I preach the same thing for guys of nowadays, its mostly common with illiterate yorubas and hausas, you see a small boy gets a girl pregnant and the next thing, struggled marriage, they now start struggling to survive and bring innocent children into the world to suffer with them, turning them into hawkers, labourers and all that.
It's so demeaning, i advice a guy should at least get something steady coming in and at least be comfortable a bit before bringing a wife and children into the table.

For me it makes sense that way.... NOT forgetting the wife must also be doing something too and not just a mere parasite

The same wisdom when girls were asked if they could live with physically challenged as husband. A wise girl answered " if the accident happen after the marriag no wahala but if not, waiting wan carry me go there in the first place"
