Look. It's not compulsory to go international. Every artiste like every product should have a target market and stick to it.

Olamide is on track. He is doing well within his target market.

Whenever he is ready to transform, he can then rebrand and change focus.

One step at a time.

Look at nice, he got a chance to sing in the UK but he couldn't sustain the so called international Market.

Where is Nice today?

I dont agree with the point that his music is only for the Uneducated touts,I see myself as an individual who is well vast with knowledge and a strong educational background and I love Olamides music and brand .Breaking internationally doesnt mean you are breaking the bank,Olamide has his own Genre of music, its working for him and he is cashing out or should he exhibit a hypocritical attitude of International appeal whereas he is paying heavily for the unnecessary "international fame" which is only observed by us back home in Nigeria. He should go on with what works for him.

Well, As much as I hate the Nigeria music industry and the artistes. Olamide tends to be worst in limelight because he gained popularity off indigenous language and models of Nigeria interactions such as slangs, salutations, Nigeria street appeal, Apparel, photo Pose, Flows and flowery, Misongynistic potray of women and the likes.

So why isn't he recognized internationally.

Reason is those indigenous factors aforementioned is difficult for the international community to understand but it makes sense to Nigerian, Not just any Nigerian but the gullible and half baked educated once, the street hustlers, touts, loosed girls and club house.

As a 21st century man who relies on his brain for responsible living, Olamide is a bad influence to me and youngsters looking up to him. Wizkid and Davido are also bad influences but the difference is they use understandable pidgin/English and mostly sing about love to women , club and burning money but in English so the international community easily understands what they saying.

Warning- To you parents who dream of raising the Einstein, Tesla or Bill Gates of tomorrow then Wizkid, Davido & Olamide are all bad influence to your children.
Guy!!!!
What have these three artistes ever done to you?
Sadly, I have to say, I fully agree with you.

Because he mostly raps in yoruba. That's a recipe for local champion!

Flavor used to sing only in Igbo but became internationally popular after he started including English in his songs.

D'banj and Davido exploded internationally because most of their songs are in English or at least pigeon English.

Iamsynord:
Ybnl Boss and Versatile Music artiste, Olamide aka Badoo is one of the most respected and recognized artiste in the Country...

His versatility to rap and sing and also fit into different genres of music from trap to reggae to fuji and many more has distinguished from The crop of talented artistes in Nigeria today..

This brings one to the reason why the artiste has not been duly recognized internationally and outside Nigeria alongside his peers like Davido and Wizkid..

Why is Olamide name lacking in most international awards and the talented artiste not getting deserved attention from the outside World..

"It's better to be a lion in the jungle than to be a dog in a city"

What is the meaning of "international"? That his music should appeal to Donald Trump or what? How many American artistes appeal to the present day Nigerian music listeners? Almost ZERO. Very few, realistically.

Olamide has a style which works for him and his fans. We are 200 million persons for fucck's sake! Enough to make any serious artise a multimillionaire without stepping foot outside our borders.

Respect the hustle.

Op is talking international, while other African artiste are trying to break into the Nigerian market. There is money here and Olamide is hitting it big, I think that's all that matters to him o

I agree with your points though.

A wise Artist who struggled to blow will rather remain local, making millions and be relevant for long than to go international and make millions within a very short while and become flop after collaborating with 2Pac and Mohamed Ali undecided. This is the reason why Dagrin rejected shooting his video in UK instead, rejected idea of int.collabo, made up is himd to remain local within 9ja.

IN ettaetta's VOICE, Its better to be a king at home than to be a boi boi internationally. kiss

IN Davido's VOICE, owo ni koko [/size]
kiss

Sombori said David, wizkid and olamide are bad influence. The truth is for you to blow in the music industry, you just have to come up with one slang or the other. It is slavery if rihanna's work work work makes sense to you and you are saying olamides songs is for tout.

Anyway the guy dey try sha. Imagine phyno rapping in pure English, who go sabi am. Even I'll bliss, mode 9 wey dem dey rap for English, who sabi dem.

Finally, Asa way dey sing mature songs, how many millions has she made.
