APC SWEEPS RERUN ELECTIONS IN IMO STATE AS INEC DECLARES UWAJUMOGU SENATOR ELECT The Independent National Electoral commission, INEC, has declared the immediate past speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC,Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu in the keenly contested and tension soaked Imo North (Okigwe zone) rerun and supplementary elections as senator elect. Declaring him the winner of the poll, Friday morning, the INEC returning officer for the election, prof Arinze Agbogu informed that the APC candidate scored a total number of 56,076 votes to defeat his closest opponent, senator Athan Achonu of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, who garnered 43,815 votes. The electoral body had declared as inconclusive the rerun election held July 23,and fixed Thursday supplementary election in polling units where the polls didn't take place on the first date. APC had headed to the supplementary rerun election with a lead margin of 8,777 votes and completed the famous victory with a total of 12, 261 votes difference after smashing the polls on the second time. INEC equally announced the APC candidates in Isiala Mbano and Oru East State constituencies, Dr Chiji Collins and Hon Nkenna Nzeruo winners of the rerun elections also held simultaneously in the areas with that of Imo North Senatorial district own. This is a tip of the iceberg....By the time we are done with them In Edo State...they will quickly recognize Sheriff as the authentic Chairman of their dead party....Ndi ara!! This Is a party whose manifesto is lying, preaching hatred among ethnic groups, seting one religion against another, looting, supporting and sponsoring criminals, Providing logistics for terrorist groups like IPoB and Avengers..Yet they expect Nigerians to vote them... Good News. There are some on Nairaland,who I think live on Mgbidi Road in Anambra,but claim to be from Imo State. The way they talk about Rochas and the APC here,you will think the party will not be able to win any election in Imo. They even called Rochas,Okwohausa. Ex Governor Ohakim has already stated in detail how Governor Rochas Okorohausa and APC used state apparatus to hijack the electoral process to deliver Uwajumogu. Considering how unpopular APC is in Igbo land, I have to agree he is right. For some insane reason Rochas thinks that getting an APC senator of Igbo extraction to be senate deputy president is what will make Igbos accept APC, the man is fool. Courtesy of 2015 election tribunals, PDP ensured it used the supreme court to kill that novel idea and of course, they got their reward when the supreme court declared them winner in Rivers, Abia and Akwa ibom while their supporters cheered on. Congratulations to Rochas Okorocha and all the victorious APC candidates. This victory had put to rest the fraudulent claims by wailers that APC cannot win election in the south east. gartamanta: One would have believed this lie if Rochas hadn't contested & retained his seat, also gotten 2 Rep seats last year under APC..... Being in pain should not wrought delusion.... Until some sort of biometric voting system is introduced, Nigerian elections will always be a joke. Did you not rejoice when SCR and PVC were invalidated by SC in PDP's favour in Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Abia etc? gartamanta: In the last cases of Rivers and Akwa-Ibom governorship elections, the Supreme Court ruled that it was right to rig elections. The Supreme Court ruled that irregularities in the election process including rigging, buying of votes, intimidation and harassment of voters by military and paramilitary men, ballot stuffing, e.t.c. are not enough to make elections invalid. Therefore, elections can be won by any means.
