Why una dey bash glo?

Glo is good(not best but good) in my area oh, I don't experience any disconnection at all. Neither do I experience the GPS issue. In day time I can achieve 500+k/s. At night sometimes I can get up to 2.5mb/s.

Just because it's not good in your area doesn't mean its not great somewhere else. Agreed they need to improve, so let help them by complaining to them.

I remember several years ago, glo network was rubbish here, you couldn't even open a webpage without appeasing the gods. I called their customer care to complain. They didn't fixed it for a while so I abandoned them. Only recently I tried it again, and it was good. Lets try to support local companies.

PS: It is the glo network am using to post this

No wonder they came up with their so called cheap data bundles, to lure customers to their messed up network..GLO GRANDMASTER OF DATA indeed.

This is the exact problems the Op listed that m facing

Thanks to airtel and etisalat

Speed over GBs

Quality over quantity

Reporting from owode Ede in Osun state
You seem more sensible. Our intelligent OP refuse to let us know the location he conducted the "glo-experiment". As for me, i don't make conclusions based on my own experience alone.

OP, in most cases, Glo is not to blame for disruptions in network connections..

The way cable internet works by forming a loop of connected cable modems along which data is transferred. The loop starts and ends at the central office of your ISP, but the more people there are connected to the same loop as you, and the more data they transfer, the slower the loop becomes. If many users on your loop are accessing the internet at once, you may find that your connection speed will begin to lag.

Glo speed depends on your location

So 80% of GLO subscribers should move to your location

In the year 2014 I use to get more than 1MB per sec here, but now to get 300kb per sec is war.

GLO simply sucks.

Speaking as a blogger, I discovered that the Glo network speed is rotated geographically, cos right now i am using the Glo 6gb for N2,000.

At first when i subscribed, network connection was not bad. Although some friends complained of not having good network, mine was okay.

Now its the other way around. Networks so bad that most times when i wake up even at night. I can't update!!

Yes it is rotated geographically. There's a Glo mast right in front of my house and the generator is on but they switch off the red dot at the top of the mast. i.e It's not yet my turn to use their network.

Nigerians always on the Negative spiral cry they find negativity in every situation....which network is perfect? Use the network that's good in your location and let the others be....stop tarnishing people's business they've spend years toiling to build. That's how I listened to people complains about Glo poor network and almost missed out on the mega data deals Glo offer unknowingly it's the fastest network in my location..don't follow what people say 97% Nigerians are bitter and full of negativity, always looking for things/someone to blame.

glo is the best network in my area. if glo is not good in your area, change network grin btw, if i am judge all networks as u are doing (according to my area) glo is the best, while Etisalat and airtel is the worst. Glo is winning the data war, according to NCC statistics tongue

Maybe u got NCC wrong, glo is the network with highest data subscribers, it doesn't mean they are the best. I have 2mtn sim, 1glo and 1etisalat. Both @ home and office, glo is shit. On my android, both @ home and office, Etisalat is the best. On my BB, mtn is fine at work but fair at home. My total ranking, etisalat-gold, mtn-silver, I don't use airtel but I think it should take bronze. Glo can take zinc or whatever
Re: Why Glo Will Lose The Data Wars! by mickells(m): 7:36am On Aug 20, 2016
I used to think glo was the best. I used to be an unofficial marketer of their data plans.
I abandoned my glo sim 2months ago. they are so messed up.

Op, by now you should know that isp performance is based on location.

Also, it's impossible for Glo or any other network to turn on your phones GPS.
Check your phone settings, or maybe you installed a rogue app.
Re: Why Glo Will Lose The Data Wars! by jamesy212(m): 7:38am On Aug 20, 2016
It is generally agreed that glo has a poor network, but the issue depends on your location.
Here in my zone, glo really rocks, the only competitor is MTN.

Glo puts on your GPS? Wow... Another level of ignorance

Let me help you with this..

The reason why the GPS turn on when the data is turned on is because your GPS settings is in high accuracy which makes your phone use Assisted GPS (gps with data )

If you don't want the GPS ,turn of both the GPS service And location based service.

Glo or any other provider doesnt need your GPS for anything .they already track you via triangulation from their base stations.

Can you please explain further?

Why is it that it is only Glo sim that works that way? I was forced to return my glo sim into router permanently just because of that.

I don't think you can convince me about this enough for me to believe you sir, because I tried etisalat, mtn, airtel but no such issue.

I even factry-reset my tablet thinking an app might have caused it, but it persist until I tried other sims.

Even over my location, glos speed is really poor, we called and told glo and they said "noted" but the speed remained that way, even with the gbs they offer, i will still use other network data plans, thank God airtel joined the war and they are already winning,i only attempted this glo psiphon cheat of recent and am tired of how it poorly connects, even mtn 2g on psiphon is more stable and better
I lost 1/4 of the 6GB I did early last month to their sick internet connection. since then I have been looking for psiphon cheat to get even with them since I am now in my former place wie glo service makes sense a lot. the one I have here doesn't connect at all......I don't knw if u can post screenshot of the steps u employed to do ya own or better still send it to my email, oluwaseunoladeleh@gmail.com. thanks in anticipation boss mi.

some people just have hatred for this glo network. i honestly dont know why. i m using glo 6gb for 2k and i currently stay in kaduna. after my sub i plan on moving to the 10gb plan cos i download alot and i dont experience glitches whatsoever. i watch youtube video without buffing and even fast forward most times.
using speed test, glo clocked 3.7 mps over here. if that is not fast i wonder what is fast. as regards dose complaining about glo switching on their gps i dont know the kind of fone you are using that will give a mobile network the authority to on yur network. pls note, i cn switch to any network as long as the network is gud enuf and the price is reasonable enough.

I don't know of your current setup

I can safely assume that one is your apps is using Glo internet setup but not mtn or etisalat.

I have an app (mobdro) that only works with Glosecure apn, not gloflat nor mtn's proxy apn.it triggers agps.
The app will not work even with data on my mtn sim until I modify the default apn..
Maybe that's your issue.

Some default apps act like that too eg my HTC sense app

Even minus that, Glo has no control of your GPS, it's very amusing to see that assumption..
It's a well known feature of later Android phones from Android 5
