d same psi as dat of a small car.
Yes you are correct and in addition to that, you can't even fix the tire of a jeep on a small car because it will never fit.

Actually, best practice is to use the tyre pressure recommended by your car manufacturer and not the tyre manufacturer as they sometimes differ.

Because the same tyre can be used in different cars with differing weights and therefore bear different loads, you should use the manufacturer's recommendation.

This can be found on the inside of your glove box compartment an on the "B" pillar of the car when you open the driver side front door.
I beg to differ with u
The pressure on d tyre is best to be used bc its specific for d said tyre
The pressure set by d car manufacturers refers to that of d tyre the car originally came with, so what of if one has a change of tyre?
Re: How To Avoid Tire Blow-out By Pumping Right Pressure Into Your Tire by mu2sa2: 7:26am On May 18, 2016
The only reliable way to ensure your tyre is pumped to the correct psi level is to buy your own air compressor; the device roadside vulcanizers are using to measure the guage is usually inaccurate.

But checking d tyres of d car I saw max 51psi
I think the best notion is to check what's on d tyre of d vehicle especially if one has had a change of tyres before after car purchase.

Use the Cold Air Pressure rating given by your manufacturer. Don't stick to the tyres cold air inflation pressure reading.

Op it's tyre not tire...

If you go through the write up critically, you'd realise he wrote it on purpose and not because he couldn't spell it correctly...

I think the moral of the write up is of more significance here!

Have a good day!

Tyre = British English

Correct.

Somewhere before or after the 51psi, the word max or maximum is writen.

Thats meant to be a rated maximum in any case this tire is to be used. The actual pressure is writen on the car.

Please, know the two things there. There is maximum loading writen there as well as maximum pressure. Is your car the weight writen on the tire that you would want to match the pressure? Your car has a specific weight, it is through the weight the car manufacturers chose the tire size and pressure. The tire manufacture doesnot know your car so they gave you a limit beyond which there is no guarantee.

As much as you are correct, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Tire also, which is just an American spelling.

My car specifies 30 PSI, it runs smoothly. Anything less than that, the car will tend to steer towards the lower pressure side or move haphazardly and the fuel consumption will be outrageous. Anything higher than that, it will move like I'm riding a stone on pothole infested roads and the brakes won't be very effective.

Very true. I use 45psi due to the rough roads we have. Anything less would make the car seem wobbly

why don't you spell favour as favor in your application letter
Why don't we drive right handed cars in Nigeria like the British? OP wasn't writing an application letter and his grammar wasn't bad either. So I suggest you learn the dangers of over pumping your tire, rather than spotting grammatical errors.

No to that.

A car comes with several specifications on labels. Aside that of tire specifications, there is one of Air conditioning. My car's refridgerant from factory is R134a, are you saying am free to change it to R12 just because that was factory and the replacement isnt?

If you buy a TV or any electronic item, you have to check the label before you plug it. Do you know that if you buy that electronic item and its sticker says 120V and you plug it any where in Nigeria it will immediately damage it? Why is that, because Nigeria has a standard supply of 220V. 160-240V is what they normally deliver which works with most appliances. US and Japan use 120V and give a tolerance of 90-140V.

The pressure you see on the tire is a maximum rating. That is, this tire cannot handle pressure beyond what is writen.

There is no tire made specifically for SUV. It all depends on your rim size. As a matter of fact. My Honda car uses the same tire with my Highlander.

Do you 90% of accident on the road are caused by blow-out?

You can find the right psi for your vehicle on the driver door..

Do you even know there's limit to what pressure you put in your car's tire?

The pressure pumped inside tire are measure in pounds per square inch (psi)?

Do you know that the maximum inflation pressure is indicated in a relatively small-sized print branded near the tire's bead (adjacent to the wheel).

Many lives have been lost due to the errors of our road side Vulcanizers in Nigeria, who pumped whatever they just dim fit into our tires.

Do you know the life-span of every tire is just 4 years?

WHAT IS THE RIGHT PSI TO AVOID BLOW-OUT:

Usually, your tire’s maximum tire pressure is somewhere between 30 and 35 PSI but here in Nigeria it seems all the road side vulcanizer's agreed pressure is 50 and sometimes 60 and that is about 70 to 75% increased psi.

Again you must have heard that if your tire is pumped to the maximum it performs best and reduce fuel comsumption! yes that's very correct...so i will still recommend increasing your pressure from the FEH recommended 35psi by not more than 10% meaning 110% pressure.
Here's how 1.10 x 35 = 38.5psi or max 40psi which is 14.2% increase in pressure.

The prescribed psi that you see by the doors side of the cars are only for new tires. It won't work for used and expired tires that are popularly used by the many Nigerian people. The Vulcaniser are right, they know many of those tires being brought to them are old and expired.

What you didnt mention is the fact that on most cars, the word "COLD" is written above or after the rated psi.

What the cold means is that the rated psi is at cold temperatures. This is because air pressure of the tire increases when the tire temperature rises. By driving, because of friction, heat from asphalt, brakes and ambient heat, tire temperature would rise considerably. Therefore it is best to pump air to recommended pressure in the morning before driving off or not far from the house/take off point before the tire temperature rises.

The correct tyre pressure for a Mitsubishi Pajero is 28 PSI. So less than a much smaller and lighter Toyota Corolla, which is 33 PSI.

A 2010 Honda CBR 600 is 36/42 PSI.

Don't assume the bigger and heavier car always has higher tyre pressures than a smaller, lighter one.

Every Car owner should have this. You can use it yourself to pump your tyre. Very useful if you meet your tyre deflated by lasma and agencies.
