Help: Creche And Preschool In Lekki/ajah by Sammiejo: 11:33am On Jan 05, 2014
Hello folks,

I am looking for a reasonably priced crèche and preschool in Lekki\Ajah. Ideal school should be clean ,safe and of a reasonable standard (preferably attached to a primary and sec. school). Should be located between Abraham Adesanya Estate and Idado roundabout and not too far from the express.

Fee range

Preschool (without uniform and books) - NGN (60k -80k) per term

Creche -NGN (40k- 60k) per term or NGN (15K-20K) per month

PLEASE HELP A SISTER. I NEED THIS URGENTLY.
BTW I have already made enquires at Child of Promise, Great scholar, New Hall, Chrisland and are all priced above my budget.

You'll have to go further down then. Addo precisely. They've got a few with a reasonable amount. I'm sure of parkwood. Almost same price u listed above.
If your not satisfied. Then jst take a drive through that same addo. You find one u like

A new Crèche and Preschool called Shandy Hall School has recently opened in Eputu, close to Mayfair Gardens, Lekki-Epe Expessway. It is worth checking out.

Hi @Sammiejo i'm in exact situation as you were in a couple of months ago. I have just moved to Ikota and i need a good but affordable school for my son (Primary). Kindly let me know if you were able to find a school within the range you specified that time, and if you did please let me know the school, their fees and their modus operandi.

Thanks so much in advance.

I found a number of schools with prices close to that range, but quality was almost zero. From smelly classrooms to broken school furniture to very small compounds and classes and teachers whose English were funny and high teacher to student ratio.

I had to increase my budget.
The schools I found ok for a 40% increase in budget at that time were Child of Promise( before Ajah round about) and Britafro International school( Prince Ibrahim Odofin street by picadilly suites)

If you a higher budget, try the Rock Montessori at Lekki Phase 1.

I have to say I got higher quality at a cheaper price on the mainland.

Welcome to the island.

Even for 150k sch fees you wont get same quality as schools who pay that amount on the Mainland.

There is an application that does that for you without stress. Go to www.schoolscompass.com.ng, select primary school from the homepage, at the right hand side of the resulting page, select your budget, check "Lagos state" and "Lekki/Ikoyi/VI" as your preferred location. You will see a whole lot of schools with there profiles including facility images and contact persons. telephone number and form. If you are confused, you can check compare against up to four schools and click 'Compare' to place them side by side for comparison. Right from the comfort of your house, you can visit many schools with schoolscompass.com.ng - best of luck!

Most of these schools are more than 100k a term. Some are close to 200k and over.

I don't. However, with the kind of facilities they have, i believe that it would be more than 100k.

My dear, they sent me their break down. Everything came to #201,000 without transportation for their toddler class. #133,000 is compulsory, while the others are optional (lunch, fruits, after school etc).

It is not a small something. sad

Schooling is now so expensive on the island. Most schools almost doubled their bills this term.

Hello House,

kindly advise which of these schools have the best standard in terms of academics: Kayrot, Lordsgate or artville. I just moved close to Mayfair gardens but the school that is close to me's price is so alarming. (green spring). Pls I need a suggestion as soon as possible so that I would't makes the wrong choice. Kindly help. I have tried using school compass but it didn't work for me. Schools will resume early next month and I need to make a choice as soon as possible. Thanks in anticipation.
Re: Help: Creche And Preschool In Lekki/ajah by Onegai(f): 9:59am On Aug 12, 2016
Schoolfees is now madness. We were told N280,000 per term for creche in Lekki 1 and everyone assured us that it was quite affordable. The cheapest I've seen was N230,000 per term. Schoolfees has more than quadrupled up (someone's fees came up from N600,000 to over N1m in a letter at the end of term with no prior warning). I've been told even the mainland is not being spared. Parents of children who are heading to Primary school are now opting to relocate outside the country to be able to afford quality, reasonably-prices schools (Father stays here, Mother moves with kids or both of them move depending on if their jobs are no longer able to afford a sensible lifestyle). People are selling off cars to raise schoolfees for the upcoming term or moving their kids to grandparents or relatives outside Lagos state for Secondary school. So many cannot afford a regular school anymore.

I feel if one parent is not working, get educational resources online for British curriculum, hit a bookstore and prep your child through PreKinder. Because why on earth should one pay N600,000 per annum to learn how to write 1,2,3 and A,B,C? Organise playdates for kids. I've met some mums who did that and their kids turned out great. And one supermum whose kids became superstars is now coaching other kids.
