There is something I am afraid of.
If care is not taking in this country, Nigerians will wish that corruption abounds for life to be better, because Buhari has proven that for corruption to be eradicated, Nigerians will pay the supreme price.

Must hunger and penury keep killing Nigerians for Buhari to fight corruption?

Is there really no other way?

Citizens of Nigeria may wish corruption abounds if that is what it will take for them to be alive.

Am afraidoo. Am afraid that a necessary evil may occur if Buhari does not change his approach to governance.

History carries it that what is happening now happened in 1984 which necessitated the coup de'tat of that time.
Ultimately, that coup served to save lives.

The question is, if Buhari keep on without caring that people now commit suicide because of poverty; who will save the Masses?

Well, if worse come to worse; a necessary evil will be imminent. The thing is: is it not getting worse already?

Children's toothbrush that used to be N100 per brush is now N180.

I used take my kids to choose their brush and would buy two each every month. Now, i buy one each and educate them on the how not to chew on the toothbrush when brushing.

In my office, paper is now gold.

But Omenka, Passing shot and keneking has something to say. Am not forgetting Modath too!

Seems like we have a large percentage of 'neer do wells' who do not live in the real world or are just too illiterate to understand that the world is generally facing an economic downturn mostly due to the drastic fall of oil prices. However, Nigeria's problem has been compounded by some rats, oops goats that used their stinking mouths and hands to steal Nigeria's money. Worse than armed robbers! And because they are too illiterate or myopic sighted, they just cannot analyze anything critically. They keep wailing 'nanny nanny boo hoo".

But you forgot to tell us the price of barrel of oil in open, how much was stollen and recovered etc. Try to balance the equation. All were caused by the inability of the drunkard buffon to save for the raining days just like Obasanjo savings saved us when economic meltdown came in 2008 and sweep Greece and other countries.

They have to be constantly reminded cos they've got poop as brain matter.

Your comment is very insensitive!

If everything were expensive, food should not be. If we had pragmatic labour and agricultural ministers, this would be a very good time to mobilise farmers at the grassroots. We don't import soil. We don't import land. We neither import hoes and cutlasses.

Instead, they removed the subsidy on fertilizer.

It's not you I blame. God punish poverty.
My bet is that you and a number of your loved ones have valid international passports.
undecided

Lol. Greetings Ma'am. I think the inflation is general and inevitable, considerimg the poor state of the economy at the moment due to fall in Government revenue.

Farmers, even if mobilised as you suggested. It would take atleast 18months before we feel the effects of the mobilisation. What I do not know is if this was captured in the budget adequately this year, and if it will be fully implemented.

But till then, the inflation is something that must happen, to foodstuffs and every other thing. Let's pray the agricultural minister does something tangible concerning home grown foodstuffs.

There's nothing I said above that you haven't repeated here.

A proactive government understands the 3 basics.
Food, Shelter, Clothing...
Food is paramount.
If such is not properly captured in the budget, then it shows government's unseriousness and lackadaisicality.
How can such not be PROPERLY covered and yet billions are budgeted for Buhari and co's feeding?

Your last paragraph is something I said as well. Agriculture and labour need to team up.
It doesn't have to be eighteen months, I disagree.
Nigeria should be able to cater for her eating needs in this country without sourcing any foreign material. Quote me anywhere.

But then, our ministers have other priorities other than solving our food issues, or don't they?

Yes, certainly. Nigeria can cater for her feeding.

The thing is, we haven't been doing that. This Buhari's first budget, if plans to become self sufficient in food production are in place now. It will take time before we finally get there. They won't plant today and reap tomorrow. They won't say 'oh we are mobilising farmers' and then the next week, food becomes surplus.

What I am saying is, for now, this things take time. I dare say alot of it.

Our ministers have always been inefficient. Except the one that handled agriculture during Jonathan't tenure, he tried.

And yes, most times, our ministers seem to have other priorities.
