not a shame to us that the Halliburton directors who paid bribes to Nigerian officials are all in jail in the USA while the Nigerians who demanded for and collected the bribe are still walking free??

I say it again......Somebody other than the God we all know created the Nigerian

LET'S HOPE THIS GOVERNMENT MAKES IT TOP PRIORITY TO BRING BACK TPE. ONE NEEDS TO SEE GOVERNMENT'S MASSIVE INVESTMENTS THERE AND CONSIDERING THOUSANDS OF EMPLOYMENT AND DEVELOPMENT IT WILL BRING. The Ajaokuta issue is something that eats me up to the bone, anytime it is mentioned.

The Indians employed expatriates (Russians)to assist them in operating the TPP. Just as the article said, why not invite the russians in the first instance? This country tire me walahi.

Thats why i tell people, Obasanjo had the best opportunity to turn this country around. He did his bit, but......., kai he was there at the right time to do better.

Lets see how far this goes, cos Ajaokuta matter na spiritual matter. God help us.

sincerely if I had the money, I would have published this piece on one of the newspapers. The whole world and some people who don't read soft copies like these needs to see this in hard-copy. I dislike most things the previous administration did but when you read chips like these, you begin to wonder that some of us were not born when so called bridge builders and leaders decided to play chess with the destiny of this country and not like a single administration is responsible for where we found ourselves presently. I'm just speechless. PLEASE GUYS CAN"T WE ALL CONTRIBUTE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY AND GET THIS PIECE PUBLISHED ON MAYBE THE PUNCH, TRIBUNE OR ANYONE?

The major thing you are leaving out is that the whites may have enslaved the Indians, but they did not consciously try to destroy Indian society and permanently damage the very mental integrity of the Indian. They merely came in and ruled those who were already ruling the Indians, so for the most part Indian society actually maintained its entire structural integrity.

With Africans and with West Africans in particular, the story was very different. Imagine giving birth to a baby and watching a white man from England take him or her from you and use him or her as live bait for an alligator because he wants the alligator skin. (This was a real and widespread practice btw). Imagine being whipped and forced to work for another man on your father's land knowing that you cannot help yourself and your people cannot help you. Nobody can save you. The only thing you can do is just pray to God and try to make it to tomorrow.

Day after day after day after day after day.

How will your mindset remain the same? Will you not become insane? Will you not start to direct your hatred of your oppressor inward after it dawns on you that you cannot defend yourself against him and he can do whatever he wants with you? He can rape your woman in front of you and your children and if you so much as look away he can put you to death right there on the spot. How will your children grow up?

Will they understand the value of pride in identity? Strength of character? Integrity? Courage? Long-sightedness and foresight?

No! All they will know is how to survive TODAY and how to be better than the other sorry negroes that look like them.

That is the slave orientation that was deliberately and systematically bred in us for more than 3 centuries. Your parents, their parents, their grandparents, the generation before them and the one before that were soaked and immersed in this toxic and hopeless slave culture created by white invaders.

So when you see these behaviours, rather than concluding that there is something genetically wrong with the African human, try to put it in context. No other people on earth have had their very humanity so brutally destroyed as West Africans, and two of the largest slave ports in West Africa were right here in Lagos (Ebute Metta and Badagry). Our history pervades our reality everyday and there is no running away from it.

A combination of Delta Steel , Ajaokuta and Nigerian Raiway Coporation functioning at full capacity
would probably absorb a large percentage of our engineering graduates to say the very least.

God wil realy bless u for ur efforts on how to move the nation forward by bringing ajaokuta back to life but dont be surprised if noting tangible comes out of it.
Nigeria is a terrible country that u wil be surprised some people wil be waiting for them to be bribed befor somthing can be done about it.
Talkin frm experience there was a time i was to execute a project in kwara state during sakari era, after d governor has aproved d project of just 2.4million on getin to the ministry we are told that som people has to take frm d money right frm d comisioner for agric who alredy took 600k frm d money to chief accountant nd so on at d end of d day they told us that money left for d project was 1.2million, i av no option than to just quit nd let go of d project.
So this is how things are so bad in naija.

You asked a good question in your revealing write up, that who are those Nigerians who are standing as the backbones of these dearing Indians, the answer to your question is a simple one that rest on deep history, those Nigerians are the Fulanis of Nigeria, the emirate system which has effectively integrates its working within the Nigeria government structure. Don't be shocked by this, they (the dark-skinned anti-negro Fulanis in power since pre-1914) will continue to make sure that nothing works to the developmental benefit of non-emirate regions of Nigeria, they will never stop employing whatever is in their power to destabilize progression and hamper growth in non-Islamic areas of the Nigeria where their control is not yet 100% and these oligarchs must continue to abide by the Dan-fodian injunction of using the resources of the indigenes native to non-Islamic areas of Nigeria to sustain the emirate system of the north, from their effective usage of economic manipulations, and governmental policies they continue to maintain their stronghold in the destiny of the amalgamation called Nigeria. Their strength lies in the fact that majority of those who consider themselves Nigerians are blind to their existence and ruinous mission against true African blacks who are land owners, unlike them who are actually aliens to Africa. They control everything in Nigeria but those calling themselves Nigerians are incapable of realizing this simple fact. NB: The light-skinned Fulanis are but yet another version of the Arabs who still maintain their strong historical connection with the Indians of Asia, the Fulanis were responsible for waging thousands of jihadic campaigns of Islam in west-Africa.

I was born and bred in Ajaokuta and my father was a staff of ASCL (Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited).. My Primary and secondary Education, I had in ASCL staff schools. Every time I think about what has happened and what is still happening to ASCL I feel like crying.. Its so so so painful to know how we as Nigerians have been so foolish and selfish in the handling of a project with such magnitude capable of Changing the Destiny of our Nation for Good. ASCL is the largest steel company in west Africa. Capable of meeting the demand of the Nigerian steel market, and even the demand of other countries, yet we have chosen to import steel from Egypt (whose Steel production Capacity is roughly equal to that of ASCL), China, Brazil etc
As a mechanical engineering student,in 2011, I had my Industrial Training (I.T) at Geregu Power Station (GPS) just a stone throw away from the steel company . And during the course of my training at GPS, the construction/assembling of the Niger Delta Power Company of Nigeria (NDPCN) was ongoing. I was quit interested in the assembling of the then-new gas power plant, and my curiosity made me to understand that 100% of the steel used for the erection/construction of the plants were imported .WHAT A SHAME!!!! .. The German company( seimens) that handled the project,at one point, needed to fabricate a part so quickly but were disappointed, when they went to the Metallurgy Institute of Technology (MIT) situated within the steel plant. It was discovered that the indians had taken Away vital equipments from MIT, hence the Germans had to carry out the fabrication in their own facility maybe in germany. All these happened very close to me while I was an IT student. Sometimes I ask myself if Black Africans are cursed...

The Soviet Union did a wonderful job in Ajaokuta by setting up ASCL. But the government and the ogas at the top has always allowed themselves to become puppets in the hands of western devils ( at least that's what some conspiracy theorist wants us to believe)

May God have mercy on Us

Our history pervades our reality everyday and there is no running away from it.

So what then is the way out of this problem? Do we keep on living in the Shadow of that horrid past? How long will we rely on that excuse to explain away our wickedness to our own selves?

Consider the ogas in your earlier post reproduced below

After the tender, the 'Ogas' called the Germans aside and told them "See, that's not how we do things here. You can't present a bill this small and get a contract in Nigeria."

And to cut a long story short, more than 15 ogas had houses built for them or substantial cash kickbacks paid to them after JB re-tendered and came out with a winning bid of more than 15 times their initial estimate.

Is it still the effect of the slavery that made them so evil minded, greedy and devious?

We can see they even taught honest Germans how to be crooked.

My friend, Indians also suffered in the hands of Britons. I l read of a restaurant where Gandhi wished to enter in England and the sign above the door read "dogs and Indians not allowed"

That to me was terribly debasing yet the Indian rose above it. We should stop making excuses.

You did not drive through the plant my dear, you were just driving outside and around it. If you did drive inside the plant, you would park your car, tear your cloth and pour ashes on your head, wail and cry blood. The story of Ajaokuta is one reason this country is not sustainable.

If you worked there, you would probably not be able to go round inside the plant foe more than a year. It is so big that people only go around there in cars. That massive giant is just Ajaokuta steel phase 1. Phase 2 and 3 were not even started

Op...I'm interested in joining a cause to move this forward. We're also currently making contact on the issue with the Minister. If you have a team of concerned parties, we could probably join. I believe you've taken the first step to escalate this with the President. The VP is another good point of call. Did you copy his office? We've been in touch and surely he can situate this properly.

This piece should be published on the national dailies in order to rouse enough attention that it deserves.

I have always suspected foul play in the Ajaokuta steel business.
Too many and frequent concessions.

How come the current minister is not acting on the letter from Russia?
