Impressive! Many have now become Pro in Cucumber farming! cool

Abeg make una extend am to Cabbage, green peas, lettuce etc so that preparing salad will become cheaper! cheesy

Let me ask like you've asked on many threads. How is the market of these crops like? I hope to delve into one of them soon.

Since you are in Lagos, you need to visit the Mile 12 market to see how things goes, there is a market somewhere under Falomo Bridge (Victoria Island side). Prices of Veggies for Salad have always on the high side across Southern part of the country because of the produce is coming from the North.

Personally, l will likely add shops in upscale neighbourhoods that sells them in my market research.

Please, I stays in Anambra and I really need to go into cucumber farming, but my problem is that the land I intend to use for this purpose has no any form of irrigation or nearby stream. Can i use such land for cucumber farming?

I was in Mile 12 market yesterday to get the latest updates on the sale of cucumber. There are different kinds of bags, but the type of bags I sold for 2k5 in June is now sold for 4k-4k5.

I planted cukes this yr but disease wipe them off after about 100 harvest. Some insect pests were prevalent in my area this yr and when the cukes started flowering, I stopped spraying insecticide to save the bees. So the pests were free to do whatever like. What a foolish mistake. My watermelons too are dieing out despite pest control. Someone told me it was due to too much rain, that I shud hav planted earlier in march. Anyone got advice for me? I'm also looking for crop fungicide. All I see in the market are herbicides and insecticides.

They tend to sell cheaper in Jos when compared to Lagos.

zforce is a fugucide. When farming watermelon n cucumber u shud ensure u ve fungicide at. Hand or better still treat ur soil prior to planting with fungicide or ash from burnt neem leaves.

My cucumber crops have germinated and are growing well. However, I noticed that the part of the farm where I used manure is doing better than where manure wasn't used.

Therefore, I advised that whoever wants to plant next should make adequate arrangements for manure to be on ground before planting.

Re: My Cucumber Farming Experience In Lagos by jephito(m): 8:11am On Sep 02, 2016
I make sure I spray insecticide before my crops germinate after which the subsequent ones are done once a week but If I notice any attack before that time, I spray.

For Fungicide, I usually do that twice a week

Please explain a little further so that a newbie like me would understand.

Spraying before germination, u mean on the soil. Then the weekly routine, do you avoid spraying directly on the crop leaves? What about the fungicide, how is it applied? Thanks a lot bro.
