I one's spoke with 1 of the Marketing Manger at jabi Abuja. I asked him a few questions as to the spec of the supposed car he was marketing (IVM), to my greatest shock he had to clue shocked. Even d basis like the horse power, hw many plug/cylinder or how many liter gallon, he doesn't know anything about the car his marketing, he just told me that is the same spec with modern car nd if I give a purchase order of 1000 cars dat he would deliver even out of Nigeria.. I gave him my opinion, that the ideology of hoping on government purchase or the sentiment strategy of telling Nigerians to by our own, is actually limiting the company vision and outreach, companies like KIA, FORD, RANGE ROVER, LAMBOGHINI, TOYOTA, etc all this company all built nd developed their market, giving consumers a reason to leave all the brand in the world to come buy Ford or Toyota, and that's the approach IVM should seriously start considering, building a culture, followership towards their brands, where me myself have pictures of innoson vehicles in my phone/laptop and can't wait to have my own IVM, give ur customers a reason to leave all the products and come buy ur products, d fact that it's made in Nigeria alone isn't a reason dat I should buy 1 i work very hard for my money so wen I want to buy a car I should buy the best, value for my money. The cars brand i mentioned above are all doing well in their parents country and widely successful abroad, owning an automobile company ain't easy so if decide to own 1 u better step up and the right thing, if innoson dat have enough money to invest in his market, I suggest he start putting a proposal to attract more funds from investors in exchange for equity, it won't be easy but there's always some 1 out there datz crazy enough to believe and invest, datz my piece. I hope I have made common sense to innoson motors... Oboy this my story long ohh cheesy tongue

Just a little observation on grammatical significance.
Proper phrase should be " I didn't meet any attendant personel (or sales staff, or Admin staff etc), I only met the courteous security staff "
Mr Grammar Police. ...is this a phrase or sentence? ... Contribution to the topic ...zero..... pot calling kettle black. @ topic... good observation op. I am not surprised. A showroom and paved parking lot should've been ready before the first car rolled off the assembly line. To date..they don't see these as important nor see the importance of keeping the surroundings and cars clean at all times. Same mentality with buildings...modern multi storey buildings with untidy surroundings. After all..." is it not the car you want to see?...and have you never walked in mud?...or been to other places like this?...I thought you came to buy car."

I wanted to buy a compact car of recent and I set my mind on Ford Focus or Honda Civic till of recent when I saw advert and promo for Innoson IVM FOX and IVM UMU so I decided to send a mail to @innoson for prospectus and their showroom in Abuja.
I received a mail from them three days later with the Abuja showroom No 10/11 Pope John Paul street off Gana street Maitama so I decided to visit yesterday. Here are my observations.

Positive
* I only saw IVM Fox (Pics below), Buses and pick-up trucks.

Negatives.

* I didn't get to see the IVM UMU
* It's not really a showroom, more like a car park - an unkept one at that.
* I didn't get to meet any staff (met the kind and courteous security staff). I came after office hours (few minutes past 6pm) anyway.

I suggest that Innoson Motors should extend their franchise for auto sales to private investors that can manage the marketing of the vehicles more efficiently so they can channel their energy on production to meet demands. There will definitely be high demand soon.

The IVM Fox is more of ladies vehicle, the size of Peugeot 307 but it is really a beautiful car, but i want something a bit bigger so I'm still gonna request to see the IVM UMU.

They should please erect a showroom, no matter how small, with all their vehicle models available at all times, and they should sweep that compound. Coscharis showroom and Honda place are far better managed, but YES Innoson can do better.

OP how much is this car? Did you ask for the price?

No one can forget in a hurry the reputation that Aba has garnered concerning fashion items especially. Is this the fault of any other except the manufacturers who uphold poor quality as a business strategy?

IVM vehicles are still young in the market. They can hardly compete with the older established brands. It is simple logic. I'd rather keep buying those strong and tested brands with proven functional after sales service than a nascent (risky) innoson. This has nothing to do with tribe.

The car looks like Matrix. I am proud.

I love Innoson but I am sorry I cant do Innoson for now until there is warranty on Airbags. Same thing applies for Kia and Hyundai.

Saw one Hyundai Accident and the airbag did not engage at all.

I wont be deceived by one senator who snapped with one leg in Innoson car and upload on facebook. Meanwhile the actual convoy is full of Benz and Land Cruiser SUVs
Markrting and packaging

You're a wicked person angry! Now that kind and courteous security guard will probably lose his job because of you. Visited the place after office hours, only to take pictures and circulate a negative critique online with specific details. That security might be kind and respectful but the person was obviously very st.u.p.i.d to have let you in after the close of official working hours. See where his courteousness has led him - falling victim to a snitch! Now if you were truly a helpful critic, then you should have stated that the first thing Innoson needs to review is its incompetent security team. Because had they done their job properly, you wouldn't have had the chance to broadcast that they keep an unkempt environment and should clean up, which on one hand is a positive critique but on the other hand is a knockout blow to Innoson's public image. Well, it seems Innoson doesn't care about that, and neither do I.

Nigerians you guys are terrible. You are the most complex beings on the planet, so hard to satisfy.

Do you think an organization who thought of the idea of producing these fabulous vehicles here dont know about marketing?

My point is your bringing the ostentatious value/ packaging of Innoson down before public glare. If you are smart op u will write to them in private(that is on the assumption that they dont know about showroom display as u think). Why bring it here for us to see? Is it so that some people who like ostentatious goods and effizy will say "ahh IMV is crap they dont have showroom. I am going to Toyota to buy"...?

Who knows whether they are working on their showrooms and before A,B and C who havent visited them yet get to find out they would have finished. But here is an over sabi op who thinks he is more exposed opening their 'yansh' unneccesarily.

I am sure thats the impression you want to create otherwise this is suppose to be u and innosons discuss and not our business

Funny...

I work in an organisation that appreciates complaints, customer feedback, and we even engage full staff to be online fishing for customers' complaints and feedback so we can IMPROVE.
I'd have looked the other way and gone back to Coscharis but because I cared, I decided to put up this mild post.

If you actually read through the write up, you'll see that my experience is balanced, not trying to blemish fact and not trying to overlook the deficiencies.

Innoson can easily ignore this to their detriment. They can also make effort to improve on their services. I have made up my mind to visit them again to see I can buy the UMU.

A lot of businesses gradually go down because they believe that people love them perfectly. I love that customer that that comes back and complain than the one that will quietly leave, unhappy.

Open your mind.

Just a little observation on grammatical significance.

" You didn't meet any staff" yet "You met a security staff"

lol. This is a contradictory statement that nullifies itself and is void. i.e It has no meaning.

Proper phrase should be " I didn't meet any attendant personel (or sales staff, or Admin staff etc), I only met the courteous security staff "

Thanks for reading. grin

This post was hurriedly put up as a distraction from my reading in the dead of the night when you probably were still asleep. I saw the error and I do not care. This is not a grammar class.
Thank you for the observation anyway.

Building cars is not new technology. Innoson builds great cars - same parts and suppliers as other companies - If we took out the labeling, you wont know the difference so be quiet.

Was I not fair in my analysis? This is my experience, to me it was negative because I wanted to meet a sales rep or something but I didn't. But I equally recognised that I was there after office hours (judging by where I work). I wold have just said I didn't meet anybody and that the gate was left open.. My opinion is fair. I was impressed by what I saw in terms of the vehicles but I was not impressed that they had a dirty compound.

WHat do you call 10 posts on innoson everyday on cartalk?

Even if the posters was answering his own question and begging/blackmailing government to buy their car doesn't all these talk traffic amount to marketing grin
