Same tactics was used by BH in Nigeria. Lots of VBIEDs attacking Nigerian Tanks who tore the the attacks apart with tank shells.

Oh... And how many missiles do they carry?

What i actually find interesting is, they are kitted like the everyday Nigerian Special Ops soldier we see in the N.E. No disrespect to Nigeria, but i was expecting those SEAL members(only SEAL members use the FN-SCAR) to look all "gangster".

All JSOC units have acess to the SCAR

A Ranger battalion was the first to deploy in the feild with them

I found more info about that gun. Its called VKS/VSSK Vychlop (“Exhaust”), a suppressed big bore (12.7mm) bullpup.

Here's a link to it http://www.recoilweb.com/russian-rifles-suppressed-big-bore-bullpup-99025.html

Apologies as not African, but this insurgency mirrors Nigeria's.

Africaken254 already posted this video. The Iraqi Golden Dawn unit looks very solid and very well equipped. Anyone saying Tanks aren't required in COIN must be a dreamer. They are an important asset.

Those are for the Army, have you watched "Stealth"(that's for Airforce) and "Battleship"(for Navy inclined guys)?? Any recommendation(movies) you got?
Any of "Tom Clancy" movies is highly recommended.

Look For 'Full Metal Jacket' it's one of the best movies based of the Vietnam War.

I'm actually watching it right now.

Nothing new here, we've been expecting all of these since the past 3 years.

Super Mushak to replace the Air beetle and Diiamond trainer

Super-Tucano to replace our long serving Alpha jets

JF-17 thunder to become our primary multi-role fighter.

Nothing new here.

Some Nigerian military officials were in pakistan last month. For the numbers to be ordered, am sure no one can confirm anything for now until an official statement is made. But the previous plan was 24 in total.

Nigeria is expected to induct 24 - 40 jets in the coming years. We hope the fighter performs well in the Air-to-Ground role.

It's unlikely that Nigeria's neigbours would get the JF-17. They'll be probably looking at the L-15, YAK-130, Super-Tucano or excess French Armee d'l Air Mirage 2000s.

Surveillance camera footage has restored the deadly terrorist attack on the Gao camp of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) on the night of May 31.
The footage shows the car, believed to be carrying a car bomb, rammed into the camp wall before self-burning. Just seconds later, a huge blast happened just when the cam stopped recording because of damages from the shockwaves.
One Chinese peacekeeper was killed and five others were injured in the atrocious act. The North African branch of Al-Qaeda had claimed responsibility for the attack.

- Nigerian Army Mine Clearing UGV deployed in the N.E
I guess this Is not bought from USA.
Does USA sell IED detectors to Nigeria or AMISON like what they sell to India?

http://defence.pk/threads/us-to-supply-ied-detectors-to-india.255809/
I see They donated some MRAP that Is supposed to equipped with IED detector
If yes, means USA may really want to defeat terrorism

We got the mine clearing vehicles from Slovakia. The U.S mainly supports Nigeria with training, transport planes and OPVs. Nigeria hasn't bought any IED detectors from the U.S.

No.... the U.S donated mainly bare-bone, stripped down MRAPs which we haven't even deployed to the N.E or anywhere for that matter. Zombie Relics!

The U.S is only a partner in fighting Terrorism in Nigeria on CNN and in the loud mouth of Christine Ammanpour. In reality they mainly play almost insignificant roles.

So .why do they deploy drones in Africa? If that's not for fighting IS or al-shabab? Only a symbolism? make people feel like they are needed. But In fact only serve their own interest.

The pic below is a joint Nigerian/Cameroonian patrol. To whom does the DCD Mountain Lion APC belong? I haven't seen anything from either DCD Protected Mobility or Mekahog saying their JV has secured an order from either country's military. Police forces, yes. But no military.

Oh! and by the by, when are you chaps getting round to installing radios on all your REVA APCs?

First off, only Africans can help ourselves.

Only Nigerians can solve Nigerian problems, countries carry out tasks based on personal interests. Nothing is for free.

As far as i know, American drones in the Nigerian battle-space are deployed for the feel good factor ...... Just to look good on CNN or BBC.

The Nigerian Air Force has a significant amount of ISR assets which the service deploys day/night for recon duties.

That's a Cameroun army MRAP, a US donated Cameroun army MRAP.

Don't MRAPs come standard with radios?
