The Nigerian military has scrapped its joint military task force in the restive Niger Delta. The task force, nicknamed Operation Pulo Shield, is to be replaced with “Operation Delta Safe”, the director of defense information, said in a statement.

He said the new operation would be carried out under three sub-bases located in Ondo, Akwa Ibom and the entire Niger Delta.
General Rabe’s statement reads:

“The OPERATION PULO SHIELD in Niger Delta has been scrapped with immediate effect and replaced with OPERATION DELTA SAFE. This is in line with the Defence Headquarters initiative to restructure the Joint Task Force for better service delivery, efficiency and effectiveness in line with the vision and mission of the Chief of Defence Staff to contain the current security challenges in the Niger Delta especially protection of critical national assets and provision of security in the area.

“Under this arrangement, the Joint Operational Areas of the new outfit have been delineated into 3 sectors and 5 Operational Bases covering the entire Niger Delta, Ondo and Akwa Ibom States. The Headquarters of OPERATION DELTA SAFE would be in Yenagoa.
“This development, according to Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, becomes expedient in order to inject new tactics and robust operational initiative to tackle the emerging security challenges in the Niger Delta region such as piracy, bunkering, vandalism and other criminalities prevalent in the area.”

These terrorists and their supporters will soon realize they cannot blackmail the FG.

Kudos to the military on their resolve to send the Ijaw/IPOB terrorists to meet their Boko colleagues in hell.

May God bless and continue to protect our armed forces.

President Buhari should bombard the ND with massive development and fast track the clean-up, but the support of many Nigerians for this government risks being withdrawn if it gives in to any of the terrorists demands.

Flush the terrorists and restore sanity in the creeks.

When will you be wise and realize you cannot blackmail the FG? The only slavery you are under is that of your mind.

Instead of making noise here why not make yourself useful and enlist with the terrorists, even if its as their cook or dynamite carrier.

u ppl should forget oil from this region of the country & keep waiting till u get the one u are searching for at lake chad coz all this millitary going to be fighting the war in Nger delta will all be used as sacrificial lamb this time around.
The millitarY was in Niger Dlta some months back & pipeline were exploding like rocket in their presence & they could not make a single arrest.
i wonder what will happen if the military were the target.
U PPL SHOULD SAY GUDBYE TO NIGERDELTA OIL & dont forget to tell Dangote building refinery in Lagos to remember tht he wount get 1 barrel of crude from sss/se to refine in tht his refinery unless he has plans to bring in crude from oversea.

Buhari should read news headlines tommorow, the Avengers and Red scorpions will respond "adequately" to this warning. When a people say "No", you don't have the right to come from daura and force "yes to slavery" down their throats. You can only kill people's relatives for having a different political opinion, but thank God the skin of you and your family are not made of steel, Even after you die of your terminal disease, your relatives will keep paying the loan you have taken, some will even be forced to change their names and run away from nigeria. grin grin grin
GO TELL UR BRODAS IN CRIME THAT THEY WILL SOON MEET SAROWIWA AND OJUKWU IN HADES.
