That's Elizabeth. Highly expensive city. There is no amount you have that's enough as a student but before we continue, give details about the percentage covered by this 1/2 GA and is it likely that they increase the GA by next semester? Roughly estimate (by %) what you have on your own for the first few months of your staying?

That's quite intriguing. Don't know why folks don't like people who are over-weight.

Yeah window seat is the best and if you're lucky to get a pretty cool girl by your side, then the trip becomes more fun than you ever anticipated.

I'm not particularly concerned about anyone's weight, as long as it isn't the reason for my inconvenience.

When I pay for a sit, I expect to get 100% of it, not 80%, while Mr. Tubby claims 120% on his 100%, at my expense. smiley

But yeah, a pretty one by your side sure makes the long haul hours go by.

Try schools in Texas, wyoming, Tennessee, south dakota, north dakota, New Mexico. Simply search for Unis in those states n u will be fine. They are usually cheaper n living standard is cheaper, but you have to write the GRE. What range is ur undergraduate cgpa? Also, before you apply to any of those schools for SPRING 2017, make sure you send an email to the graduate director to ask about available admission spots. Spring admission is usually scanty and I think u should rather apply for fall 2017 in October this yr, its not too early.

Spring- schools rarely admit, budget has been assigned.
Fall- start of a new session 4 d yr n schools take in all the students they need n money is available. Tho, whether such money will reach u is entirely another struggle.

. . . and if it is a young male, intelligent, savvy, accomplished business executive/entrepreneur your trip will be less fun?

You young people are too women crazy life is not all about that tiny leg inbetween your legs.

Most of you will turn deaf and dumb like iced water even if a "pretty chicken" were to sit by them

Nairaland is now a social media to showcase a crazy attitude towards your seniors, right? Clap for yourself.

I guess you're a jealous type who goes about telling female folks, how bad a man is, not knowing that they are being turned on and when they begin to ask you about his contacts you start screaming like a goat. grin

It been answered before ...... Let me copy and paste previous response

Yes you can transfer after getting the visa to another school (provided you have admission offcourse) . Best to start it after you cross POE

The process usually is that you notify the current school's international office of your intention to transfer. The current school adviser will then have to transfer your SEVIS record to the New School with a transfer out date given. Until that transfer is done then new school cannot issue you a new I-20 (F-1 status).

You would be expected to fill out a new i-20 request form in the new school and once transfer is done and you get the new i20 then off you go .

The key to transfer is that your current school should release your SEVIS to the new school…If they don’t for whatever reason then hummmm you have a problem . If they do then, it is not complicated process

I always recommend you sticking to schools within your budget or finding GA before you leave. While student are allowed 20hours on campus , it is not in every case that you will see a job or if you see it might take a while . So great if you find a job but plan to see how you can get finances as backup, incase you dont get an oncampus job ... On campus 20hours would probably cover your rent (depending on how expensive the city is) and living expenses.

If you expect it to also cover half of your tuition, the struggle will be too much . You spend a lot of productive hours feeling very sad and depressed or drop out ...... Whether people find alternative way to work (maybe) but i cannot comment on that way as me no sabi that waka .

Regarding documents needed , it will be the usual requirement to get an i20 released.

Send me a pm
