Saw your reply. I am interested in losing this weight. I am tired of being tired. I started again this morning. As at today I weigh 132.3 . I need to lose at least 50kg but I am willing to take it one day at a time. Would desperately love to have a buddy to do this with. Hi, I know this thread was last active 2nd Feb but I still felt the need to post what helped me lose 14kg over 4months just like I posted on the ttc thread. it's called the Egg Fast Diet and did it for 10days each each and the days am not doing it I eat a Low Carb, High Fat, High Protein Diet. NO PURCHASE of any slimming product required, NO EXERCISE required so don't force yourself of you cant.

EGG FAST DIET DETAILS (Copied from the Facebook Group with some editions and
insertions of what I did)

*INSTRUCTIONS: READ THIS FIRST (this was created by Jimmy Moore, a 289 lb /
135.45kg man, so adjust it to suit yourself).
He called this his "egg fest" and yes we call it an egg fast because we are fasting from
other food groups.

1. Must eat eggs as the primary source of fat and protein. (no meat just egg)
2. 1 tablespoon of butter (Real Butter Squares found in Supermarket Fridges) or
Mayonnaise or Coconut Oil or Olive Oil to be taken per Egg consumed.
3. I must eat an egg no later than 30 minutes after waking (NOT COMPULSORY)
4. The egg meals ideally should be eaten every 3 hours, but not more than every 5
hours. (NOT COMPULSORY) Eat when you feel like it.
5. I will follow this schedule even if I'm not hungry, however I'll only have 1 egg when
that happens. (NOT COMPULSORY)
6. Cheese will be permitted up to one ounce per egg. (real cheese only). (NOT
ADVISABLE TO EAT CHEESES, can cause stall or weight gain in a some people)
7. A minimum of a half-dozen eggs must be consumed daily. This means 6eggs
Minimum and No Maximum.
8. The eggs will be local pastured eggs loaded with healthy omega-3 fats and vitamin
D. (this was his personal preference) (NOT COMPULSORY, ANY CHICKEN EGG IS FINE)
9. Egg consumption will cease three hours before bedtime. (NOT COMPULSORY, EAT
IF YOU'RE HUNGRY)
10. Diet soda (Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, Diet Seven Up, LaCasera Soda, Sans Cream Soda,
H2O etc) will be allowed up to 3 cans daily with a goal of 1 or less. (Don't drink this
daily if you can)
*there is not a maximum amount of eggs to eat in a day however like anything just use
common sense and adapt to your own needs.
11. Drink your water... 6-8 glasses a day minimum.
12. Keep up your salt and vitamins/supplements including magnesium & potassium. (I
wasn't on any multivitamin when I did mine sha, so just continue with your ttc
multivitamin)
** We add BPC and mayo to the list here as we are high fat low carbers here.
This may be difficult if you are not already used to eating high fat diets.
You should be fat adapted before you start. Which means you should already be
following a LCHF (Low Carb, High Fat diet) long before attempting the egg fast. (NOT
COMPULSORY, I jumped in from our regular 9ja eating)
Do not add vegetables or meat until you are done your fasting period. Fasting period is
a minimum of 3 days. 5 days to make it worth while. You can do this for as long as
1month just like Jimmy Moore the Originator. I did mine for 10 days at each time I Egg
Fasted).
Many of us are doing 5 days fasting 2 days regular LCHF.
For example, avocados and nuts have carbs. We do NOT add them in the fasting
days. We do NOT use bacon fat in place of butter. Bacon has added preservatives,
sugars, nitrites/nitrates etc. and it all ends up in the fat. Keep that for your regular
LCHF diet but not when fasting.
Please do not be afraid to ask legitimate questions though.
Some folks drink BPC in the morning instead of eating eggs first and that's okay. It is
all about what you can stomach in the morning and that's ok to adapt for yourself.

BPC is bullet proof coffee. You can google it. It is adding 1-2 TBS of butter and or
coconut oil with or without a raw egg to your coffee in a blender. Some people choose
BPT (tea). I tried the BPC with one raw egg and its so creamy yummy you won't smell
of taste the Egg,won't even realise an egg was in it. I used decaff coffee sha due to
ttc things.
Cream cheese pancakes: 2 eggs, 2 oz cream cheese, cinnamon and sweetener to
taste. Blend in blender such as a magic bullet. Fry in coconut oil. Top with butter. I
make a simple syrup by melting xylitol with butter and maple flavor.
HWC is heavy whipping cream: not a part of the egg fast
WOE is way of eating
BPC is bullet proof coffee
BPT is bullet proof tea

Eggs can be eaten in various yummy forms and yes only eggs is what you'll be eating. You won't feel hungry at all cos Protein is filling but just in case you do, just eat more eggs as there's no maximum you can eat in a day. When I started 1st & 2nd day, I ate 12 eggs. It's safe and no cholesterol issues I did a before and after lab test and even had better after results. Besides you won't be doing this permanently, once you drop of the weigh, you start healthy eating and exercising which will keep of the weight lost and may even help you lose more. There's also another diet that I've done in the past that worked, I was losing about 3-4kg in the 7-8days of the diet. It's called the GM (General Motors Diet). Don't be surprised, I've battled weight almost all my adult life and have tried out several diets and products.

Some did work but I didn't change my eating habit after the weightloss and I always gain it ll back. That was my mistake but I've learnt. I've weighed in 94kg at my highest and currently weight 79.something kg to 80kg, it fluctuates like that. I use a digital scale so it shows me the points.

The GM Diet also currently has a free App on Android Google play store. Just search for it. The diet is something like this:

Day 1: All Fruits of your choice (except Banana)
Day 2: Vegetables Only. All Vegetables of your choice except Potatoes
Day 3: Fruits and Vegetables except Banana

etc.

Bloating and farting after eating eggs is because you ate the eggs with Carbohydrates/other things. The Egg diets even reduces bloating where it exits and reduces weight. You can just give it a trial for 3 days and see or better still apply to the Facebook group, its a closed group, an admin will review and accept, then read up on people's stories from all over the world. The one side effect of Egg Fast is the withdrawal symptoms from carbs which makes you feel like you have flu/malaria. it's called the Keto flu, taking Paracetamol stops it immediately, the 2nd which I myself also experienced is irregular bowel movement like I didn't poop for I think 2 days, so I just bought liquid paraffin from chemist and that solved the issue. Some people experience diarrhea (running tummy), I don't know the remedy to this but for me it might be good to just let it be since your body is detoxing as its losing the weight so no point stopping it.

It's not something you do permanently, you have to put a healthy eating plan and portion control on a normal balanced diet to continue after using the Egg Fast Diet to crash down your weight. This means eating healthy meals in small quantities, eliminating refined carbs and sugars, eating more Veggies and protein etc. if you like swallow, grind and use quaker oats as your swallow. It works.

www.africanweightloss.com is a Nigerian website with forums and weight loss
information using our normal African and Nigerian Meals like Moi Moi, Semo/Wheat
and Vegetable soup etc. They also have some meal timetables that one can adopt for
weight loss. The meal time table has various regular 9ja foods but with portion control.
Some people there follow it While others just do various things, share what they're
doing in the forum and just get support from other people on the same weight loss
journey as they are. They also have a before an after thread where users post their
before and after pics and give details of what they did to get there. They're all about
natural weight loss with healthy eating and portion control. You guys can check out the
website.

Please am not advertising them, I have no affiliations whatsoever and will not gain
anything from anyone visiting their site. It's just one of those things I learnt in my quest
to lose weight and keep it off. Like I mentioned in another post, I've battled with weight
almost all my adult life at several points. So I've done several researches, tried out
several diets and even several slimming products. So am only just sharing what I know.

FOR HEALTHY WEIGHT GAIN

To gain weight, grind and mix Cucumber with Dates (Dabino) and drink regularly. Dates
is very sweet but it's natural sugar so it's not harmful. Dates (Dabino) is brown and
sold by Hausa Men (Northerners) or in big Supermarkets like Shoprite and Goodies in
Lagos (Seen it in packs there). The mixture helps people gain weight in a healthy way.
Cucumber is a natural detoxify and very hydrating too. Also boosts Production of
Cervical Mucus. Remember to remove the seed of the Dates (Dabino) before grinding


Reduce Milo (All beverages), they're high in artificial sugars. Peak Milk is still better off,
high in protein and good fats but I think you should take in moderation especially if you
check the ingredients and it has added sugar. Refined Sugar and Refined Carbohydrates
are no good at all. Not good for the body and definitely not good for ttc. Take all
artificial foods in little quantity once in a long while and with time you'll be able to
eliminate them completely which is the best.

Sis I'll suggest you just go with a Prenatal instead of an ordinary Multivitamn. Prenatal Multivits are tailored to the needs of the woman as per ttc while multivitamins are not. For instance Vit A in high dose is not good for ttc and early pregnancy while its ok generally.

Please use the weight gain mixture judiciously overtime and update if it works for you with the quantity you take per day and number of days taken. It is well and shall end in praise to God.

If you haven't been able to sustain a diet, then stop dieting. In so far as you call it a diet or actually going on a diet, your mind will always trick you into feeling like you're being denied and in bondage; and of course your brain will rebel and you'll eat the wrong foods and in massive quantities. " For you to change your body, you must 1st Change your mind".

My suggestion will be to stop dieting and make healthy choices with portion control, your healthy choices should be high protein and low carbs. Tell yourself its your new 'Way of Living', 'Way of Eating' rather than calling it a diet. Change your Swallow to Oats (Quaker Oats, White Oats), You can grind and make it like Semo. Let your soup be more vegetable based like Okra, Edikaikong, Eforiro, Afang,even Egusi without added Oil etc. In fact you can use tomatoes/tatashe mixture to add oil colour to them without adding palm oil. It turns out sweet regardless. Substitute Oats where a recipe calls for flour. Eliminate refined sugar and flour in any form. . You can also use the Oats Flour to make things like healthy Pancake (Oats,Egg, Honey if you need to sweeten it). You can use the tomatoes/Tatashe as oil in Beans and Yam Porridge. Also make the larger part of our diet protein. Protein fills you for longer and helps minimize your sugar cravings, add exercise like Walking and Aerobic dancing and it'll start coming. Although you might lose weight slowly if you have PCOS but losing weight improves PCOS and will also improve your weight loss rate and other PCOS symptoms like Fatigue, Bloating etc.

You can go to www.africanweightloss.com and download free 2 9ja foods based weight loss meal timetables if you're into things like that. I've used both 2 timetables there and they work. It has things like Moi Moi, Akara, Vegetable soup. Or you can just use it as a guide to preparing your own meal timetable with food items you already have in your house. Planning your meals and having them on ground helps so that you don't get hungry and grab the quickest thing which is usually the worst things and also end up over eating them. Cleanse your house of all junk food. Just so that you don't feel like n bondage of a diet, you can choose 1day cheat day like Sunday where you can take one portion of something you're missing at a meal not the whole day. For instance, I love bread and when I was using this method to lose weight, I always make my Sunday Lunch Toast Bread/Sandwich sometimes with fried egg, no margarine or mayonnaise. If the cheat day, cheat meal turns to a problem, then eliminate it.

Weight loss, Healthy Weight is doable and achievable. Just tell yourself "I can, I will, End of Story". Should you need more support and or encouragement on your weight loss journey without weight loss supplements, am here for you. I a still on the same journey myself although on a more "weird" way of eating. I have manged to move from 94kg to 77kg approx. and still counting. My next target is 75kg and I'll take it from there till I reach the ultimate goal especially in terms of body fat % not just what the scale says. Take Care Sis. One Love.

Sis I'll suggest you just go with a Prenatal instead of an ordinary Multivitamn. Prenatal Multivits are tailored to the needs of the woman as per ttc while multivitamins are not. For instance Vit A in high dose is not good for ttc and early pregnancy while its ok generally.

Please use the weight gain mixture judiciously overtime and update if it works for you with the quantity you take per day and number of days taken. It is well and shall end in praise to God.

Good to hear you've started. sorry I didn't respond to your earlier question in time. Truth is there's no measurement for the mixture. You just bring and mix both the Cucumber and dates to your taste and drink as often as you like. The more you drink, the better I should think. I won't suggest drinking like it's going out of fashion, 2-3 times a day or whenever you crave a sweet drink. Continue to keep us posted please.

To make it easier, just mix a big batch that can last for 3days and put in the fridge. it will take the stress of grinding and mixing each time you need to drink.

You can also start exercise like walking and light weights or just being active in your daily activities and chores once you start adding weight. This will help keep a balance between muscle and body fat.
