Quite unfortunate. Bt really there is no case here oo nor insurance taken over any liabilities. Dats the advantage of bumper to bumper driving. The standard driving procedures state that there should be breaking distance and tryst me insurance people are aware of this. So make all man carry him vehicle waka. Abi we know hear say any vehicle wet jam person for back na him buy market ooo.tis a pityyyy

It still doesn't explain how "sudden braking" caused the accident. Going by your version, "using a mobile phone while driving" was the cause.

you might not be tailgating, but if someone is tailgating you or isnt concentrating, you can still end up in the pile up...i was involved in one, i braked fine, but the Venza behind me had a poor reaction time and rammed me from behind, like a KC boy carrying his best lady, fortunately, my jetta has a crazy back-side, not a dent...but you should have seen the venza!

Hmmm this same spot I ha a similar accident at this exact same spot, just after the traffic lights. We had parked at d bustop due to at over heating issues with our car a new model bmw

And whilst sorting that out from nowhere came this 2014 highlander latest model he ran into a lady in a new 2013 Crv Infront of him, pushed dat aside and Ws coming for us by d road side bt luckily ran into d covert dats wat stoped d car if not it Wud had to bash smtn else or our car to halt itself. The lady simply called her insurance coy and told d other driver to notify his boss dat he will get d bill.

Don't think it's Ws caused by just slamming brakes alone else won't be this much cars involved and not this dramatic. I think d Benz SUV or danfo most likely suspect failed brake or lost concentration and ran into the car Infront of it with lead to d domino effect u see there.
Just look at d danfo almost ontop of the next car I think the other cars where not in motion or in tight traffic at d time hence how close they all where.

There sure will be serious life traitening injuries. Observer that a green and white Ajah vanagon bus was wasted and seem I see loads of blood on the ground around the bus. Lagos drivers don't understand what is called braking distance on the highway. They wanna leave as little space as possible on the car ahead of them. Always so much in a hurry.

I was there live, they were all speeding to beat the traffic light that was already showing 'yellow', the first driver remembered LASTMA and slammed his brake...others come join body..too bad

A natural reaction time was not sufficient to have an effective braking. Someone mentioned on top and i agree, we need to learn to give some space between ourselves and the car in front to allow reaction time and sometimes to be able to see the obstacle in front of the cars in front.

perfect response,this same reason is why i hate tailing other vehicles, either heavy duty trucks or light vehicles,only do bumper to bumper when in traffic.
