If you've ever been in a position where you desire something but constrained by cost due to other important priorities, then you can relate with the story I'm about to tell. Please don't get it twisted, this is not my first time around Tecno phones. I've used two briefly Phantom Aplus and the Boom J8. I wasn't too cool with the phantom APlus  But Having had a feel of J8 and seeing it compete comfortably with my LG G3 vigor which is way more expensive, I decided to buy it. I never hid my love for the phone here on Nairaland. Somewhere along the line, through searching the internet, I caught wind of W4; TECNO's first Android 6.0 AKA Marshmallow Phone  I made up my mind to buy it for two main reasons. 1. It is Android 6.0 2. It was cheaper at  Little did I know that I would be getting so much value for much lesser. I found out about other features which has made me a stickler to this particular gadget. I'm going to be talking about it in my own layman language. I did this with my LG G3 because I was yet to unbox the phone at the time. You can juxtapose this with the picture quality of the phone charger and earpiece I snapped using W4 below and reach your conclusion. Two downsides I noticed though is that the charger has two connecting rods, I prefer three; secondly, the earpiece is very good for those who like to have a total music experience, but me, I prefer to be aware of my environment sometimes when listening to music. (Pictures attached) THE DISPLAY & SCREENSHOT FUNCTION I was told that the phone is a 5.0 inches HD IPS Touch Screen, initially I thought it was Fabuu, but using it now, I can say that it lived up to my expectation. Moreso, I noticed that the 5.0 inches screen size of the W4 is bigger than that of my LG G3 Vigor. Secondly, for me, gone are the days of having to hold the volume and power key just to take a screenshot which most times ends up getting spoiled because that volume icon tends to mess it up. CAMERA FUNCTIONALITY The phone came with an 8MP camera. When I saw it, I was like pfffttt. BUt to my surprise, the picture quality is amazing really. My LG G3 is 8MP as well but the picture quality is nothing compared to this one. Hey there, Miss? Buenos Noches. I find it distinctively decent of you to give your [hopefully honest] thought's bout this device. Something others are seemingly not willing to do at the moment. I'm considering getting this middle range device right now, the boy is in a rather temporary broke state. I'd like to know how badass the audio output is? How weighty does it get in the hands? How smooth does the 1GB RAM handle pressure? How fast exactly is the Quad Core CPU? How responsive is the display panel? How long does it take from zero to full charge and how long does its cell perform under heavy usage? Instant replies would be highly appreciated. Gracias Amigo. 5 Likes |

Flashh:Hola Amigo, given the fact that she owns a G3 and has handled other "near to sophisticated devices", I think it's safe to place trust on her thoughts bout this one... Its a 23Grand device... Buh its seems its proving much more than the price here. Not everyone is on finacial stability right now, so it'll pay to makes some wise decisions on the rather "cheap plastics". 20 Likes 1 Share |

(oops, it refused to upload). I used my Q10 to record the sound. I did not tweak in anyway. My verdict is that it is Okay. I rarely listen to Music via phone speakers. For maximum experience, I prefer headsets. It's heavenly when I play on a fully charged headset with W4 or any phone at all. How weighty does it get in the hands? Okay, so for this part, I detached my W4 from the pouch that came with it, and then compared to my G3.. Both of them seem to weigh same joor. Can't say which is heavier. How smooth does the 1GB RAM handle pressure? lol I'm not a pressure presser. I wouldn't know if there are other forms of pressure you can put on a phone. For the past 3 - 4 hours, I've opened a total of 16 apps. And I am told right there on the screen that i've used 233MB out of 1GB. I also have the option of cleaning the RAM if I think it's too much. Then there's DU booster which I seldom run, not because the phone has ever given me any slow or lagging attitude but because, I just have this habit of wanting to ensure a hundred percent optimisation, if anything like that exists. How fast exactly is the Quad Core CPU? How responsive is the display panel? If I had not discovered what I just did this evening. My answer to this question would have been *Okay* but I just discovered this SPEED+Engine feature in settings and the way the phone responds to touch abi clicks is sort of scary now. I mean it's super fast. I'm considering turning it off and returning to "Okay" mode. Afterall I wasn't complaining about the speed before. Prevention is better than cure. Before the speedwill cause me to dial a number in my bag one day and all my airtime will zap. I say this because there is this particular feature called smart lock. If you register certain locations on Google maps as your place of domicile, the phone won't lock. It can also sense when you hold it close to your body and won't lock. It is only online that I hear 1GB RAM complaints. I haven't had cause to. How long does it take from zero to full charge and how long does its cell perform under heavy usage? I wouldn't know what qualifies as heavy here, but then.... While I admit that the 2500mAh battery was a turnoff at first...I sha went for it because of masmalow and I haven't felt like the battery is a major ish. Maybe the reason I'm not feeling it is because I use 3 other phones, 2 are major smartphones. But then, in terms of daily usage statistics, W4 has topped the chart since I got it. I haven't ever left it to go to zero. Let me monitor it this evening. It is 60% now. Last charge was earlier this morning. So for now, I will say Battery consumption is okay though I have not yet configured battery optimisation on the phone (There is an option for that as well). 10 Likes

Tallesty1: I don't refer to myself as a Tech guru because 1. I do not own a tech blog 2. I do not believe in rooting phones. These aside, I can pretty much assert that I have held and handled major flagship phones. But I won't delve into those. I painstakingly created this thread because this is the first time in my history of using phones where I am getting value for LESS. My question is, have you used the W4? MizMyColi:Well, normally when I get a new entry level or midrange android phone, I unscrew them to see the internal. I have my reason for that. That is reason I will never use infinix phone is because the inside is thrash. Tecno J8 is a great device 2 be honest and it is value for money. My only problem is the bloggers that call it a flagship phone. It isn't a flagship phone. I can give a hands on of W4 not a review, why? Because I haven't used it well enough. Before I give a detailed review of any phone, I first of all load it with as many apps as possible, especially games and run them for a week or so because I want them to cache, it is only then that you can tell what the phone can do, whether the hardware is capable of running the OS and how well optimized they are. 4 Likes |

Tallesty1: It's meant to be called a music flagship phone. As for W4. I look forward to a review by this month end, hopefully. You should know though, that not everyone who buys phones loads it with all kinds of apps and games. I don't think that W4 is the kind of phone you purposely load with many apps and games. Having downloaded all my necessary apps and used for a week. I can say that it's really really cool for normal everyday user. For extreme heavy users? I can't say. 5 Likes |

Tecno phones are classless and worthless phones First tecno android phone I used was Phantom V7. Very problematic. Always rebooting Bad Bluetooth Bad camera Miserable battery etc in just 9 months of purchase. And when I took it to their thievery customer care, they charged me 18k just to fix a cracked calibrator that is still active. Minus the charges for other problems oo Even my Samsung galaxy 5 calibrator doesn't cost that much. I just dumped the useless thing their.7 Likes 2 Shares |

I'm still trying to come to terms with how you compared this W4 camera to LG G3. Like the actual LG G3? That's a joke. Maybe it's a different version biko. The picture isn't shabby, but it's not great either. And the LG processes better quality pictures than that. You just committed a phone blunder... pls don't do that again  4 Likes 3 Shares |
