The immediate family members of former President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, who died on May 5, 2010, are in London and plan to
hold special prayers to mark his sixth anniversary.

A source in the family said they were led by Yar’adua’s widow, Hajiya Turai and would offer special prayers for the repose of the former Nigerian leader’s soul.

Umaru Musa Yar'Adua (16 August 1951 – 5 May 2010) was the 13th President of Nigeria. He served as governor of Katsina State in northern Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 28 May 2007. He was declared the winner of the controversial Nigerian presidential
election held on 21 April 2007, and was sworn in on 29 May 2007. He was a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

In 2009, Yar'Adua left for Saudi Arabia to receive treatment for pericarditis. He returned to Nigeria on 2 May 2010, where he died on the 5th.

Don't always aspire for a position your health resources cannot sustain. Life is better than tittle. You should avoid the do or die temptation when your life is at stake and juicy stuffs are staring.

The death of this man gave life to the death process of PDP.

He would have been the best president Nigeria ever had if he had been alive to finish his tenure. His very short tenure was a testament to this fact. He is one of the few leaders that has the genuine interest of the people at heart.

I will for ever be grateful for him for increasing alawi right before I went for service , not forgetting his reversal of the sale of NEPA and the pump price of fuel to 65 naira. Even Oga Jona didn't learn anything from him.

Unlike APC and Bubu that blames everyone and everything but themselves, Umaru Yar'adua have the sense of responsibility, humility and forthrightness to even admit the election process that brought him to power was flawed.

Continue to RIP great one, we love you but God loved you most.
