This is the same set of people that are kidnapping people and redemption camp using the waterways as escape route and I am sure they are the same niger delta militants who alao kidnapped in ikorodu and other riverine areas and took their victims to benin via same waterways
The navy have to kill all of them before its too late.they have turned from oil vandals to kidnap for ransome group.they have heavy waepons and they arr young boys.

This is why I suggest nigerian government to legalise gun.on a normal day .this dudes can't hit my street if gun is legalised coz we keep it above 50 right here.

NAIJA WILL HAIL THEE,!!
THE GOVERNMENT IS ALWAYS IN A HURRY TO TACKLE MILITANTS OR ANY OPPOSITION IN THE SOUTH OR NIGER DELTA.
YET THE SAME GOVERNMENT HAS NOT SENT A SINGLE REINFORCEMENT TO CURB THE KILLINGS IN BENUE STATE.?
TO THOSE ENCOURAGING THE GOVERNMENT TO KILL ANY BODY THAT IS IJAW OR FROM THE NIGER DELTA, YOUR TIME WILL COME AND THERE WILL BE NOBODY TO RESCUE YOU.
IT's JUST A MATTER OFTIME.

Their time will come, how? As an ijwa man, have you bn shot at or being accused falsely? No, because you're not a criminal.. Let them limit their crimes to there region where they will be Harbored and supported, we need peace down here pls.. If this government won't do anything tangible as regards to our economy, they should at least give us a sense of security...

I notice that the Chief of Defence Staff who ordered the operation is a Yoruba man.

I usually take the view that it doesn't matter where Buhari's appointees come from. May be it does afterall.

What if the CDS is from the 'other side,' might the story be different.

According to the report, the directive came from CDS Abayomi Olonishakin.
And heaven helps those who help themselves;what is the Governor of Benue State/notable indigenes doing about the killings?

It's a shame one has to think this way, but the reality is that in today's Nigeria, you have to look after yourself first.

You cant put your hopes on people from other parts of the country.

That's the Nigeria we live in right now.

I like that - the Ijaw slaves". They've lately seen the Ijaws as their hatchet men to fight their battles for them. The same way they used the minorities as cannon fudders during the civil war

Good news for Yorubaland and those that love her. Bad news for the ijaw militants and their sympathisers. The bitter end has come for all the ijaw militants that have been terrorising residents in the riverine communities of Lagos and Ogun state.

Operation Awatse in full swing. Local vigilantes collaborated with the Army, Airforce, Navy and Police(RRS) in this particular mission. The Airforce fighter jets bombarded one of the camp base of the Ijaw mitiants at a creek area in Fatola, Arepo, Ogun state; killing scores of the ijaw militants while other elements of the Armed Forces overpowered their fleeing ruins.

One by one, We will destroy all their camps; we
will apprehend their ring leaders; we will get rid of their foot soldiers; and once again our creeks and waterways would be safe and peaceful, free from the ijaw militants

Bravo !

On the tribalism issue. I daresay the endemic & constant bickering between those members who have appointed themselves advocates of respective tribes are being encouraged by the administrators of this group. Their silence on this issue is quite alarming, Mr Seun ...You lay claim to creating the largest youth discussion forum in Africa, yet the proliferation of hate speech and offensive invectives are the order of the day.

One would think a balance should be drawn between drawing traffic & creating a conducive platform for stimulating discourse. You guys are losing it. Here in the Nigerian Law School, guys hiss at the mention of nairaland.... the general sentiment is tribal e-warriors have taken over the site and the owner is simply powerless & ineffectual OR plain opportunistic to seize the proverbial bull by the horn ...and develop measures to sanction members.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Fulani herdsmen keep decimating Benue State population and there has never been a statement from the Daura President.
NDA bombs oil installations and the crusher in him gets into speed mode. Not forgetting the ear drum he fractured from listening to Radio Biafra at high volume.
2019 will still meet him running from pillar to post.

Hmmm this is getting serious. Same Ijaws that caused mayhem in festac and Amuwo Odofin estate many years ago when there slums were been demolished by the Lagos state administrator then because they wanted to create I think Raji Rasaki estate or something. The Ijaws were displaced and they left serious warnings that we would never know peace, and kept to that promise exactly one month later by invading with top of the shelf ammunition.
My dad said maybe they were retired soldiers then because of the sophisticated weapons and bravery displayed, they mounted all the main entrances and exits of festac and the police stood very far away looking at them, even when you hear the sound of the machine they had, we didn't even advice the police to engage them, it was just too obvious they would kill all the police men.
Fast forward to today, sighting same weapon they parade on their creeks in Niger delta and also the bravery they display by confronting the army, now I have a clear picture of were those weapons came from then...wow wow
Same Niger deltans who were selling Igbo (weed) to young impressionable Yoruba boys then, they abused the tolerance of the Yoruba states. Also remember Lagos was former capital and that attracted many people to its shores. My parents would warn us then to stay away from the ijaw bad gangs because Weed was foreign to us as a people back in the days, especially families with many male children were so worried about the development then, because my father attended many of the CDA meetings where a committee was set up to combat this Weed issue. Also then the Ijaws were the ones doing house burglary as their main source of income then was selling fish (dried and smoked fish).
whether it's ijaw, itshekiri, Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa I no wan know, the most important thing is now we have the political will power to confront our enemies, back in those days we had zero military support even with the likes of Dondan barracks and ojo barracks, they never came to our rescue.
My dads younger brother was a top millitary officer in kaduna then, he came to live with us because of that crisis then, and he said Dondan barracks told him they needed approval from Abuja before they could act.
So let's just say we are benefitting the effort of jagaban tinubu for supporting GMB, otherwise our sad tales for just start. Although that time nobody was killed even with all the shootings.
