Much that I don not support crime no matter how small, I honestly feel that three years for such petty stealing in harsh and out of proportion with crime committed. And to make matter worse, he was not given the option of fine. Please human man group should come to his assistance being a first offender. I personally offer to pay any reasonable fine that the court may impose in the alternative, because three years in prison will totally destroy and derail the destiny of this young man.

Abiodun said the convict conspired with others now at large to break into the apartments and shops in the neighborhood where they carted away some household and perishable
items.

The stolen soup ingredients like pepper, tomatoes, palm oil valued N2,900 and Indomie cartoon.

The suspect also broke into the house of one Afolabi Temitayo and carted away his television, antenna said to value at N1,500 and a bedroom fridge.

He said the accused was a student-pastor at a prayer ministry in Osogbo.

Abiodun said that the offence contravened Sections 516, 413, 390, 411 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.

The convict who had no legal representation pleaded guilty to the 12-count charge preferred against him when his case was called

Like my Bishop once said in a mass one day, the only difference between the so called looters in high places and those guys who steal paltry sums of money is the amount of money available to be looted.

Did the convict plead guilty? If he did, trial is not prolonged and sentencing is next sitting. 3 years is excessive sha! 3 years!
