Additional

You will need to give the children party packs content will be as your purse dictates- assorted/variety of biscuits, sweets, chocolates, packed drinks, small toys, exercise book, stationery, plastic cup and/or plate. Check lagos market you will see all sorts of wosiwosi to fill the bags

You may have a theme and decorate the place with banners and balloons from the theme or colours you choose

You need a reliable and good photographer or arrange with a family member or friend who can get/has a good camera.

Small chops/Chapman. Or just fry yam chips and serve with pepper sauce. People- Adults will eat it while gisting if well packaged wink. Puff puff too is a good idea!

Cake(s). This will depend on theme and budget.

General Tips

Ensure the food is on point whether being catered or you are cooking yourself.

Make sure you have back up stew with chicken in your kitchen somewhere, if food finishes due to a large turn out you simply boil rice and serve.

Arrange for extra meaty products too- reason highlighted above.

The children may require biscuits and drink on arrival before food is served. Ensure you have extra.

My 9months old son is a natural 'chopper' but after recovering from malaria like a week ago, his eating focus shifted from his pap & milk to strictly adult food like Eba, Rice, Beans, Noodles e.t.c Before the malaria he eats adult food + 330ml of pap to step down.... Now he won't even taste the pap at all and am confused on ways to make him keep taking milk. I still breastfeed him but my not lactating properly makes me feel the breast milk isn't sufficient for him. I have tried introducing other cereals like Nutrilac & Cerelac....He doesn't like sweet things at all (That's how he has been).

How do I get him to take milk?? Also do kids grow to like sweet things?? He won't even take Capri-sonne embarassed

He will grow to ask for it my son was same but he ask now for his smoothies and hot chocolate I was just wondering if it's the same child smiley

One of my nephews is 8 years old and he doesn't like or ever want cake. No matter the quantity or quality, he simply is not a sweet tooth. Some of my other nephews and nieces don't eat white bread and prefer weetabix or wheat bread. Baby E prefers fruits to Cerelac amd won't drink milk by itself. Sometimes, kids like what they like. Try making scrambled eggs, add milk, ginger and garlic and spring onions or onions to it.

Have you tried grounded baby rice? Baby rice tastes bland and since he doesn't like sweet things, you can easily prepare baby rice with scoops of milk.

I thought kids should naturally like sweet things wink I would try fruit cereals. Thanks ma'am.

Any brand will do as long as it's organic rice.

Personally, I buy aptamil's baby rice. Cow and gate's baby rice is also available.

All shades of wrong embarassed embarassed embarassed

What will happen if he breaks or smashes something like a cup? Ask him to pick pin undecided

There are techniques for TEACHING/CORRECTING a child that age certain things and spanking IS NOT one of them.

Secondly, is it good to be changing formula or milk frequently?

Let him know that those things come to them naturally, he should do away with d idea of people teaching him how to bring up his child and don't be surprised that those people's children lack manners. That's how somebody telling one mama here to spank 10 months old baby.

Good afternoon lovely mums, please I have a question to ask. Is it right to spank an 18 months old child because he refused to say good morning when he woke up?

The boy doesnt even grasp the concept of day, night or time yet so how does he know its even morning that he will be greeting.

They also learn by what they see and experience. If every morning na slap e dey chop when e see im papa, dont be surprised when he will deduce if daddy =slap then no daddy = no slap! Men i kent shout take a hike man! And refuse to go see his dad! He is just going to instill fear in the boy!

If he sees and hears greeting everyday, gradually he will pick up on it! All that is needed is everyday to say "sweetie say good morning/day/ whatever to daddy, or mummy or whoever" eventually he start saying it. And as his speech improoves you can start coercing him to make sure he repeats it after you. Eventually all you will need to say is greet so and so and the boy go talk good day, if na night..... you correct him as well simple.

If he is beaten at 18 months for not saying good morning, na to pick pin at 3 years for not prostrating! Or to kneel down at 2 for using left hand! You will be surprised how many of those "collegues" have rude children that dont even greet or have common courtesy!

I believe children should not fear their parents! Love and respect should be the aim! Because after a while or certain age, the fear will turn to resentment but as we all know, love endures!.

They're one and the same.
i don't think it's a good idea to be changing the milk/formula upandan. Except the baby is fussy and you're trying to find the one he/she likes or for cost reasons. Their digestive system is still tender no point experimenting with it if you get me wink
