did you read the article properly, they want turkish name to be removed from the name of the school, probability that the school name can be change to something else, but not bearing turkish name, because the government believe that major funds used for the execution of the coup came from that source

Oops... from what I read in the article with my microscope...... Turkish govt requested for the closure of the 17 schools and not change of name

If you sold your dog and use the proceed to buy monkey you've not achieved anything bcs they both squat ...i e the ownership have not changed

..this issue na seriously serious matter

After the closure per say, what becomes the faith of the students and their sponsors especially in this present condition of our country? E no go easy oh. but wait oh, are the schools not legally approved, why must the schools be closed down? if they have issues with the owners, they should go settle them with the individuals involved and live the school and the students alone. as if it were to be Nigeria they would agree to do so.

FATE

Corrected!! They will keep and maintain their faith...as for their fate? I aint got no clue. Nigerians dont seem to be able to differentiate between fate and faith...

if it's proven that funds from the school is used to finance activities against the state, the victim state can demand for its closure. As big as dangote is, if gov't should discover that he is the sponsor of boko haram, the law permits that the state close it down, although it must be done through the court of law. The economic advantage will be useless when it's a great security risk to the state.

I understand you but I refuse to see reasons with you. Dangote would only be penalised as an individual, the state will assume the ownership of his empire and as such will appoint a new leader. It can't be closed, likewise this NT school

The Turkish government is just being overly reaching. The NTIC have always been in existence and produce good students and employ a good number of Nigerians. We are not their puppet. We don't have trade deals with them. In short, they benefit more from our association with them.

To hell with them. I will really be disappointed if the Nigerian government moves one muscle on this.

So if not for the failed coup the Turkish government won't even know the existence of the schools in the first place?
Turkish government knows about the schools, they are highly celebrated all the time as part of Turkish investment in Nigeria and worldwide. Nigeria Turkish international colleges are top range science based school in Nigeria

investigation revealed that billions of dollars was wired from Nigeria through UBA for the sponsorship of the failed coup d'etat. that brings to mind the high rate of tuition in those schools I think our Government should investigate them thoroughly cos there is every possibility they have radicalised some of those students n in the nearest future it will manifest.

What a dumb, conceited high handed request of an Ambassador. Has he considered its consequence on the Nigerians attending these 17 schools as he and his Government pursue their fundamentalist Islamic agenda?

Erdogan and his mullahs should proceed with caution because the next coup is just another military officers' meeting away and it will be nothing like the previous one where soldiers abandoned tanks to Islamic fundamentalists.

This are strong allegations our government should not ignore.

As long as the schools operate within the ambit of our laws, the internal politics of Turkey should not be our business.
Erdogan and Gulen were allies and forged a united front in Turkey, now that the two men have fallen out Erdogan is closing down all institutions related to him. Its like Buhari deciding to sack everyone who voted for GEJ during the last elections.

that is why I believe these three tribes should grow from there outdated form of thinking.. Nigeria can be amongst world powers if only we can enjoy unity in diversity.

the fgn applied for the cessation of business of a Lebanese manufacturing company caught stockpiling arms in one of its warehouse few years ago(5years, not sure), the court granted the request without the consideration of the economic impact.
Anything determined under public interest in law is mostly in favour of the government, except it's in a favor of an individual close to the government of the day.
Personally, I will suggest the taking charge of the schools by the government, but if it should end in cessation of business, the court will grant it without considering the economic impact.
