Nairaland needs to be careful. It is against the principle of fair use for anyone to change a copyrighted work as the Op has done.

PUNCH deliberately did not attach the story to RCCG because they know the implication of doing so. In so far as the so-called RCCG member is not a pastor, proving that he's indeed a member of the church is very difficult. Besides, A member of any church does not have any 'status'. Anybody can claim that he's a member of any church.

This thread is nothing but a desperate attempt to get traffic. It is shameful and must be condemned.

If it were a Muslim, whether learned or not, the fact that the suspect and the victim attend the same mosque, Punch could headline it as "Muslim Cleric Beat, Rape and Molest His Fellow Group Member" but it (Punch). couldn't at worst tell us RCCG member is the rapist here. Selective journalism.

God bless you moreover The celestial church incident happens inside the church environ BUT this rape does not take places anywhere near the church, the bday was not organized by RCCG so WHY bringing the innocent church name inside d story, don't they have Name or Location ? Abeg free the church.

Rape is the most difficult legal case to prove and to obtain a conviction. It is a known legal anomaly and fact. However, the said lady should pursue it.

I have always pondered. The idea in the pentcostal churches of celibacy, church brother courting church sister, waiting for the Lord to choose the sister, believing sister, and the whole rhetoric - will lead to certain antisocial characteristics in the church going youth.

They see those outside their pentecostal movement as demon seeds and they do not hang with them. They do not know how to socialise, ask girls out, date girls, relate with girls and so on.

It is not surprising that a case of rape is reported. For all we know, it was a case of misinterpretation of affections on both parts.

I think these pentcostal movements should focus on their youth relationships.

My own thoughts.
