HOW BIG WAS IT?
Could it take 20 million animals of which only about 2 million where insects?

The dimensions of the ark can be found in Genesis 6: 14-15

It wAs 300cubits long = 450ft

50 cubits wide = 75 ft

And 30 cubits high = 45 ft

Floor space is gotten by multiplying LENGTH X Width
= 450 X 75 = 33,750 sq foot of space

Wait a minute!

There was even more space than that! The ark was divided into 3 levels. This will increase floor space
So that is 33,750sq ft X 3 = 101,250 sq foot of space. For animals to stand.

Please how will 20Million animals stand within this small space?

That is 0.005sq ft to each animal!

Ok ok let me help God a little, the insects can hang on the walls all through the trip
So what is the area of the walls?

Side walls will be length X height =450 x 45
= 20,250 sq ft
There will be 2 sides so that is 20,250 X 2

= 40,500 sq ft


Then we have the front and back walls
Which is Width X Height = 75 X 45
3,375 sq ft

Times 2 (for front and back)

3,375 X 2 = 6,750sq foot

So let use see the surface area we can make use of in total
That is

101,250 + 40,500 + 6,750 = 148,500 sq foot of surface area including the walls for the insects to hang on

Noah must have used the roofs too!
Ok the area of each roof was 33,750 and there were 3 roofs
So that is another 101,250 sq ft extra!

So total area we can use including the 3 floors, 4 walls, and 3 roofs (ignoring the thickness of the timber Noah used and how much space the timber used for bracing the ark must have taken)
We have TOTAL SPACE of 249,750 sq ft

This space divided by 20 million occupants

Each animal gets 0.013 sq ft of space


HOW SMALL IS THIS?

This is a mere 3.9 mm by 3.9 mm! For each animal even after using all the space in the ark including the walls and roof!
That space is even too small for a common house fly.

So the ark was more packed than a can of sardines!

1. The dimension of 450ft by 75 ft by 45 feet seems very large to them in those days. INFACT the ark of noah is still longer than any modern day ship. So yeah it was a big dimension!
If only they knew it was not still big enough!


2. The story fabricators never imagined there were so many animals around the world. They must have thought it was only the animals in their locality that existed. So it was convenient to say all the animals entered noah's ark.

3. The authors never knew how much water was in the sky, it is just the way people claimed sango is the God of thunder. Yet today over 99% of yorubas have stopped worshiping sango and he has not been able to fight us. Why? Technology. There are lightening arrestors now. Even an airplane can fly through a lightening and nothing will happen to the occupants. So it was easy in the dark ages to cook up fantasies and myths and people believed easily

What is shocking is how many dumb people still exists today! That stories that were told to totally ignorant illiterates still gets the applause and homage of many today.

4. It is very possible there was a great local flood in mesopotemia and that was the origin of this myth.

What if it was by God's power that the ark could fit all those animals?

To answer this I would say, if God had this plan he won't have asked Noah to single handedly build such a large ark.

It takes use about a year to build ships that are not even this big and that is even with the use of modern technology!

If God had a miracle in mind, he could have miraculously provided a ship for noah or asked him to build even a far smaller ark that noah and his family could have easily achieved!

5,000years after it is still extremely difficult to build such a vessel talkless of with wood.

it is so obvious the story was calculated to be believable. The fabricators made attempts to make it as realistic as possible. Thinking of a big ark and even using tar to cover it. It shows that there was a deliberate attempt to make the ark physically fit for the job. This was not about a miracle, there was proportion. Such an ark would have been sufficient to save all the animals in mesopotemia, but the author did not know there were millions of different animals around the world.

So let us be realistic here is it was a miracle angle thing, the authors won't lay emphasis on the size and 3 levels and use of tar. Or the windows for ventilation. They tried their best to make it physically and scientifically real.

I gave my life to christ on an easter day 1996 along with my brother and sister.
It happened around 6pm or 7pm after we watched the story of jesus death on the cross.

So this means the number of animals on board must have been over 20 million or even as much as 40 million!!!!

There were more animals and plants 5000years ago than now. Millions of animals and plants are already extinct. If we put all those into consideration, the number of animals may be more than double.

So we may be talking about 40million plus animals on board.

We have not even considered the food the animals will eat for about 160 days they were in the ark. And all the waste the animals will produce. The amount of smell and carbon dioxide and methane.

1. What the bible says
Genesis 7:19 clearly states that ALL the mountains under heaven were covered by water.
Genesis 7:15 clearly said that ALL creatures that had breath were represented in the ark. Every single one on earth.
Genesis 7:23 said EVERY living thing on the face of the earth died even all the fishes (lol). ONLY those in the ark were saved. (I guess trying to make the ark look special, hehehehe. The writer of this story must have taken good quality weed)

2. Scientific approach
We were told in Genesis 8:4 we were told that the ark came to rest on top of mount Ararat.

Guess what? Mount Ararat is 5,100 meters tall! any water that will cover mount Ararat will cover the whole earth and only a few taller mountains will be uncovered.

God specially gave noah that design. The amazing ship that can contain over 20million animals with each animal using only a space of 3.9mm by 3.9mm
It was an amazing vessel.

All the waste (urine, faeces and gases; CO2 and co) were perfectly evicted.

And more amazing was the fact that only noah and his family built it. Using wood!
